Basically as long as I’ve been literate I’ve been inclined towards grabbing weird confusing looking things typically sorted on poetry shelves on used bookstores and basically every time I’m disappointed. Anyway did it again today but this ain’t terrible or anything, some intriguing stuff and authors to dig into, but definitely very very dated to late 90’s cyberculture which is something I just have no taste for, I read shit like “the cyborg went to Club Fascistland” and I’m just begging these people to write some real prose. As usually ends up being the case with “books like this” I gravitate a lot towards many of the concepts (this is ostensibly a literary magazine but there are comics-of-sorts, fake ads, sheet music, conceptual land art projects, etc etc etc) and dislike almost all of it aesthetically. Such is life. I went to another bookstore after this one and you’ll never be able to guess what happened,
