This was...good. Surprisingly so, for a free Kindle book. You could definitely lump it in with the Percy Jackson milieu, but it has a different, more serious feel to it. And a serious lack of female characters. But the sequel was free and I immediately downloaded it because I enjoyed the first one so much.

Awesome book for teenage boys. (Well any teenager, or teen at heart.)
