*** Please note that although the prologue is written in first person present tense, the main body of this story is written in third person past tense *** Since losing the woman who owned his heart and shared his soul over a decade ago, Sir Guy Somerton has dedicated himself to his work and the defence of the country he loves. Maddie Scott's job as the events manager at a country house hotel revolves around happiness, celebration and organisation--worlds away from her previous life, where one false move could have meant instant death... if she was lucky. When his niece asks him to accompany her on a visit to a potential venue for her forthcoming wedding, Guy doesn't expect to meet a woman who reignites a fire he's long believed extinguished, but for Maddie, the encounter presents her with an impossible situation and a temptation she can't resist. A single word unleashes devastating secrets from the past, but then a far more dangerous threat comes calling, one that could tear Guy and Maddie apart forever...
This series is very different from what I normally read. .. But I loved them!! A different life style, plenty of on the edge of your seat danger, & of of course love.. I hope this series continues on & on for ever!!
I really enjoyed reading this book. The suspense was quite good and the romance heartbreaking. I’m so glad Sir Guy got his story. I definitely recommend this series and reading the books in order for the best experience.
