Love. It is what unites us throughout time. Whether 1904 or 2022, we all fall in love, experience the ups and downs of relationships, lose the romance in our lives, and, perhaps, find love again. Connected through place, these stories explore the theme of love and its timelessness. The G2G Rail Trail (previously the Guelph to Goderich Railroad) is a 135 kilometre-long piece of land that is both beautiful and historical. The thought that a person riding a train in 1912 might be feeling the very same emotion in 2012, in the very same place, inspired this series of stories. All proceeds from the sale of this book go to G2G Rail Trail Inc. to maintain these beloved trails. Author, Hayley Linfield, resides in Goderich, Ontario and was the winner of the Alice Munro Short Story Festival in 2012. Her works have appeared in a variety of e-zines, newspapers, and magazines.
I think all good writing starts with one small idea that you can't let go of.
I am a grammar snob in some cases (I cringe at the rampant misuse of 'nauseous' and 'lay') but not in other cases (I fully admit to saying 'the n'other one' and I don't think sentences need to be complete.)
I love it when people give me modern books by new authors. Otherwise I would live in Charlotte Bronte's world forever.
