There is a fine line between being funny and just ridiculous. Clark’s adventures balances on that line too often for me to not think ‘yeah, right’ too many times. But, when I was able to look past that, the book had its moments.

I Heart Vegas is the fourth installment in Lindsey Kelk's chick-lit series titled: I Heart. I took a hiatus from this series after the third book...sometimes you have to do that when your connection seems to be stalling out. Apparently that was the right choice for me because I loved I Heart Vegas! All the humor really hit the spot and that's what attracted me to Ms. Kelk's storytelling in the first place. It makes up for the heroine's inability to communicate and ask for help and all the other things that make you want to roll your eyes. I'm a happy reader right now and have once again found my excitement for this fun series ♥

My favorite quote:
"If I ever met a woman who claimed to understand what went on inside men's tiny minds, I would punch her in the face for lying."

The I Heart series includes the following installments as of May 2016:
#1-I Heart New York
#2-I Heart Hollywood
#3-I Heart Paris
#4-I Heart Vegas
#5-I Heart London
#6-I Heart Christmas

Lindsey Kelk’s books have quickly become my guilty pleasures, her books just like Meg Cabot’s and Sophie Kinsella’s I know I can turn to when I need a quick pick me up; they easily bring a smile to my face and they’re the perfect comfort reads. I’ve been glued to Angela’s adventures ever since she ran away from London 18 months ago in I Heart New York. Each time I’m about to start a new book there’s always a nagging feeling in the pit of my stomach worried about what she will get up to this time. You always kind of know Angela’s going to mess something up somehow or cause some sort of controversy, but then there’s always the fun and laughter along the way which makes up for Angela being a total nutter. (A good nutter!)

I Heart Vegas kicks off with Angela receiving a letter from the immigration and naturalisation service’s revoking her visa; she has 30 days to obtain another visa and if she doesn’t she will be forced to leave the country. So who does Angela turn to in her times of need? Her best friend Jenny Lopez, Jenny can’t believe that Angela has over looked the easiest possible way of staying in America just marry her boyfriend Alex of course! But Angela’s not too sure, as she doesn’t want to marry Alex because it’s a convenience but because they love each other and want to spend the rest of their lives together. So she has 30 days to hatch a plan to get any of the other visa’s possible otherwise her big American’s dream over, her relationship with Alex will be over and she will be forced to leave America, which has become her home for the last year and a half and go back to her old life with her mum constantly fussing over her.

I’ve always had a topsy turvy relationship with this series. I didn’t really enjoy the first book; I Heart New York but decided to soldier along, the second book I Heart Hollywood was amazing and I thought if the series continued this way; this would probably end up being one of my favourite series. But then came along I Heart Paris which sadly wasn’t all that either. I was definitely considering giving up this series but decided to give it one more shot, and I’m glad I did because I Heart Vegas has to be my favourite book of the series so far. It was fun, full of an impromptu visit to Vegas, scandalous goings on, about misjudging people and Angela royally messing up as usual, but I never laughed so much in a long time!

“I knew he wanted me with
him - he’d said it over and over - but there was no
mention of making it official. We shared an apartment.
we shared a love of pineapple on pizza. We shared a
razor, even though he didn’t know that”

The only thing that miffed me was Angela’s communication problems, it took forever for Angela to tell Alex about her situation, . I found myself constantly wanting to throttle her to get her act together.

This book was also full of the clichedness you would expect. At first it was a little unbearable, but then as you got more engrossed with the plot, you kind of get used to overlooking it. Also there was some predictability to the plot, for instance you could guess what would happen at the end, but then there were other aspects which caught me completely by surprise and so sort of made up for the predictableness side of things.

I Heart Vegas was just the sort of book I needed, after finishing a couple of intense books. It was a light, easy going, funny read. I hadn’t realised how much I missed Angela and Jenny’s adventures until I picked up this book. I look forward to more of Angela’s Shenanigans in I Heart London.

Favourite quote:
“All I could think about was weddings. A
trip around the supermarket turned into a trial for
the aisle. Every song on my iPod was a contender
for the first dance. Every time Alex reached into his
coat pocket, my heart stopped – phone or ring? Phone
or ring? Quite often it was chap stick what a girl.”

This was ... just... not good.
The plot, if you could even call it that, was basically a British girl, living in America, whose visa got cancelled.

Yep. Her Visa Got Cancelled.

The Horror.

If that wasn't petty enough, we were constantly bombarded with her insecure pathetic thoughts, of being jealous of all her hot and pregnant friends.

The rest of the characters weren't that better, in fact, all the characters got under my skin.

The Cast:

Angela- Our insecure heroine, who blabbers about her incompetence 24/7 and spends the whole book crying over ways to get a visa. Right, she's also allegedly a "writer". Here is an excerpt on her "writing":

" So here I am in fabulous Las Vegas, poolside in December. Across the street, I can see people walking around in parkas, I'm in a swimsuit. Clearly something isn't right in this place."

No, clearly my dear, you need to take some creative writing classes.

Alex - Angela's "dreaaamyyy" Rock Star Boyfriend. *pukes* Throughout the book she attempts to ask him to marry her so she can get a visa, but she's scared he doesn't love her and wants her to leave because he's "Oh so Hot!" and she's a fat cow. Insecure Girl Syndrome.
Anyway, Alex is just such a flat character. He's there for the sake of creating more Angela Drama, which creates more nagging paragraphs. Basically, his existence could be exchanged with a coat hanger if the coat hanger was hot and dreamy.

Jenny Lopez Uhu, you heard me, Jenny Lopez...... pfft. Angela's best friend. Fucking Annoying. Bossy, selfish little shit. She has an amazing boy friend and a kick ass job and according to Angela she's "Oh so Hot!" and yet she mopes around and does ridiculous shit because she's still hung up on an ex whose getting married.
This was the most hideous character. She's your typical Alpha Female, that is bound to have a little slave girl trailing her (i.e. Angela)

Other than those the book was peppered with other "Oh so Hot!" people, most of whom treated our little pumpkin, Angela, like shit. And she just accepted it.

I like Chick-Lit. I like Chick-Lit drama. I like Chick-Lit cliche. What I won't accept anymore is pathetic Female Leads.
I won't accept endless paragraphs of staring in the mirror feeling sorry for herself. I won't accept weak, spineless heroines.

If you think Justin Bieber deserves to be in the same circle of Hell as Adolf Hitler, you do not deserve a five-star-rating from me!
If you think Justin Bieber should go to Hell, you don't deserve a 5-star rating from me. Period.

Now, when I made myself clear, here's the actual review:

It has been years since I read I Heart Paris. I still remember how fun it was and what mostly happened, but I was afraid I forgot a lot of things.
It turned out, I didn't have to worry at all. Lindsey Kelk reminded me about everything important that happened in the last three books and I was right on track.

I really enjoyed reading about Angela and Jenny. They are the kind of characters that I like. They are likeable with all of their flawes, they make mistakes and they are aware of that and they want to make things right, even though they sometimes don't know how.

Emotions were a really important part of the story. Here, I don't think of swoon worthy moments, but of character's emotions. I really, really like how the author showed us how emotions sometimes just take over our mind and actions and sometimes, because of them, we can loose control when it comes to our actions.

I have read a quite pile of chick-lit in my life and what I learned from my experience is that you can't be mad if a book is predictable. The actuall thing is, there are more predictable books then unpredictabe ones.

This book wasn't predictable as I expected for it to be. It didn't have some big A-HA moment, but the plot wan't going in the direction I tought it would be going, and I'm not going to lie, sometimes I was even afraid of what could happened.

This book is full of popular refrences, hot guys and hot girls, casinos, swimming pools and litres of alcohol.
But hey, it's Vegas! And that's how Vegas should be, right?

Genre: Chick Lit

I Heart Vegas is the 4th book in the I Heart series. This is NOT a series of standalones, and each book needs to be read in order of publication- otherwise, you'll be feeling very confused! With that, I adore this series. I love the journeys that we as readers get to go on with Angela especially for the fact that she makes everything so much fun. Her friends, her relationships, the way she conducts herself, EVERYTHING is just hilarious. And because of this, I can't get enough of this series. Only a few more books to go until the brand new book in the series releases in September. Yipee!!!

In this installment, readers will travel to Vegas with Angela, Jenny, and Sadie. Of course there is a ton of debauchery, a lot of moments where you'll find yourself giggling, and moments of pure pleasure as you experience some of the best friendships to ever grace a book. But there are also serious moments. You see, Angela is in a bit of a pickle. She lost her job at the magazine she was working for and if she can't get another visa (either by being a spectacular human being, working, or being married) she will be deported! So Angela tries to figure out a way to stay. Even if this means listening to her friends concoct a plan of a marriage of convenience. Good thing Angela is really in love. Or things would go very wrong....

Once again, Kelk gives us a story that will induce laughter and make readers smile. This is a fabulous installment of the series and I can't wait to see what adventure Angela goes on next! Should be very interesting to see where she goes from here...

If you are a fan of chick lit novels, this is a must read series. If you like books by Sophie Kinsella (the author of the Shopaholic series) this one is similar to that and I think you would like this. If you have read some of the books in the series and have yet to finish it, you must! I Heart Forever releases in September and you have to be ready for it!!! Squee!!!!!

In the fourth part of the series, Angela and her best friend Jenny (and some others) go on a short trip to Las Vegas. Angela is slightly worried about her expiring visa, her only chance at staying in New York being marriage, so a few days away in Vegas seems just about the perfect distraction. Of course, things get a bit out of hand, but what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, right..?

Well, no, this was not my favourite part.
First, I don't like the idea of Las Vegas. It's not, that I don't like the city (well, I've never been there, but would really like to go one day) but the things that happen there. Everyone just thinks it's okay to do stupid, horrible things, just because it's Vegas, blah, blah, blah. So that was what I was worried about. And with good reason, as it turned out.
Second, up until this part I loved Jenny, I really did. But now? Not so much anymore. I don't exactly hate her, because she's mostly great, but what she did? Thanks, but no thanks.
Their drinking habits also got quite out of hand and were quite stupid and silly and just immature, but that didn't really surprise me that much. Or at all, for that matter. Especially as the story takes place in a city like that. Still stupid, though.
The ending was obviusly cute, but not cute enough.

But now I put this part behind me at last, I can finally read the London one! And I am so excited about it, because London! ♥ Obviously. ♥

Thank fuck for Lindsey Kelk, is all I can say! I'd been looking for some enjoyable, escapist reading for a while, but all the chicklit novels I'd tried had conjured up a world that seemed completely foreign to me. Stuck between a sea of characters allegedly my age who spoke and behaved more like my grandmother, or ditzy 'girls about town' whose fondness for shopping/relationship/other-girlie-stereotype hijinks read like undiagnosed mental illness... Ugh! Give me a break. (How long is it til the next Marian Keyes novel?)

I picked up I Heart Vegas for the unoriginal reason that I'm going to Vegas soon. The cover art is dreadful and the blurb is generic in the extreme. Do not be fooled. Although this is the fourth book of Angela Clark's shenanigans, it could easily be read as a standalone (or, like me, you could put the other three on hold at the library as soon as you realize what you're dealing with).

Angie is a British girl in New York who is my hitherto unknown best friend. Kelk's writing is fresh and (excuse the cliche) laugh out loud funny, and the dialogue is perfect for the mid-20s market; for once, I actually felt like I was reading banter that my friends and I would blather...probably drunkenly. The overall effect is breezy but not dumb, with a protagonist you root for and whose flaws don't render her as someone you'd edge away from in a crowded department store (Bloomwood, I'm looking at you, you fucking menace).

The friends, family, and especially the love interest are all well fleshed out, with Alex actually being a bit of a genuine heart throb who isn't just fulfilling the Mr. Darcy-shaped gap of many chicklit paramores. The plot ticked all my boxes for location porn, some unexpectedly contemporary pop culture jokes and references, a good selection of girls getting gussied up scenes, great shoes, a fair bit of drunkenness and debauchery, the odd shag, and some amusing - but not credulity stretching - plot twists.

I know I'm gushing a bit, but fuck it, this is my entirely subjective goodreads review, and this reviewer was unexpectedly delighted by Ms. Kelk.

I was not expecting to like 'I heart Vegas' but surprisingly I enjoyed reading it more than its prequels. I found this book to be more humorous. And of course, totally enjoyed return of James Jacobs and Alex-Angela dynamics. A fun read. :)

Aaah well, I didn't want to read this book, as I was a little annoyed by Angela in the previous parts and the combo of her + Vegas didn't sound too promosing. So this was kind of 'grit your teeth and get to it' decision in order to finish this series.

It started off embarrassing as always, but fortunately I seem to have become hardened against this and it wasn't too awful to read. So the cringe-o-meter was more or less fine for the first half, I guess. At least until Angela decides that it might be fun to do a little pole dance-off with her model-friend Sadie. Drunk, of course. And I promise you: it gets even better! It's Vegas, after all! :)))

Ok, back to the storyline. After losing her job and therefore her visa, Angela is about to be kicked out of the country. As usual, instead of saving her arse, Angela starts to build up an even bigger mess - and goes to Vegas with Jenny. The unplanned third member of their group is Sadie, Jenny's flatmate. At first, she's such a mean bitch towards Angie. But to be honest, I didn't really hate her as much as you usually hate bitchy counterparts. Probably because I'm not Angela's biggest fan and Sadie's points were kind of valid :D

However, the story itself was kind of boring. It mainly consists of worrying about the visa, doing nothing about it, arguing, getting drunk and drooling over high-end brand-name dresses/ bags. (Howsoever they always end up getting to wear those for free, as it seems.)

The ending was was quite nice, though. Maybe a little rushed and inharmonic regarding the pace of the rest of the story. I wish it was more working-towards-this-outcome instead of doing-random--unrelated-stuff and then poof-all-sorted.

If I could I would give this 3.5 stars.

Angela Clark loves her life in New York. Everything is perfect but, after she loses her job, her world starts to crumble around her - her visa is revoked and she's given the disastrous news that she must leave New York. Desperate to stay, the last thing Angela needs is a girls' trip to Vegas just before Christmas.

I'm really disappointed in this series. I read book 5 first and really enjoyed it then started reading the series from the beginning and they didn't live up. Angela gets annoying and somehow everything just falls into place for her. I get it's a fiction book but things just don't work out that well for people, especially in NYC. I also wish she would just think before she acted out... plus for a Brit she doesn't act like a Brit. I'm dating a Brit and know a few and they are more reserved and mature than how she is acting.

SometimesI wonder why I persist in this series. Probably for completeness. Or in a hope Angela will grow up. Or because I have a soft spot for Angela, who kind of reminds me of me....but Angela love; try not to get so drunk all the time. It makes life easier believe me. :)

Mene so žal le še bolj odbijale.

This is the fourth installment in the I Heart Series. If you’ve never read the I Heart… series before it follows the life of Angela Clark, with her rockstar boyfriend (Alex) and outrageous best friend Jenny Lopez (no, not that Jenny Lopez). As I’ve read the other three books I had a feeling that I knew what was going to happen in this book. For the Angela and Alex storyline I was right, it doesn’t bother me that the stories are predictable… The thing that bothers me is one Miss Angela. With Chick-Lit books sometimes there isn’t a strong female character and this is one where she isn’t strong at all.

She’s very whiny and doesn’t seem to appreciate what she’s got. I understand that everyone has every right to complain when they’ve been told their visa has expired and they have 30 days otherwise she’ll be kicked out and back to England (and her mother). What I don’t understand is why you don’t talk to your boyfriend about it who wants to help. Yes, she told him the basics but not the most important idea that was put forward to her - marrying him. As usual he had to find out by accident, causing a huge row. I love the books but I don’t love her. Whenever things go wrong with Alex she always runs away, she always gets bullied into things by her friends too. This girl really needs a backbone (although she does miraculously gain one when she punches an old foe in the face). I don’t think this book was helped by the fact I read it not long after The Hunger Games so I’m used to seeing a strong female character who isn’t swain.

I liked the plot and I liked the going’s on in Vegas, there were a few Hangover cliches and references which was expected. I would have just liked for the characters to be more likeable. As the series is going on I’m finding there’s less characters that I enjoy. In this book there was only two (maximum of four) that I really liked. With this trend I’m a little worried about how the next book is going to be. It won’t stop me from reading it however as I want to find out what will happen between Angela and Alex. I also want to find out if any of the twists with Jenny will be brought back up in the next book and see where they go.

For people that haven’t read the series this can be a good stand alone book, however there are references to things that have happened in the other books which may not be understood (I must admit, sometimes I completely forgot myself as it’s been a while since the last book). There were a few funny moments and the books tell it like it is which is what a few people will enjoy. The series are good books if you want something to pass the time however, be warned, the main character can drive you up the wall!

You can read the full review here

I followed these hearties for 3 years, I mean I read the first book when I was 15 year old and the last time I read one of these I was 17(I heart Vegas, the last installment that I read).

Okay so a secret, I call these books my guilty pleasure, when ever in my teenage years I needed a enjoyable escapist reading these books helped me. And this series did start with a bang!(I mean it!).

You know what I liked about these book that they kept me hooked up with the story, I had this soft spot for Angela and why I continued reading them because maybe I wanted completeness and the 4th installment provided me with that, so that was my last read because I was satisfied and also I think by that time I was over this genre(that people call Chick Lit, and I totally hate this word, totally!),I just can't read them now.

Now let me talk about these book, well I call them cute because they are! after you read them you feel all cozy and fuzzy inside.

I want to say Lindsey Kelk, I love you for these hearties at least at some point of time I loved them.

These books are full of emotions, crazy stuff, people who make mistakes(they felt real to me), expensive stuff(which I can't buy), hotness, some of my dream destinations(Well to tell you the truth I'm not into Chick-Lit but New York, Hollywood, Paris and Vegas made me want to read these books :P), and liters of alcohol(I don't drink).

Alex, Angela's boyfriend, for me was adorable and friendship between Jenny and Angela was remarkable.

Also these books are well written, I really liked the writing style and the stories are not at all predictable(well I Heart Vegas was kinda predictable). And I loved those cute book covers.

These books are relatable as they made me think about all the amazing friends I have in my life(they are few, but all of them are amazing and fabulous).

So these books are lighthearted, uplifting(don't take it seriously) and I loved them all till I heart Vegas and I'm not gonna read I heart London (if Angela can't stand her parents for 10 minutes, how am I suppose to stand them for an entire novel) and I heart Christmas.(I think I'm just getting old :/)

description
This review was originally published on Blogs of a Bookaholic.

Escapism encapsulated in an entertaining 330 page book.
I Heart Vegas is the 4th book in Lindsey Kelk’s I Heart series that follows a British blogger who moves to New York City after catching her fiancé cheating. In this installment, Angela is having visa problems of the serious variety and faces the possibility of being deported. But instead of facing the reality of the situation, she takes a trip to Vegas with her best friend and boyfriend. Could an Elvis style shotgun wedding be the solution?

Lindsey Kelk’s books are my happy place. Whenever I’m feeling down, stressed or need a break from everyday life I can pick up one of her novels and relax, knowing I’ll be in for a good read. The stories are completely farfetched, the characters make silly, illogical decisions and don’t even get me started on the stereotype reinforcements, but at the end of the day these books are so damn entertaining. Angela and her buds get into lots of trouble, have drunk shenanigans and swoon over cute guys that make smooshy romantic declarations. And then there’s Angela’s rockstar boyfriend Alex… *sigh.*

Having said that, I was disappointed with this book. The plot was flimsy at best and I really wanted to reach through the book and shake Angela at points. The novel seemed to be stuck in a repetitive cycle of a romantic incident, getting drunk, romantic incident, getting drunk. Plus, Angela spent the whole book worrying about her visa problem and then continued to do nothing about it, lying about the seriousness of the situation to her friends. It was infuriating to me as a reader because she moaned and worried for 90% of the book while doing nothing logical to solve the problem.

But, that ending. OHH MY GOSH THAT ENDING. It reduced me to a puddle of giddy love-struck feels and I couldn’t stop smiling! So much so that I was able to overlook *most* of my previous complaints.

Oh Angela. I have such a love/hate relationship with the main character in this series - as I think a lot of people do. After being infuriated in the last two books, I was hesitant to read this one, but I have this need to know where the series is going.

The book was better than others, but still not the best. I'm not sure if I just forgot the secondary characters in Jenny's life from other books, or if they were just thrown into this book in the haphazard way that I felt they were. I spent the first good half of the book trying to figure out who was who, and why I couldn't seem to remember anything about the other characters in the book. I also spent the first 75% of the book infuriated with Angela and her stupid antics, but what's new....

This book picked up for me right in the middle, mostly because I just wanted to know how it was going to end. I think most of us know the next book - I Heart London is coming out soon, and I was drawn to reading the story because I wondered how Kelk was going to transition the story from Vegas to London. I was also super happy to see an old character from Hollywood show up in the later half of the book, which brightened the story for me!

I also was very proud of Alex for standing up to Angela and hopefully talking some sense into her. That interaction truly sets this book apart for me from Hollywood and Paris, because it's been a long time coming for that conversation to occur. I'm curious to see if Angela finally grows up as a character in the next book given what Alex said to her during the Vegas trip and after.

If you're a fan of the series, you've got to read this book. I wasn't nearly as upset with Angela as I was in Hollywood or Paris, but so far nothing has topped the original book.

Ok for any of you who find the word beginning with C associated with women’s fiction books close your eyes now!! This series has to be one of the best Chick Lit series I have ever read! I even go as far as to say I prefer the I Heart series to the Shopaholic series as the characters seem a little more down to earth.

I Heart Vegas is Lindsey Kelks latest release and it really doesn’t disappoint. If you are an I Heart fan then this book should be the next on your to be read list. Angela is back and has found herself yet again in an impossibly difficult situation this time involving a letter informing her that she needs a visa or she is heading back to England. After reading the previous I Heart series we have become familiar with Angela’s character and so when we read this bit of news we know that this is going to get very messy and of course very funny but at Angela’s expense!

I found that Angela’s best friend Jenny, was featured a lot more in this book and it is no secret after reading my previous reviews that she is one of my favourite chick-lit characters. Her character was able to grow a little more in this book and as usual she brought the humour above and beyond the previous books. We also see alot more of Alex in this book and I enjoyed seeing a little more of Angela and Alex’s relationship without the rollercoaster ride they are usually on.

There was always something going on in I Heart Vegas and I found that it flowed a comfortable pace. I would definitely recommend you pick up this book to see where Angela’s adventures are taking her next!

I am eagerly awaiting Lindsay Kelk’s new book which is due out next year as I think I am going to feel right at home with this one judging by the title I Heart London!!!!

Reread 2022:
Bumping up to a 3 as I really enjoyed the humour in this one. I liked how there wasn't any petty drama that was over the top, I Heart Paris, I'm looking at you. And overall I loved the ending, who wouldn't!

*2.5*

I just couldn’t connect to this story like the others but I’m excited to continue with the series as I’m very much invested in Angela’s story now. I loved the ending of this book though. Excited to continue soon.

This series is getting a little repetitive. Girls gets super drunk rather than deal with her problems and messes up her relationship. Wakes up the next morning and feels bad, proceeds to do the same stupid things all over again.

I enjoyed this one more than I have others in the series, but I think its just because I took a break from reading the series so it was nice to come back to something really light and easy. In this book our main character Angie goes to Las Vegas with Jenny Lopez for a girls weekend. Ironically, her boyfriend will also be there so of course a lot of hijinks ensue. Angie is also in danger of being deported back to the UK if she doesn't find a job so the stress of that issue is also running through this girls weekend. I have said it before, I don't love Jenny and shes still annoying in this book. Im also not sure I like her boyfriend and this book and the drama that happens with him made me even more unsure. I'm excited to continue with the series, but also glad there are only 3 left.

SPOILERS AHEAD:
Since Angie lost her job in the last book, she's going to be deported soon. Jenny has the idea for her to propose to Alex but Angie feels weird about it and doesn't want to do it. In comes the trip to Vegas. Jenny wants her to go for a girls weekend that is ironically the same weekend as Jeff (Jenny's first love)'s bachelor party before his wedding to someone else. Long story short the girls go and Jenny and Jeff get married (but then later find out its not valid) and Angie and Alex ALMOST do but then he runs and flees after she tells him about the marriage for the VISA thing. She says it like "itll just be a piece of paper, etc." trying to downplay it and not freak him out, but instead she made it seem like their relationship meant nothing to her. I can understand why he ran away, but I wish there would've been more communication. In the very end, Jenny and Jeff are not together and Alex proposes to Angie as a surprise.

I Heart Vegas is the fourth book in the I Heart series. I would highly recommend reading the books in order.

Now firmly ensconced in her New York life with dreamy musician boyfriend Alex and glamorous best friend Jenny, Angela Clark should be on top of the world. Except she’s just lost her job at The Look, her visa has been cancelled, and she’s facing the very real possibility of being shipped back to the UK.

So when Jenny proposes a girls’ trip to Las Vegas (conveniently timed with her ex's bachelor party), Angela jumps at the chance to distract herself with cocktails, chaos, and a bit of denial. But when the only way to stay in the U.S. might involve a quickie wedding, things start spiralling faster than a slot machine on double speed.

I’ve been a long-time fan of Lindsey Kelk’s I Heart series. Unfortunately, I Heart Vegas is my least favourite to date. Angela’s personality feels overshadowed by her incessant whining and inability to communicate like an adult. Her go-to solution for every problem—drinking herself into oblivion—has gone from endearing escapism to "this girl needs rehab."

Jenny, usually a delightful ball of charm and chaos, also crosses into near-caricature territory here. Her behaviour in Vegas is so over-the-top that it’s hard to root for her, even with the fun Friends references sprinkled in.

Kelk’s writing is as breezy and funny as ever, and she captures the glitzy madness of Vegas perfectly. But the emotional heart that made I Heart New York so addictive feels a little lost this time around.

2.5 stars.

The fourth book in the I Heart Series, and again, Angela's adventures do not disappoint!

Without a job, Angela finds herself in quite the predicament, as she now has 30 days left before having to leave New York for good and return to London. Angela must find a job quickly, or a husband, but she doesn't think boyfriend Alex will be so keen. To get Angela's mind off things for a while, Jenny organises a girl's weekend in Vegas. From the minute she steps into Vegas, Angela is swept up by the partying, cocktails, outrageous outfits and brushes with the chapel of love.

I really liked the storyline presented here. As everyone around Angela appears to have their life together, it is interesting to see Angela slowly grow up throughout the book and I like being on this journey with her. I am very happy that Jenny is back in New York, although her character is as eccentric as ever, carefree and always getting herself into trouble. Especially in Vegas. What really stood out to me was the ending of the book, as I wasn't expecting Angela to find the solution she envisaged to help her stay in New York, as well as the unlikely and unexpected ally that she used to get there. Angela and Alex's relationships seems to hit rock bottom in this book, and I hope everyone is as surprised by the ending and as happy as I was when I read it!

Again, a book that doesn't disappoint!

This book started out great and after 100 pages I was wondering when the actual fun will start and I wasn't disappointed. Some bit I found hilarious

'Are you the pilot?'
'I can assure you I am fulltrained, ma’am.’ He winked at me. Not helping. ‘Eight months’ professional flying and no fatalities.Eight months?
‘Hey, as long as he’s never crashed it, right?’ Jenny rested a handon my shoulder. ‘It’s fine.’
‘I didn’t say I’ve never crashed one, just no fatalities,’ Cody said, laughing heartily. ‘Now let's get your ladies strapped in.’
Sweet Jesus, this was how I was going to die

Also Can i just add Alex got away easily. If he hadn't done what he did I would have disliked him!

(Why Angela doesn't like high waist jeans? They are so good. I want to know why she doesn't like them because I've been relating with her for so long)

I Heart Vegas is the fourth book in the I Heart series by Lindsey Kelk, and I think it might just be my favourite of them so far.

In this installment Angela is being faced with being deported back to the UK after losing her job in New York. Unsure of how to fix things her best friend Jenny suggests a girl’s weekend in Vegas to relax ready to go back to New York and fix all her problems. However, in true Angela style she gets herself in all sorts of predicaments and her weekend in Vegas that she’s dreamed of doesn’t pan out as she was hoping.

Not only are Angela and Jenny returning characters but so are Alex, Sadie and James Jacobs. They are all in Vegas for varying reasons but they all have a lot of fun along the way, some more so than others.

I found this book so much fun, even at the cringe moments. I don’t know if I connected to this one a bit more because I have been to Vegas (the most insane week of my life) but I really loved it.

I can’t wait to see what Angela gets up to next in I Heart London.

Jeeeeej!

This is the fourth book in the I Heart series and I feel like it’s all following the same formula. Angela and Jenny leave New York.. something happens.. craziness ensues.. Angela fights with anyone and everyone… And it’s all sorted out in a nice bow by the end of the book. This book takes place in Vegas and happens exactly how I listed above. I think Sadie is a nice addition to this book and I liked seeing James again. All round okay read that I didn’t really have to think about..
