I cannot get enough of these books. This girl really knows her Greek mythology. Ares' Shield is a little more relationship heavy than the previous two. these books are written in a way that it makes sense for this one to focus a little more but it still doesn't take away from the over arching storing line. I hope that there are many more books to come.
Such an addictive series that I can't get enough off. Beth and Raven are still my favourite characters. The sad part is waiting for the next book to come out ☹️
Once again, the Greek gods & goddesses need help from the demigods at the Academy. Bethany, aka Beth, daughter of Zeus, Raven, daughter of Ares, Jayden, son of Hades (& Persephone), Adrian, son of Apollo, all have to go another quest. Warrior demigods are walking off in a trance and that includes Dax, Raven’s brother and one of my fave characters. Draven, son of Hermes, is a piece of work. I liked him in book one, but he keeps on being annoying and trying to kiss Beth. Loads of fights between Jayden and Draven occur. Seriously, one of the peeps needs to kick him into next week. Even Hermes is like “Thank you for not killing him.” It’s funny but not funny. Adrian’s visions are getting stronger and they are looking for Ares’ shield. So are the main ones who go on the quest- they are all gaining in power. Draven has to come and I swear, I thought they would kill the little piece of work at least seventy times in the book.
I love Claud from the last book- the presents he makes for the regular crew/ team are awesome! I love the fight scenes in the series. So the mind-controlled students are the goal of this book- to find them, get them back to normal and return back to the Academy. Poor Beth needs a full time healer to come with them on quests. Sheesh. The poor girl spends more time being healed in each book. Raven and Greyson (wolf shifter Alpha) are mated and hardly ever see each other, except when he is needed on quests. Jayden and Beth are hot together as well as sweet and romantic. I found myself wanting to kick Draven’s….
I’m starting to think they need to use water from the River Lethe on the boy… I can’t wait for the next book! Ares was much more mellow than I expected.

After the promise Jayden made in the underworld we finally see Beth and Jayden a bit less angsty and a bit more hands on. I'm happy that these two while searching for Ares' item of power can finally stop playing the hot and cold game. But don't worry drama lovers. Draven is there to fill in that roll of causing problems because he's along for the ride this time.
This book was a great continuation of the series. They spend a bit more time at the academy this time but they have a lot to sort out there before they're ready to head out. Again Beth gathers up the previous group as students are being brain washed to leave and the have to figure out why, only this time Adrian's vision says the Draven needs to join in. (Oh goody) The rest of the crew have this whole thing down pretty well by this point but Draven and his superiority complex gets a bit of a reality check (not that it gives him any character improvement that he so needs) as he thought they exaggerated all of their stories. As they progress I find myself rolling my eyes at this toxic character but I find myself anxious as they all dismiss him and look down on him. It almost hints that he's building some animosity towards their group which I worry may come into play later in the series. (Don't get me wrong he's well written for me to despise him so I wouldn't be heartbroken at this point.)
I'm a bit late to this one so I'm excited to jump into the next book without having to wait as we have a new character to discover and first impressions so far make me wonder what he's up to.

Lots of people and things going missing is not a good way for things to start. But it just might be the end if our heroine and her friends can't figure out what is going on. Time for a break from studying to deal with more pressing matters.
This is book three of the series, but it does pretty well as a standalone. You will be missing a bit of background, but all the essentials are covered early on.
This is an urban fantasy story with an academy setting, this one involving the ancient Greek gods. The story is well written and easy to read with a well developed setting. There are a lot of the usual academy tropes, but there are some unique elements as well. The characters are a diverse cast which gives us lots of opportunities to interactions. The story itself moves at a good pace and includes a nice blend of action, mystery and magic. Overall, I found this to be an excellent addition to the series and I look forward to seeing what comes next.
Highly recommended.

Beth new mission to save the world has to be my favorite to date. I like the fact that in this mission she had to go save Ares shield to prevent a war from breaking out in the human world. But this time around they have to bring Draven along because he is the only one with the power to save the students that but will he actually be of any help or will he just end up betraying them in the end? I guess that you have to read and find out because it’s definitely worth the read. I received this as an ARC for my honest opinion and I honestly loved it. I would definitely recommend that you read book.
Beth’s is on yet another mission to save the world. She and the crew have to save Ares’ shield so that war will not erupt in the human world. Students have been going missing, so there is an added complication. They have to take Draven with them because he is the only one with the power to save the students. The question is, will he actually help to free them or will he betray them? Can he be trusted? They will need to find the students before they can find the shield and save the humans from destroying the world.
Beth and the demigods are back and on a mission to save Ares' shield and the human world. On top of all that they have a mystery to solve of the students that are leaving the academy. Ares' Shield is a fast paced, action packed addition to the Halfling Academy series. The writing is well done, the characters are interesting and the story is packed with magic, mystery, unexpected twists, and an ending that left me ready for the next book in this series. the gang again have a quest, but have to take someone they really don’t want to. The end was almost anti-climactic to me—this whole long story and then it abruptly ends. I am hoping Draven gets a little better in the future. I am interested to see what happens with their powers. Beth and Jayden are super hot. Hopefully he keeps on the path of not being an idiot. Overall good story, but I couldn’t give I 5 stars because of the ending.

Such a good sequel. The author writing is amazing, the story is so well developed and you can see that the author knows about greek mythology. The mission in this book is sp entertaining and it keeps you attention pretty well. I also liked the romance aspect of the book and liked to see the development between the characters. Honestly this series is so good if you are looking for greek mythology, it has action, romance, history, amazing world building and such good characters.
The way Beth, Haden, and the gang handled the intrigue, riddles, action, and the pull of tension having Draven along caused, increased my pleasure in this episode of the Halfling Academy series. This tale felt like a quick adventure so I’m looking forward to the next one in this series. This ending definitely set me up for the next book.

Okay, this series is just getting better and better. I thought the first 2 books were good, but this one is definitely great! To be fair I do appreciate it more because I DID read the Zeus' Spark and Hades' Shadow before this so I would recommend to any readers out there to do the same.
Good job, author! I'm excited for the next book.

We are back at Halfling academy with Beth, Raven, Jayden and Adrian. The underworld has been saved but now students are going missing and it’s down to them to work out what is happening. It’s well paced and full of intrigue, mystery and magic. The mythology is incredible, the storyline gripping and captivating and our characters are definitely up to the task. It’s a great addition to this incredible series.
Each book in this series is a fantastic new journey through Greek Mythology, and this one truly brings it! I Love each one a little more!!! Well give it a read and find out for yourself. No Blurb repeats! No spoilers!.

Beth and the gang are on a brand new mission…they just can’t catch a break. She now has to go save Ares shield to prevent wart in the human world. This Time though they get to bring extra help in the form of Draven. He is the only one with the power to save the students. But can he be trusted. This is another fantastic addition to this series
Love how this went from having one quest to go on to having many other quest along the way. Beth and her group always seem to be the ones that have to go save the world and help the gods. I am really invested in seeing who is behind all of this and why. Hopefully Beth can make it to the end.
