------------- Excerpt -------------
She searched his eyes and tried to read his thoughts. His eyes were dark but with anger or was it something else? She wished she knew.
“Sorry,” she mumbled and started to scoot back to her seat. Hard, strong hands grabbed her. Her eyes shot to his and she had no choice but to move closer to him. His eyes were no longer dark, they smoldered. He didn’t stop dragging her until she was half in his big lap.
“You have no idea what you mess with,” he growled and then he slammed his mouth down on hers.

Okay, Darien and Cassie. Kind of a yawn on this one for me. Several gramatical/usage/mechanical errors, a slightly confusing story line -- or one with several loose ends (for ex., brother of the deceased ex-girlfriend -- where did he come from, where did he go?). There is an over-the-top villain with only minimal motivation (better than King Brunes in book 1, though). Further, Cassie character seeks to "help" Darien by giving him BJs in his sleep. I mean, I'm all for being helpful, but Mother Theresa did NOT advocate that kind of help, ya know? How about a conversation, a sympathetic ear or the like? Now, if you want to get your groove on because you are tired of never feeling, tired of being denied, or you just want to, I say seize the moment (or whatever else you feel driven to seize). I'm thinking altruism is not the motivator for what Cassie did in this one, though. Overall, it was flimsy, but fine.
My favorite of the Kategan series, this book has a feisty heroine and a damaged hero you can't help but want to hug. Vampire Cassandra has had a crappy life growing up as an orphan with an abusive guardian. She's running away when she ends up on lykaen Darien's land. He's in mourning for a woman he loved, and has cut himself off from his family. His first reaction to Cassie is wanting her to leave, but he can't resist a woman who needs help and lets her stay. She gets under his skin, he fascinates her to no end, and things get sexy fast. In this universe the bite of a vampire is an erotic act, so of course that leads to some spicy scenes. Besides the sexual tension between Cassie and Darien there is the tension of her guardian coming after her. It's tension rather than drama and the climax is satisfying.
It can be read as a standalone, but the first three books are great and very much worth reading. I've read this book several times and it never disappoints. It's my go to when I'm missing the Kategans and don't have time to read all six.
This Series is absolutely Yummy!!! An erotic paranormal novella done right. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Darien Kategan
My heart went out to Darien Kategan. He was a man in mourning when he found Cassandra, wounded and passed out in the woods near his cabin. I loved the damsel in distress in need of an alpha to save her from the big bad vampire plot. These two were so hot together and Eternal Temptation was much improved over book 3 of this series.
There are only two more books left and I look forward to more of this world that T.A. Grey has developed.
The only reason Eternal Temptation got a 3 was that this is Darien's book. I was happy that I finally got to read it but disappointed that I just couldn't get to like Cassie.
What I don't get was that she's abused and all yet on the second chapter she's thinking sex and whatever. Seriously I expected Cassie's character to be a little bit reserved and shy but no. Whereas for Darien (I adore him) he's totally hot and yes alpha and yes just not too overdone for Cassie though. But don't fault the author though she's awesome for having more HOT steamy sex interludes for Darien. Yay Darien.
I managed to get through the first three books, because they were at least kind of entertaining (if you managed to overlook all the grammatical and plot errors as well as the just abominable writing style). But this is too much. Cassies POV kills me, I cannot stand her. The whole story until now (40%) is horrible and unrealistic. I... can’t take it anymore. I really tried. But, no, Kategan Alphas - who, by the way, NEVER do anything close to shift into wolfs or any other creatures - I am done with you.
Better and better and better. This series is awesome! This story was great. I love Dmetri and Christine. Their chemistry is phenomenal. I seriously felt like I could feel the heat coming off the pages. And I loved reading about what was going on with the rest of the group and they're lives and how they are continuing. There was even one point that I cried. Great, GREAT book.
Darien discovers an injured, unconscious woman in the forest. He shelters her briefly, hoping she’ll mend enough he can get her in to town, but he isn’t prepared for her to wake up and decide he is the one who needs help healing.
I really enjoyed Cassie being concerned about more than just herself. Where she could have been a self centered character, she was a minx with a good heart.
I really didn't like this one. Darien's dark brooding character just didn't fit and Cassie just came out of the blue. This story didn't make alot of sense or maybe each of their past "secrets" wasn't developed sufficiently and I got bored quickly. I hope the next one is as exciting as the first three.
I like the dynamic between the two main characters but if you haven't read the earlier book they dont give the back story until the halfway point of the book but reference it and the characters frequently. Seems a little drawn out for a back story that was told in all the prior books. I like how bold the heroine was though! Very steamy and i like that the hero was was one pushing her away!
I was really looking forward to Darien's story but am so disappointed. He deserved so much more than Cassie. At the very least, a woman who understands the meaning of the word 'No!', especially considering her circumstances.
I really liked the previous books from this series but this one was a little hard for me to read for some reason. I like the idea of Darien and I loved that I got to see why he was so damaged but Cassie to me was just so out of place. She just seemed like a shallow horny girl at first, but to me this book didn't get actually good until the ending.
I wish we got more of Daniel's perspective and more of the relationship he had with her dad and that whole back story before the very end. The time Cassie spent with Darien just felt a little forced/awkward to me. But! I do love this author and I'm glad I continued and finished it. The ending was definitely satisfying.

Darien Kategan is running away from his past, something he blames himself for but really wasn't his fault. He made himself believe that he had found his mate and decided to take her unborn baby and give it his name and claim it as his. Only thing is she decides to go back to her ex and they get in a fight and when he gets home she is dead. He takes himself away from his family and decides to be by himself. All that changes when he sees a woman passed out in his woods and takes her into his cabin.
Cassie Wilks is a vampire running from an abusive fiancé. She wakes up in Darien's cabin and she notices the pained look he has in his eyes and decides to help him in anyway she can. She hides that she is running from a vampire. Darien knows that she has been beaten but can't get her to tell him anything.
In this fourth book we get even more into the Kategan's lives. I can't even think who I like the most. I get my fix of vampire and werewolves and that makes me happy. Each story is unique and has a special quality to it. I just can't seem to get enough.
What a disappointing read. I was hoping for so much more for Damien. The story was rather boring, and there were so many plot holes and information not provided it was hard for me to finish. The story was told from mostly Cassie's POV, which means we have no idea about what is going on in Damien's head for much of the book. It was annoying. There was absolutely no spark between the two characters, so the insta-love felt all wrong. Cassie's personality seemed forced as well. She is a battered woman, but rarely acts like it. Instead she actively pursues Damien when he wants nothing to do with her. I just don't get it.
This is not the last book of the series, but Damien is the last Kategan sibling to get an HEA. After this disappointing story, I think I will skip out on the rest of the series.
Darien Kategan now leads his life in solitude after losing his Dana and baby. As he is on his journey away from his family as he does every year this time, he finds a woman hurt on his land. Cassandra Wilks is running from Daniel, vampire clan leader, who has abused her and staked his claim on her. He will stop at nothing to get her back. Cassie has no place to run to and no family to help her and she is drawn to Darien this dark giant of a man.
Will they manage to save one another from each of their troubled pasts and give into their sexual passion for one another. Can Darien let Cassie into his heart before it's too late before Daniel stakes claim and hurts Cassie more than what has already happened to her.
The other Kategan brother who chooses to live as a recluse has his solitude interrupted by an unexpected guest. This extremely annoys him because he is not done living in misery and wallowing in the guilt of losing his love. The guest finds a way to get up under his skin and awaken emotions he hasn’t felt in a long time. Now whether or not he responds to those emotions is anyone’s guess. After reading the first three books in the series, honestly this one didn’t excite me as much. It was still a good read but i suppose i was expecting more. It held my attention enough for me to finish the book. I have the others so im going to continue reading and finish this series. Hopefully the excitement will pick back up.
Great!! I loved Darien and Cassie's story. It was so wonderful to see Darien finally heal and find happiness again. I loved Cassie's character. She was bold, funny, and daring despite being broken herself. I admired her bravery when it came to trying to help heal Darien. There were a few times I wanted to hit the man over the head myself, but he finally got it together as a Kategan should. As each story continue to gets better as the series progresses, I'm becoming more anxious for the next one. Time to read Dark Seduction (#5 in the series)!
Sexy wolf guy and feisty vampire girl, what's not to love. I've read all the books in this series, and it's hard to choose but I think this may be my favourite of this series. It has a bit more action and suspense. Darien is gorgeous and I loved Cassie's innocent yet feisty take what she wants attitude.
Some werewolf fans may be disappointed that these guys don't shift, they simply have enhanced sense, but it didn't bother me. A few issues with the writing but ignorable. This book has hot sex scenes, action and suspense and is a real page turner. Loved it.
This is a short, vampire/lykaen romance. Its about giving love, life and fate a second chance though you owe them nothing. its about trust and conquering your fears because somethings are just so much more important.
It was a nice read, makes you feel all good inside (gives you a happy buzz :p ) the only problem was. . . Twilight -_- . . . Seriously Woman?! whats the matter with you? :3
T.A. is getting better. I liked the ending enough that I decided that even though I spent more than half the book being annoyed with Cassie that I like the whole book. She still has some distracting proofreading errors but her story telling is better. I'm starting to wish these stories were longer and she would explain more.
I found it a struggle to read this book. The writing was choppy, I never really engaged with the two main characters although I felt some empathy for them, and I never felt the spark between them that resulted in their supposedly strong attraction to one another. Disappointing, because I had enjoyed the previous book in the series.
Cassie is on the run from her fiance,Daniel & collapses on Dariens property. Darien is still beating himself up about Dana & tries to push Cassie away...only to change his mind as Cassie tries to get to know him. Darien says some shitty things that really tests Cassies patience which send her back to Daniel!
I absolutely cannot believe in this romance. Cassie, the heroine, sexually assaulted him while he was sleeping and yes I consider oral sex without consent as sexual assault. Just, what a sad wreck of a book.

Only thing I found annoying was the whole bad-male-coming-to-get-you scenario from the first two books.. It's getting old.. But the way Darien and Cassie were able to come together was beautiful. No pun intended. I'm glad Darien found his happily ever after.
