Sunset Ridge #4

Love & Moosechief

Rate this book
★★★★★This is a fun series and I love the quirky moose who has a part in each story.
★★★★★I loved this book so much, love this author a whole lot too. These stories she writes are just wonderful and you just can't read just one.
★★★★★What a fun read! A nice clean romance with no foul language and tinged with humor...
★★★★★Wow! Who wouldn't cheer for Ryder and Kinley to get together?! The day I left my hometown, I swore I'd never return. I've worked hard to build my military career and plan to be a lifer. If it weren't for the letter left behind by my late mother, Sunset Ridge would've stayed in the past where it belonged. My plans to slip into town and stay under the radar while I seek out the identity of my father are quickly derailed when a near-miss with the town's favorite moose causes me to swerve off the road and crash right into the town sign. Just my luck that the first person to find me is police chief Ryder Grant. The boy who gave me my first kiss is all grown up and not at all amused. Considering my history with this town, I should steer clear of the grumpy cop. But the truth is? I don't want to.

Not gonna lie....this one almost made me cry with Rowdy's plot points.

Kinley and Ryder just keep showing the matchmaking that Ed is involved in. He's like the soulmate moose lol. Another short and sweet addition to Sunset Ridge. I just love how in love these men are with these women.

Welcome Ed the moose back as he makes Kinley James swerve into Sunset Ridge’s welcome sign to avoid hitting him with her car. Kinley is trying to sneak quietly back to town to see if she can find out information about her father. Kinley hadn’t planned to have to see Police Chief Ryder Grant, but he was the one investigating her little accident. Kinley and Ryder used to be friends, shared their first kiss together, but she had walked away when her mom died. Now she was finding it difficult to prove to him that a moose caused her to run into the welcome sign since Ed was long gone.

Ryder’s fiancée had left him at the altar with a broken heart. He had avoided relationships for the past couple of years. But having Kinley return to town is stirring up old feelings. Could Kinley give him a second chance at real love? Could they find out if that first kiss way back then could lead to more? But even if she wanted to stay, what about her plans to continue her life in the military?

Ed, the bull moose “town mascot” appears out of nowhere and has an effect on the storyline in multiple incidents. (Yes, in Alaska, stray moose appear, even in town - I’ve seen it.) The book starts with Ed causing Kinley James to accidentally hit the town welcome sign. It would have to be a huge sign. Sigh!

Of course the police officer called out to the scene happens to be the one guy who, as a high school boy, gave Kinley her first kiss - none other than Ryder Grant. Wouldn’t you know it just had to be him! Kinley didn’t exactly leave town in good standing when she entered the Air Force, and now this has to happen on her first trip back home.

Kinley is just trying to help her Aunt Fiona who suffered a broken arm. Well, to be honest, she does have an ulterior motive; she decides it’s time to find out who her father is. Since her mother never divulged the answer (and she’s been dead a while now) Kinley hopes the letter she is finally following up on will help her answer a decades-old question.

This is a fun, clean romance with just a hint of mystery.

Solid 4.5 star
Kinley and Ryder have a sweet and bitter history and now she is back in town after 9 years trying to stay under the radar while she looks to uncover a secret hidden from her since she was old enough to ask. The attraction between her and Ryder is undeniable but there are secrets, a past and a future she thought she always wanted in their way which leaves you second guessing whether their is a future together for them. I loved how they were both so closed off to beginning with and slowly opening their hearts to what could be and learning of the high jinks Kinley use to get up to has you laughing, you are frustrated for Ryder for the work situation he is on and then there is that secret Kinley needs to know has you turning the page and going through the highs and lows along with them.

I think my favourite part about all of the books so far, the characters adopt an older dog, one that might not stay in a shelter too long. They could go to a breeder, these characters don’t seem to be lacking in funds to spend extra on “the perfect puppy”, instead, they choose an older or senior dog.

I realize this is only the fourth book in the series, and I am thoroughly enjoying them. I appreciate the lack of sex mentioned or depicted; too many books seem to focus a lot on the “steamy sex scenes” like the story depends on it.

The one part of the story that bugged me, Ed was standing in the middle of the road, we know he does this, this was the same introduction Tessa had when she avoided Ed and got her rental stuck, although, she didn’t take out a sign, and Liam physically saw Ed standing in the road. I don’t understand why nobody believed that Ed did it again. This was basically my only issue with the book.

I love Ed. He always seems to be in the right place at the right time. While back in Sunset Ridge, Kinley gets up close to Ed when she swerves to miss him and takes down the town sign instead. Who is the first person to show up? The town’s Chief of Police Ryder Grant. Kinley and Ryder used to be friends until she pushed him away after her mom died. I’m not going to leave any spoilers, but I will say I really enjoyed this fast read. If you enjoy small town romance with a matchmaking moose, grab your copy and get ready to want to visit Sunset Ridge yourself. I’m so glad Kinley was able to get some answers to her questions.

I am so pleased that's it's Ryder's turn for a HEA! I've enjoyed getting to know him better and to see him and Kinley get a second chance at what never was. Their friendship was evident as was their chemistry, I was hoping that they would find a way to get what they both wanted. There were sad moments to this story, but they were mixed with love, laughter, friends, family, trips down memory lane, hope, dreams, forgiveness, the truth, insights, a wonderful dog, and of course Ed. I so want to read Laurel's story after the disclosure this story gave and I am looking forward to Ava's story as there is definitely something between her and Brayden.

Kinley left town for the Army, never looking back. When he aunt needs help, she uses that as an excuse to come back. What she really wants is to find out who her father is. But it took her too long to come home, and the one person who knows is dead. Ryder is the police chief. He and Kinley shared their first kiss, and he stayed in Sunset Ridge. This book is a terrific addition to this series. The quirky characters in town, especially Ed, the moose, add to much dimension to this small-town story. I love how much Kinley shakes things up when she returns - picking up her friendship with Ava, renewing her relationship with Aunt Fiona, causing a big stir with the mayor, and touching Ryder's heart.

I loved the first book I read in this series and this book was equally good. An early appearance by Ed the moose creates havoc for Kinley especially when the local police chief Ryder arrives and turns out to be her old high school friend. Ryder was left standing at the altar 2 years ago and now has a completed jaded view of relationships. Kinley wants to leave as soon as possible to rejoin the army but has come home to get answers. Lots of humour, wonderful dogs and cats, the elusive moose and small town characters who love to meddle. A fun story, looking forward to the next one.

Loved this sweet romance with Kinley and Ryder who were good friends growing up until she left as soon as she graduated high school for the military. Years later she returns to help her aunt that helped raise her when she broke her arm when she runs into the town's friendly moose Ed. Sheriff Ryder comes to her rescue and quickly they are thrown together and reconnect as friends. Ryder never wanted to fall in love again after he was left at the alter by the girl he dated since high school but the more time he spends with Kinley the more he falls for her and she is due back to the army if she wants to re-enlist but she is not sure that is what she wants.

I really enjoyed this addition to the Sunset Ridge Sweet Romance Series. Kinley and Ryder were close when they were young but when Kinley was finally able to leave home she left without ever planning on coming back. Now nine years later Kinley is back, she is sure she has her future planned out but maybe she needs to revise her plans. Getting the chance to make things right with Ryder and spending time with friends and family make staying sound like a better future.

I laughed, enjoyed and couldn't stop reading Love & Moosechief. Kinley comes to her old town to try to find out who her father is after all this time and instead runs into the town sign. With her luck, Police Chief Ryder comes along and he brings back memories of when they first kissed years ago. I think if you enjoy small towns and first loves you will enjoy this read.

An enjoyable story that will give you moments when you can 't help but laugh out loud. The story captures your attention and pull you in so you may find it hard to put the book down at time. The characters are well developed and a joy to get to know and you'll easily fall in love with them. A sweet, heartwarming romance to add to your end of summer reading list.

Kinley thinks Ed the moose is out to get her when she returns to her hometown. His sudden appearances, then disappearances, cause her to have to deal with issues she left behind her in Sunset Ridge, Alaska. Will she ever forget her first kiss with Ryder, who is now the Police Chief?
I love this series so much! I always am anticipating the next book.

This is a sweet clean romance. This is the first book I have read by this author and I didn't realize it is part of a series so that easily explains why I felt like I was missing a lot of back story explanations. That being said, the story was really cute and I love the feel of Sunset Ridge Alaska. I will be looking for more books by this author. I will especially look for Ava and Brayden's story.

Love & Moosechief

Ryder is told he had to take vacation for at least ten days when a shady lawyer shows up in town . Kinley has just knocked over the welcome to town sign while trying to avoid hitting Ed the moose. Ryder is the first person to come upon the accident scene and he his the police chief. They have a history of a shared first kiss as teens and Kinley had history of being a troublemaker.

I liked Ryder and Kinley but I don’t think their “before” first kiss and first love status was as felt and developed as it could have been to be more “real”. Their love moving forward was fun and I appreciated Ed more in this one. I did appreciate the mischief but I also don’t feel like Ryder’s leave was wrapped up and well developed with the case gone wrong. It just seemed to end with an investigation that never went anywhere.

I love this town and it’s characters. There is always something going on and it’s incredibly fun to read these books! I loved the teasers we got in this book for at least the next two books (better be!!). I liked the bit of mystery and the sweet second chance. Plus, Ed, always a character!

That pesky moose Ed causing trouble again. This time he reconnected Kenley with Ryder, her first kiss... Such fun light hearted stories, I enjoyed this one just like the others. A great read when you need a happy moment.

That moose

Ed is at it again, he causes Kinley to wreck and take down the town's sign. Ryder is the first on the scene. What's the signface of that, see they were each other's first kiss. Can they make it work? Read and find out.

Kinley and Ryder

Ryder is the police chief of the town. Kinley went to high school with him. Now she's back for a visit, as her aunt broke her wrist. She had joined the army, right out of high school and hadn't been back. Now she's back to get answers to who her father is.

Cute Second Chances

I liked both main characters and how they reconnected. I tend to like slower burns, and this had a lot of those feelings and that buildup. I do wish the ending came about more as Kinley planned.
