I loved the medieval setting, I adored the heroine! she was an angel so it really bothered me that hero was contemplating bringing a mistress to live nearby. She wanted to be the perfect wife for him but he was an asshole even though his love confession at the end was swoon-worthy. Still I am not sure I forgive him. Also the sex scenes were rated G! Not steamy at all!

4.5 stars, loved this book, loved the medieval setting always one of my favorites. Hero sieges the castle and the heroine's sister begs her to trade places with her. Hero forces her to marry, but lets her know that he is aware of the deception. Pretty hot and steamy book!

The only thing I didn't like about the hero was him contemplating bringing a mistress to live in the village. I don't think it was realistic the way the heroine acted in that time period. I really liked the book and I want to read more from the author!

A wonderful story that will make you laugh and cry!! I love all of Holt's books. She is one of the few authors who dont add a bunch of wordy paragraphs but instead keeps the reader turning pages and falling in love with the characters.

I never believed that Rosemunde, Anne's half-sister, cares and loves Anne. She was a hypocrite like her mother.

Lord Hugh has been given the Morven Castle and lands when the prior owner is hung for treason. He is given the option of marrying the daughter or removing the family and marrying elsewhere. Rosamunde, the daughter convinces her bastard sister, Anne, to pose as her and put Hugh off until her mother returns home. Anne has determined to enter a convent because she is an outcast at the castle, but goes along with the deception to keep the peace. But Hush doesn't wait for the traitor's widow to return but determines to wed immediately and he likes Anne's spirit. He is not fooled by the trade. Once the wedding is held despite Anne's objections, she determines to make the best of things since maybe now she can create a real home. Hugh and Anne are both insecure and mistrustful. The traitor's family causes problems and people in Hugh's past cause issues. Good story.
