***Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Thank you NetGalley!***

This book was everything I hoped for and yet nothing that I expected. I had hoped for a story about a shady company with a secret plan that stumbles onto something they didn’t expect. I got that. But I also got more than that, which I didn’t expect but I enjoyed.

This is a debut self-published novel and I must say that this was very well done. The cover is nice (anyone who’s read my reviews know how drool-y I get over good cover art), the synopsis is intriguing, it was well edited, the characters were engaging and the narrative was well paced.

I had a few complaints, mostly related to how characters behave with each other. I got a cardboard cutout feeling from a few people. I never connected with Jake, for example. I really wanted to like him, but he was just bland. Like a slice of plain toast. I wanted to like him but there was literally no personality to him. Similarly with Terrell. I wanted to like him, but there was no depth to his character.

I also found it slightly annoying that everyone in Abby’s life can’t seem to use her name. In one two sentence exchange, her mother would call her “darling” at least twice. In a longer back and forth conversation, every sentence the mother uttered would include a “darling.” Now, I have a daughter. I have a lot of cutesy nicknames for my daughter, that I use a lot. And I do mean, A LOT. But not that much. I found it unnatural and irritating.

Those two points aside, I found the book wonderful. The story was well paced and gave me just the right amount of information to lead me down the merry path that the author wished me to take. That path ultimately led me to right where the author wanted me to be, not expecting the resolution at all. I can’t really call it a twist, because it wasn’t a twist. I also didn’t expect it or see it coming at all. Sometimes that would be a bad thing because it would mean that the author didn’t do a good job in hinting at his bigger story. But in this case I think the author did exactly the right job. We are supposed to see Silicate as this shadow company that is up to no good. That’s how these stories go right? Not necessarily.

On the whole, I really loved this book. It was a refreshing, imaginative story that is told very well. The author indicated that he would visit this world again in the future, I certainly hope he does because I want to know what comes next.

A wondrous and surreal masterwork of speculative fiction!

REFRACTION by Terry Geo (@terryjgeo) is a safari through the imagination, a voyage through the visionary. The brilliant concept that dreams can be fabricated into existence, a reality hewn from the mind’s wonders, anchors this science-fiction adventure. With theatrical gusto and cinematic staccato, Geo regales us with a tale on the brink of possibility.

From an immediate plunge into the story, the author crafts a meticulous world. He utilizes relatable, layered characters with fully fleshed out backstories in a diverse and inclusive cast. His ingenious artistry lends a surreal ambiance to the intricately paced, action-packed plot. Speculative musings overlay suspensive undercurrents as he unravels the riddles and puzzles of his mastermind.

With an aesthetic that bridges Twilight Zone and Doctor Who, Ray Bradbury and Neil Gaiman, REFRACTION is a riveting and captivating read. Its satisfying, nostalgic romp through geekdom royalty includes flavors of Silent Hill, Star Trek, and Black Mirror. Sci-fi aficionados will devour this striking debut.

Refraction is a super unique story with a diverse cast and really, really interesting plot. With multiple POV's, we get to see the story unfold through different eyes, which is nice because there's a lot going on at once.

All the characters come together when they arrive at a top-secret, high-security company in London called Silicate. We soon learn that the company is the first in its field. Not only can it actually see people's dreams, but it can bring them to life! I especially loved the scenes when the group is visiting the museum far, far below the ground of Silicate. It was super fun seeing all the apparitions and the pop culture references were neat! If I were to visit Silicate, I think I'd love to experience the dinosaur section. Or the underwater part! I'd definitely steer clear of the horror rooms though!

I was actually impressed by how scientific all the dream equipment sounded. My guess is Geo had to do some research in order to make it sound so believable. Obviously we don't have a way to make dreams come true, but if someone was to make it possible, my best are on Terry Geo, the author of this book.

I read the introductory novella first and even though I was disappointed that the protagonist from that (Maria) wasn't in Refraction, it was nice to see her son at least. I wish we would've at least learned more about the hallucinations she suffered with Mr. Piggy. Were they hallucinations though? Or was it an apparition from her dreams coming to life? Questions about Maria remain unanswered and since she wasn't even alive anymore when Refraction begins, I don't think we'll get them. Oh well.

Overall, Refraction was a really interesting book that was unlike anything I've ever read before. The pacing was a bit slow in the beginning as we got to know all the different characters, but as soon as they arrived at Silicate I was hooked. I look forward to reading more from this talented author! 5 stars!

“You can see people’s dreams?”
Not only can they see people's dreams, they can make them come true! And that is the underlying linchpin of this book!

This was an extremely fun read for several reasons. First was the above-mentioned premise. The idea was well thought out and presented.

Second was that Geo clearly had a lot of fun writing it. Revisiting favorite moves, video games, and television shows, it was a great nostalgia trip - even if I didn't recognize them all.

Next were the twists and turns of the plot. There were several times I thought for sure where I knew the story was going. And...nope I was wrong.

Lastly were the six main characters. Geo took the time to introduce us to them and let us in on their back story so that we cared about them once things started to get out of control. Is that a spoiler? I don't think so...of course things have to go awry at some point!

The attraction described in this book ranks right up there with Crichton's Jurassic Park and Westworld or Niven & Barnes's Dream Park. I strongly recommend Refraction and its prequel, The Cracked Reflection.

First, the cover of Refraction is beautiful. I know we shouldn’t judge a book by its cover art alone, but the color scheme and imagery is definitely intriguing. Then, there’s the hook. Also intriguing. I wish I had read this story sooner. It’s the perfect remedy for the current state of the world. I lost myself within the various settings, all richly described, and thoroughly enjoyed the adventure. I read it in just a couple of sittings, so it’s definitely a page-turner.

To the author’s credit, his book reminded me of one of my favorite short stories by Ray Bradbury, complete with extinct animals. Geo’s writing is unique and enjoyable for its ability to make me suspend my disbelief while reading. He makes me feel as if this could be my reality one day. Why not? Or, even more mind blowing, that this could be my reality right now.

My only wish is that Geo continue to develop this world. A sequel would be fun. I will be purchasing a paperback copy for my senior classroom. They’ll enjoy the sci-fi/spec-fic elements.

Thanks for a great book!

Absolutely brilliant book from Terry Geo.

It has many twists and turns and incredible depth of character development throughout. It is a modern day sci-fi which also borders fantasy and mystery.

Diversity and inclusion is an on going theme throughout without throwing anything in your face. It's just how the world should be and is covered in the book just as that, nothing is made a big deal of with different sexualities, race and gender all being included in a natural way.

This is just the perfect book for geeks and sci-fi fans, has light and dark moments and it's the perfect first novel from an obviously very talented author.

If you read anything this year, make it this book. I read it cover to cover in 2 days. I couldn't put it down and have told everyone about it.

I HIGHLY recommend Refraction. 10/10

A very good read. It takes you along very quickly and has characters that I was sad to leave at the end, which is always an excellent sign. Some excellent comic moments, and lots of references for people of all ages. The story was creative and innovative, and gave me a lot of unexpected moments.

Definitely looking forward to the next one.

This story started with some quick vignettes of the characters who would come together and play out an epic drama at a scientific research lab in London, England. I was engaged immediately. Each of their stories illuminates interesting and compelling aspects of the characters. The settings are well-imagined and pop you straight into the world in which these people exist.
What I liked about the book - at times, the story inspired towards a Michael Crichton techno thriller. I loved the mystery and the handling of a complex story. There were no parts that left me questioning what had happened. The author has handled the inclusion of current social dialogue and incorporated inclusive aspects into the story sensitively and well. There is representation in this story and it feels right, unforced and natural. I did enjoy some of the cultural references made in the second half of the story. The characters are likeable and realistic and very adaptable. You are rooting for them to overcome their foe from the time you realise they are in trouble.
What I didn't like - I found the seamless switching of points of view did confuse me a bit, but once I was aware of it, I tried not to let it trip me up. I found the story moved strongly into a fantasy realm through the middle and the end, and I was disappointed because I had enjoyed the build up and tense mystery of the first half so much. This is not the book's fault, but rather, my own dislike of fantasy as a genre. Once it went there, I had a hard time believing the story and staying invested in it. I felt the story shied away from the suspense it hinted at in the first half.

Overall it was a satisfying read. I'd recommend it for anyone who enjoys fantasy sci-fi set in the real world/near future. Also, readers who enjoy cultural references in stories or fan fiction, LGBTQ+ books, young adult fiction, travel fiction, will enjoy this read.

A book of wonder and imagination

I am excited I saw this book on social media. I generally don't read from the Sci-fi genre. I am happy something about the book drew me in and I began the journey into this novel. It took me less than 24 hours to finish it!

I loved how the author started us off with the characters' backstory. I felt like I knew each character and was rooting for each of them, especially Terrell.

This book was so creative, it makes you question, what is possible? Could this ever be reality? It made me want to visit the museum and see the exhibits for myself. I absolutely loved the descriptions of the aparaitions and each character that was housed there.

There were many areas of suspense that in the beginning I was trying to guess who was the culprit. The ending was a twist I didn't see coming.

This Author did such an amazing job in this story that I will be reading all his future work.

The way he crafted this book world, from the descriptions allowing the reader to visualize exactly what is happening, to the characters he built up. I loved it and would recommend this book to anyone.

Wild and Original Ride! Can't wait for the next.

Terry Geo has created a unique, original story full of fun and intrigue. Several characters come together in London's Particle Building, a science lab bridging the gap between what we see in our waking moments and what goes on behind the scenes of our dreams. (And nightmares!)
Woven with whimsy, a mystery unfolds that adds a fantastic element of tension and curiosity. Stolen secrets, unknown players running a militia, and cover-ups at the highest level, build to a wonderful showdown.
The characters are well developed and varied. You come to care about the leads, rooting for their victories and crying for their losses. Love interests and friendships blossom and flourish in ways that make you feel like you too are a welcomed companion to the core group. And you'll definitely want to spend a week in this building! (If you can survive the sabotage and villainy of the antagonist. ;)
This is definitely not your run of the mill suspense story. It takes unexpected turns, each building the excitement toward a science fiction fantasia. I can't wait for the next story in this universe the author has created. Well done!

A sleep clinic where they can make your dreams come true—which turns out to be a really bad idea!

The story is fresh and inventive, populated with sharply drawn characters. The end result is a truly scary page-turner.

This story was masterfully written, well thought out, and a tremendous debut novel.

While not entirely in my preferred genre, (I read and write mostly romance) there was a thread of romance weaved throughout that I clung to, felt develop, and watched blossom. It absolutely filled the inner romantic in me.

What I wasn't expecting was for this to take me back to childhood and bring up nostalgia from all of the shows, series, movies, and games of my youth. The extent of the research and detail that was surely factored in is obvious. This is a quality read.

Each and every character's background was carefully laid out first, bringing them all together to an amazing journey. There were twists, turns, and intrigue throughout. It was the most fun I've had reading a book since I can remember, and it's one that will be impossible to forget.

I never thought I'd read a sci-fi fantasy that I loved as much as I loved this. It was more than just a story. It was an adventure!

You will fall in love with the romance, dream big at the fantasy, and marvel in the mystery that is Refraction.

This is a good, solid sci-fi adventure with plenty of imagination and some great world building, and I didn’t expect the story to end up where it did. It takes some unexpected twists & turns towards the end and all the characters go on quite a journey. I found all the characters likeable - even the villains were fun - and I enjoyed the 80s & 90s pop culture references from the museum (I recognised most of them & loved to see a mention of Defenders of the Earth - I thought I was the only one who remembered that cartoon!). I also liked the Bond-like scale the author was working with. This is a story with grand plans and a global reach, even though the action is primarily based in London with British characters (which makes a nice change from the usual American-based sci-fi stories).

And I was glad things were wrapped up well at the end (having read a few books lately where things were left hanging) so, overall it was a satisfying read. It would be nice to catch up with the characters again some time, if there was a sequel, as the author has left plenty of room for more to come.

A Bad, Good, Poor Book - 3 Stars

This is a book that was hard to pick up again the first few times I stopped reading it. It was several days before I wanted to go back and read more. In the end, I’m pleased that I finished it. The title tag, “The Techno-Thriller of Your Dreams!” fits. It is a good line. It was one factor why I read the book. The premise is that the company can bring some people’s dreams into physical reality. Spoiler. They can. Sort of.

Call it the first third of the book. Might be a quarter of it, but it felt longer. That part is nothing but the backstory changing into the current story of some of the major characters in the book. Interesting, perhaps. Interesting enough to want to keep reading? Barely enough for me. Also, this mysterious company, that is secretly bankrolled by many billionaires, has almost an infinite amount of money to spend on people they want or who they want to keep silent about the company.

The writing was not the problem. The writing is solid three to four star writing with some places better and a few places worse. The writing was not the problem. It was in the story telling itself.

The middle section when the main characters interact with each other and with the hardware was good. That section’s writing is worth at least one additional star. I got through that part quickly and enjoyed it. It advanced the story, the characters and set up the end third very well when things go bad at the end of the second part or you could say, second act in a three act book.

The third part was where almost everything you thought was going on wasn’t, the bad guys show up and almost take over plus the whole cosmology of what is happening gets turned upside down. Mostly. The author is good at setting some suspense then, in this part he drops it and goes off describing the secret multi-level underground complex that is “deeper than anything else in London” that almost no one knew they were building something that big down there. It slightly advanced the plot and let the author’s imagination go wild with various genre mashups. You need to read it to understand. It was fun to read, but way too much that wasn’t needed to get to the point.

The last part is where the totally unexpected and powerful outsiders, plus a secret helper from the bad guys’ side, come in to save the day and explain what is really going on. The set up for them was good, but too convenient.

As I said. This is not a bad book, but it is not a great book or one I will read again. It isn't set up for a sequel, so this looks like a one off, three star book.

Dream characters and creatures somehow cross over into the waking world and threaten to wreak havoc in this imaginative techno-fantasy with sci-fi thriller elements. Teenage prodigies Abby and Terrell are cursed/blessed with waking dream abilities that capture the attention of a mysterious corporation, Silicate, based in London. That same company’s chief engineer, Padman, hooks up with a new boyfriend from Yorkshire, Jake, on the eve of his latest induction of clients into the hi-tech “dream-monitoring” facility. Meanwhile, paraplegic war veteran Ryder becomes head of security at the same time, and soon falls for one of the rich clients, a female novelist who has nightmares about a homicidal psychopath she used to know.

The first half of the novel is character-based build-up, and proves author Terry Geo is adept at bringing people from all sorts of backgrounds to life with equal sensitivity. They’re fleshed-out individuals, flawed and relatable. We’re also given hints of dream-reality spillovers throughout, and it’s an intriguing set-up.

All the plotlines converge inside the Silicate building. It would be unfair to give away the big reveal, or any of the subsequent twists. Suffice to say it’s a mash-up of speculative science, dreams, and corporate vision. Funhouse elements in the second half strongly echo Ready Player One, while there are touches of horror and romance. It’s a lot of fun to read, even if I never quite bought into the concepts and the tech behind it all.

The LGBTQ aspect is done very naturally and has ramifications later on in the story. Pacing is consistent, and Geo’s playful writing tone keeps the story and characters engaging. He tries hard to make the sci-fi elements plausible, and it’s clear he’s researched the relevant fields. I think the author gets a little carried away with his concepts at times, but when they’re this enticing, who can blame him?

The first half is better from a character standpoint, the second is pure genre fun. I had a good time with Refraction, and I think readers who enjoy fantastical sci-fi in a contemporary setting should give it a whirl.

Your dreams aren't what they used to be...

Welcome to a whole new world - a place where you can dream literally anything into existence. If the thought of dinosaurs running loose on the streets of London while all manner of crazy dreams break through into reality - oh boy does Terry Geo have a book for you…

It’s not like we haven’t all suspected that a privately-funded facility somewhere is trying to find a way to tap directly into our minds? And you really don’t need to be a Facebook conspiracy theorist to wonder if shady big-budget corporates are looking to observe and record our thoughts and dreams.

With Refraction, these nightmare scenarios are brought to vivid life. But imagine how cool it would be to use high tech to allow people to experience impossible treats such as seeing Prince, Kurt Cobain, Freddie Mercury all perform on a lineup - from beyond the grave. Geo has a lot of fun exploring ‘what ifs’ such as having Babs Windsor and Kenneth Williams do a background guide to the Carry On films, offering characters chance to fly a dragon over Westeros or follow the Yellow Brick Road with Dorothy and pals… These pop culture Easter eggs are grin-inducing and wide-ranging - there are so many yet they don’t detract from the main action, it’s all very LGBTQ+ positive as well which is great to see in sci-fi. Geo has woven them into a rich geek tapestry of sci-fi and fantasy.

At the heart of the tale is a conspiracy to get highly active brain-function individuals from across the globe to ‘the facility’, Abby, a young girl who’s father disappeared, Terrell, a young gun who has bagged a tech placement, Ryder, the troubled grandson who is about to join Silicate and Jake…
What do these people have in common?

It’s a trip finding out…

My advice is to jump into this sci-fi Refraction.

Silicate is a secret, highly-secure research facility in London like no other, where people go to have their dreams revealed in apparition form and where they can come to life. Headed by the dedicated Dr Padman Sharma, one of its aims is to help people rid their minds of dreams that scare them.

Every night while sleeping fourteen-year-old Abby sees the frightening Shadow Man; Isabell, a well-known crime author, is haunted by Vincent, whom she is convinced is trying to kill her and who she uses as a character in her crime novels; seventeen-year-old Terrell has suspected his dreams have held hidden secrets for many years and posts a video blog of himself sleeping while a dream apparition appears through a glass of water left in front of the camera; Jake decides to give up his life as a farmer in Yorkshire for the bright lights of London where he starts a relationship with Padman and discovers what he does for a living; Ryder is the injured Afghan war veteran grandson of Lord Braighton, the owner of Silicate, and is given a job there as head of security. In the course of a few days, the lives of these seven people are about to change forever.

A highly recommended, interesting read for older teens and adults alike about the possibility of dreams becoming reality, Refraction is one of those books I found difficult to put down. The subject matter is fantastic yet believable because of the convincing manner in which Padman explains to the 'patients' the purpose of Silicate and what its aims are, without becoming too technical and boring.

Look out for the photo of the beautiful cat Megara in the acknowledgements at the end!

Refraction by Terry Geo is certainly something different and a great example of what someone can do with speculative fiction. The ability of scientists to tap into our dreams and make them a reality for them to live and breath - what a great concept. The possibilities are endless.

There are plenty of characters in this book and they all come together in London to witness and experience what the scientists at Silicate have created. I really liked the pacing of this book - we get to know each character in turn and they are unique and refreshing enough for us to understand what motivates them to attend the centre. They embark on some great adventures created from their dreams, and like I say what the author can do with this world is endless. A prehistoric world, a horror-themed world, an underwater world, I could go on. I liked how Abby, Jake and the others could all experience them together - if only this could be a reality.

Geo’s writing is brilliant and you can tell he has a gift for storytelling. I get the feeling that it is a well-researched novel due to the technicalities of the science and the pop culture references littering the text. Geo can create a world that is dark one moment, light another, heartfelt at one point and then devastating straight after.

I think I need to pick up The Cracked Reflection next and then move on to whatever Geo has planned (from his social pages it sounds fun)! This is a great read for sci fi fans and those who just want something a little different to the norm.

This Is The Book Of Your Dreams

A group of people are picked to join a mysterious company called Silicate run by an enigmatic Dr Padman. What they encounter is quite literally beyond their wildest dreams. Silicate are trying to help people with sleep problems. They have found a way to view their dreams and even bring the object of their dreams, otherwise known as apparitions, into the real world. In some cases this is to destroy the bad dreams and so curing the people of their sleep problems. But there are so many possibilities. Some good like having a theme park full of dinosaurs, cartoons and historical and famous people. All apparitions from good dreams. However there are dark forces at work. Someone is working against Silicate and wants to use the technology for nefarious purposes. Then it is discovered there is a whole living world in the dream world. A world that is being destroyed. If that happens the real world could cease to exist as well. Padman and his patients must help protect the dream world and real world before it’s too late. This is a delightfully bonkers and imaginative story. I found it very amusing when they were in the theme park interacting with cartoons one minute and then dinosaurs the next and then famous people the minute after that. There are numerous pop culture references that would keep a Sci Fi nerd happily entertained. The writing itself was descriptive and fast paced. I know this is January but this is easily one of the best books I’ve read this year so far.

What if our dreams are more than just dreams? What if they can manifest themselves and become reality? And what if reality itself isn't what we thought it was?
Those and more are the questions Terry Geo asks in his clever technothriller Refraction.
We follow several likable characters such as Dr. Sharma the lead scientist of highly classified research that could change the world as we know it, Ryder, a wheelchair-bound veteran and head of security of the company, Isabel, a successful novelist whose main characters may or may not be real, Terrell, a young man with very unique talents and Abby, a little girl who's haunted by a terrifying Shadow Man in her dreams - and beyond.
All these people will eventually meet and experience the adventure of their lives that could also change our reality forever...
I don't even want to tell more about the story because it's difficult to tell more without spoilers.
Just so much, the book is a pageturner and I flew right through it. The first half is filled with suspense while the second half has some really clever plot twists.
The book also offers LGBT representation rarely found in thrillers. The main character Dr. Sharma is gay and meets a handsome young man named Jake over the course of the events.
This is the author's debut novel and I hope we'll see much more of him in the future.
I recommend this book to fans of technothrillers and LGBT speculative fiction.

A really enjoyable read.
I really enjoyed this book. It’s not my normal choice of genre but sometimes you’ve just got to give something a chance – I’m glad I did!
If I’m honest, I was drawn to this book by the decent number of positive reviews and a whole bunch of people saying it was an engaging read and full of various pop culture references.
Overall, this is a well-written story. There’s tons of world-building going on but not to the point where it detracts from the story itself. The characters are interesting and believable with a decent amount of development as the plot progresses. The dialogue is crisp and well constructed.
As a Brit, I liked the focus on the UK and British characters. I enjoyed the way each character is introduced and the way their stories became entwined, a very clever way of moving the plot forward.
But it is the concept behind the book that ultimately proves to be the most interesting driver of the book. The development of dreams, what they mean and how they can be possibly used by science (won’t say more for fear of spoilers!) is a fascinating concept.

As it happens, I blasted through this book and found myself wanting to read more from this author. Always a bonus!

Based on the reviews and the Twitter hype, I had high expectations going into this book. In fact, I was so excited about it - I bought the e-version and the paperback so I would have my choice of formats when I was ready to enjoy. Refraction did not disappoint!

With a lot of build up and a clear turning point for the action, Refraction feels like two different books in the most amazing way. Geo takes his time setting up the adventure, planting little seeds and letting you get to know each of the characters who will go on an action-packed, head-spinning ride in the second half of the book.

From there, we encounter a unique world where reality and dreams collide in unpredictable and unexpected ways.

It is truly difficult to pick out what I enjoyed most about this book. From the London setting, the truly imaginative plot, the fun pop culture references, to the diverse cast of likable characters, there is so much to love and enjoy.

I read The Cracked Reflection, Geo’s introductory novella, first. After reading Refraction, I want to go back and reread it to see if it changes how I interpreted Maria’s story.

Although sci-fi stories about dreams are already known, there's a real fresh and unique feel to this one, with several unexpected twists and turns. The writing style is very cinematic, and and I felt like I was watching the action unfolding in front of my eyes.

It's unusual to read something in 3rd person omniscient point of view these days - probably because it can so easily be done badly - but Geo does it very well, weaving a story through shifting points of view that all come together into one sci-fi adventure. I loved the opening few chapters, where we meet the main characters and see their stories become entwined, and I have to say the characters themselves were probably my favourite thing about the book.

I must admit I found it slow at times, with the stakes feeling absent in parts of the middle, but it ramps up again at the end, with an exciting and enjoyable climax and a very nice, well-rounded ending. Overall, an enjoyable read!

Dreams become reality in the most unexpected way in REFRACTION, a speculative tale blending science fiction concepts and pushing the boundaries of the genre in unexpected ways. Pulling together a diverse cast of characters, each with their own traumas, fears, and yes--dreams, REFRACTION envisions technology which transforms the unreal to reality, the immaterial to the solid, and ether to something beyond our dreams. Unexpected twists take us to realms beyond the imagination, inexorably weaving together the characters' lives, and the very future of humanity itself, with detailed prose that vividly brings to life everything from the innovative technological aspects to magical, beloved pop culture mashups, running rampant through the imagination.

This is a very well-written science fiction book that uses aliens and multiple universes to explain the human afterlife as it exists in this book's universe. I liked this unique approach to explaining how people understand what comes after we separate from their physical reality. If Michael Crichton and the writers of the TV show Fringe got together and did the nasty, this book could be a a cousin of that offspring :) That's my somewhat roundabout way of saying this book is unique with echoes of traditional sci-fi.

Frefraction is the first book I have read by Terry Geo.

I can say with all honesty that I truly enjoyed reading this book. It was not what I expected. It was better. The storyline was intriguing and the characters were believable. I am hoping to see book 2 where the characters are more developed.

This book was provided to me in exchange for my honest opinion. Great potential, keeps you involved until the very end.

I am so glad I read this book. It was a really fun and entertaining story. I read it quickly, just couldn't put it down. It was a mix of Ready Player One, Jurassic Park and Dreamscape. I loved all the characters and felt a vested interest in them and their lives. Great character development as well as vivid scene description, literally painting the images in my mind. I would love to see this on the big screen, I think it would be a box office hit! Do yourself a favor and read it today!

An intriguing read.

Refraction tackles some weird and wonderful issues about our dreams and what they mean. A diverse group of characters come together almost to their own bewilderment to bring their trauma and trouble to an end. It's a pacy read and keeps your attention throughout. Hugely enjoyable.
