The change of seasons in the quaint Rocky Mountain town of Pineview signifies many things. The melting of winter’s seemingly endless frost, the first appearance of new, colorful blooms, the birthday of a certain lunchette owner and the annual Pineview Spring Fair, to name a few. Locals and residents from surrounding towns relish the sense of renewal and, of course, the fun goodies the fair provides each spring. This year, the small town’s beloved event has brought with it a darker element. When one of the vendors turns up dead, amateur sleuth Luna Beazley (and the official investigator on the case, Detective Cole Preston) have to race against the clock to solve the murder before the suspects leave town.

I love this new series! I love everything about this series from the setting to the characters. Luna is my favorite with her Railcar Lunchette and Cole the new detective back in town. She has a knack for solving mysteries much to Cole's dismay. I love all the characters from this quaint little town that are back in book 2! After finishing, I felt like I was there attending the Spring Fair in the picturesque town of Pineview. There is so many details to absorb and well-developed characters I look forward to the next book in the series!!! Nikki Hensley is a gifted storyteller.
I love this new series! The lead character is likable and I’m always looking forward to what she’s cooking up for lunch at her restaurant. I enjoy the relationships she has with her brothers & best friend. I especially loved the scenario with a Spring Vendor event. It was spot on! This series is so enjoyable!
I give this book 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4 because of the setting. Some of the charm of the first book was absent, and the main character took it on herself to conduct her own investigation just because she enjoyed it and had solved the previous murder. And the detective should not have allowed her at the crime scene!
