Elite Guardians Collection

Christmas in the Crosshairs

Rate this book
It’s Christmastime and love is in the air. But when these three Elite Guardians walk into the crosshairs of trouble, they find themselves fighting not just for justice, but for the lives of the men they love in this riveting thriller collection!

Deadly Holiday Hijack by Kate Angelo

“Come out to Savannah, she says. It’ll be fun, she says. Boss can be in the nativity pageant, she says,” Yeah. Great idea.

Bodyguard Christina Sherman and her fiancé, former spec ops air commando Grey Parker just want to sneak away to beautiful Savannah, attend a Nativity Pageant, maybe set a wedding date. But when a group of terrorists take over the church and the whole thing is live streamed, they find themselves in a hometown version of a Die Hard Christmas movie. But will they make it to the happy ending?

Silent Night Siege by Kelly Underwood

Billionaire Preston Whittaker and bodyguard Laila Rabbinowitz just can’t get a break. Not only are their schedules so crazy they’ve put their relationship on simmer, but on their way to the mountains for much-needed togetherness…yep, their plane crashes. Suddenly they’re stranded on a remote mountainside in freezing temperatures, minimal food, wildlife, and no hope of rescue.

And then, the real danger starts. Someone deliberately caused the wreck, and that person is hunting them through the wilderness.

Now, it’ll take more than togetherness to survive…

Christmas Snowstorm Standoff by Sami A. Abrams

It’s finally time for bodyguard Lizzie Tremaine to tie the knot with the man she’s loved for years—fellow bodyguard Charlie Lee.

But maybe fate is still against them, because on the eve of their big day, a snowstorm hits. And, while it’s kept the guests away, it’s brought trouble in the form of a woman from Charlie’s past. More, she’s on the run from a killer…

A man who will stop at nothing to make sure Charlie and Lizzie never make it to the altar.

Now Lizzie and Charlie must battle the storm, stop the killer, and defeat the doubts that suddenly have them wondering if they are truly meant to be.

Three epic love stories. Three edge-of-your-seat thrillers. Three Christmases caught in the Crosshairs inspired by best-selling author Lynette Eason’s Elite Guardian series.

These three romantic suspense stories are written by some of my favourite authors. I haven’t read any of the Elite Guardian series, so if you haven’t either, know that you can still enjoy each story as a standalone.

1) Deadly Holiday Hijack - Kate Angelo

Bodyguard Christina Sherman and her fiancé, former spec ops commando Grey Parker, take on terrorists who have infiltrated their church's Nativity pageant.

The plot centers on discovering what this group intended to do with a church full of hostages. It had fantastic nail-biting tension and a great sense of urgency created by a ticking clock scenario. I appreciated the reminders to stay focused, to allow God to lead, and the value in learning to compartmentalize. I’ll remember this book for what it taught me about vigilance and not underestimating my enemy!

2) Silent Night Siege - Kelly Underwood

Bodyguard Laila Rabbinowitz and billionaire Preston Whittaker are on a plane heading to the mountains for some R&R when they crash.

The plot is centered around finding out if someone could have deliberately knocked their plane out of the sky. Survival mode kicks in before they plan their rescue. I appreciated the reminders to make time for what really matters and to always be prepared. I’ll remember this book for what it taught me about relying on my plans rather than relying on God to see me through His plans.

3) Christmas Snowstorm Standoff - Sami A. Abrams

Bodyguard Lizzie Tremaine and bodyguard Charlie Lee are putting the finishing touches on their wedding venue during a snowstorm the night before the big event, when their past comes knocking at the door.

This story is centered around learning to share our fears and not letting them control us. I appreciated the lessons about staying focused so that we don’t make poor choices and about the futility in questioning God’s plan. I’ll remember this book for the reminder that (1) we all make mistakes, but it’s what we do about them that counts, and (2) “when God is behind it, it’s perfect, no matter the timing.”

Set at Christmas time, Christmas in the Crosshairs is about Christina and Grey, Laila and Parker, and Lizzie and Charlie.
Deadly Christmas Hijack starts off with Christina and Grey attending Christina's nephew's Christmas pageant at a mega church. What was supposed to be a pleasant night suddenly turns deadly. Christina and Grey, while being careful not to get captured, must take down the terrorists who is holding the audience hostage before time runs out.
In Silent Night Siege, Laila and Parker's plane crashes on their way to Colorado. The two of them must not only survive the harsh winter elements in the mountains but are being hunted by Laila's ex-fiancé who is after her.
Finally in Christmas Snowstorm Standoff, when Charlie's ex-wife appears at the ranch where Charlie and Lizzie are holding their wedding at in Montana, they are thrust into a deadly situation where they must stop a killer. Sami A. Abrams did a wonderful job of keeping the killer's identity a secret, and what a surprise it was.
Each of the couples had obstacles they had to face relationship wise, whether it was lack of communication and misunderstanding, busy schedules, or fears and hesitations about getting married.
Filled with suspense and danger, Christmas in the Crosshairs will keep you on the edge of your seat and flipping the pages until the end.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was such an action packed and exciting novella collection. You could certainly enjoy it even if you haven’t read the books in the Elite Guardians Collection. However, you will definitely get more out of these stories if you have, because the three novellas feature the three couples from that series. Each novella was so fun to read!

In the first story, Deadly Holiday Hijack, there were so many gasp out loud moments! I loved watching Grey and Christina work together, even as Grey fought his frustration at being limited with his wheelchair. They were both amazing and their training and backgrounds really showed through in this story.

In the second story, Silent Night Siege, there was a terrifying plane crash, which was only the beginning of the danger for Preston and Laila. I really felt for both of them, as it was so clear that they loved each other, yet they had found themselves prioritizing work over time together recently.

In the last story, Christmas Snowstorm Standoff, Lizzie and Charlie were only a couple of days away from their wedding when everything that could go wrong seemed to, which included a shooter terrorizing the ranch they were preparing to hold their wedding at. I liked watching these two strategize together and work to protect the people who were at the ranch while also working to figure out who was behind the danger.

This collection and the entire series is one I definitely recommend for fans of romantic suspense.

(4.5 stars)

I received a complimentary copy of the book, but ended up reading it on Kindle Unlimited. All opinions are my own.

Deadly Holiday Attack
Kate Angelo
5/5

Christina and Grey head to Savannah for the Christmas play her nephew is in at her sister’s church. Boss also makes a guest appearance in the play and also does a wonderful job protecting Rocco when things go haywire during a terrorist attack at the megachurch. A crazy mad man thought he could cause a terrorist disruption at the church during the play. That was before he realized Christina and Grey were in attendance.

Silent Night Siege
Kelly Underwood
5/5

Laila and Preston thought they were going to have a few days together before Lizzie and Charlie’s wedding when they boarded Preston’s private plane in Columbia, South Carolina. The relaxing flight was not to be when the plane lost power and crashed. Laila’s nightmare past resurfaced as they traipsed through snowy mountains. Laila was no longer the bodyguard as she and Preston had to work together.

Christmas Snowstorm Standoff
Sami A. Abrams
5/5

Lizzie and Charlie thought the days leading up to their wedding would be quiet as they prepared. With the snowstorm came trouble in the form of Charlie’s ex-girlfriend and an intruder on the ranch bent on murder.

These novellas will do the trick to get you in the mood for Christmas. It’s amazing to watch God work in each of their lives to bring them through the immediate danger and their futures. I recommend reading the previous three Elite Guardians stories before Christmas in the Crosshairs to understand the characters and their ties together. I devoured the previous stories and Christmas in the Crosshairs from these awesome authors.

Well done Kate, Sami and Kelly!

“Deadly Holiday Hijack” by Kate Angelo
The novella begins at a nice Christmas celebration at the local church. Kids running around. Animals. Soft music. Then all chaos breaks through as masked terrorists break into the church and put a sizable number of the participates into a hostage situation. Angelo plays around with the idea of two agents in the other part of the church when the incident goes down in the sanctuary. The plot has been done, but it was interesting to see how Angelo uses some of the character’s strengths to their best ability to defeat the bad guys. There was plenty of action packed in a little novella. Doubts about romance between the main heroine and hero were brought to the surface and worked through. Nicely managed for about two hours’ worth of time.

“Silent Night Siege” by Kelly Underwood
Underwood throws the character under the plane in the first chapter. In the novella, she does focus on survival skills and running from a Russian threat. The characters’ fear in the beginning is not spending enough time together, but they come to realize through this incident that they could spend more time together, and they are an impressive duo who works well together. The plot moves quickly with plenty of moments where readers will think that the character’s end is going to come. However, Underwood has them quick to think on their feet and work well off each other. The romance is more of not wanting to see the person they love die at the hands of the Russians who are threatening them. Nicely little punch in the snowy mountains.

“Christmas Snowstorm Standoff” by Sami A. Abrahams
Abrahams throw the bride and groom for a ringer two days before their wedding. What is better than having the someone from the past make an appearance that make both the future bride and groom wonder if their wedding is even going to happen. Plenty of action to keep the readers flipping through the pages. I love the setting. Twenty inches of snow. A lodge. Three days before Christmas. A Christmas wedding. Just like the previous two novellas in this short story collection, Abraham makes the two characters wonder about their relationship. Of course, a continues thread through all three novellas is coming together to make these two characters wedding on Christmas Eve. The characters discuss what readers had read in the earlier novellas and move forward in the story. A subtle way to tie these three sets of couples together.

I received a complimentary copy of Christmas in the Crosshairs by Lynette Eason, Kate Angelo, Kelly Underwood, and Sami A. Abrahams from Sunrise Publishing through JustRead Tours, but the opinions stated are all my own.

Have I mentioned how much I like this band of authors? They do such a great job as they weave together the ever-expanding Elite Guardians family. The thing I love about these combined novellas is they jump us right into the action and keep us on our reading to the very end.
Deadly Holiday Hijack by Kate Angelo
I really enjoyed getting to see more of Christina and Grey in action as they attend a Nativity Pageant in Savannah, Georgia. Together they work to navigate through the Die Hard-like siege of terrorists at the mega church where the Pageant is about to get underway with Boss in the mix. Angelo captured my heart and my attention from page 1. I like how she brought all the pieces together and the characters she led through the mix. Shout out to the character portraying unique medical challenges and for Angelo's willingness to brave that territory.
Silent Night Siege by Kelly Underwood
Lilia and Preston are on the move, headed out for a little R & R before Charlie and Lizzie's wedding, when their plane crashes on the mountainside in the Rockies. When they realize the crash was intentional, they find themselves on the run with nowhere to go and no idea who they're running from. What an adventure they have! Underwood kept me engaged and quickly turning to the pages to see what would come next.
Christmas Snowstorm Standoff by Sami A. Abrams
Charlie and Lizzie are trying to determine if God is trying to tell them something as a snowstorm hits and a killer brings a woman from Charlie's past to the wedding venue doorstep. Are they better as work partners or are they really meant to be family partners? Abrams keeps readers guessing as multiple threads weave throughout the story. Will fans be able to guess the ending to this saga?
Thank you, Sunrise Publishing, for the opportunity to read and review these stories. All opinions are my own.

I loved The Elite Guardian series by Lynette Eason. So, when I saw this book, I was like, "Yes, please!" I love the idea of more of the guardians! I failed to realize this book has the characters from the Elite Guardians Collection by Kate Angelo, Sami A. Abrams, and Kelly Underwood. This collection is enjoyable even if you haven't read their books, but expect mild spoilers.

Deadly Holiday Hijack by Kate Angelo

Deadly Holiday Hijack starts all sweet and innocent. Christina and Grey are in Savannah for a Nativity Play, then, bam! An entire church is taken hostage by terrorists. What should have been an enjoyable evening turns into the longest night of their lives. Tensions run higher when Christina and Gray fake fight to get the attention of some of the terrorists, and they begin to wonder if the fight is fake at all. It gets worse when the attack gets more personal. While this is a short novella, the author does a fabulous job of making it feel like a full story.

★★★★★/5

Silent Night Siege by Kelly Underwood

I did not read the synopsis before starting Silent Night Siege, but I knew from the moment Preston and Laila got on the plane that it was going to crash. The way it happens is creative, but the outcome is exactly what you would expect. The plot moved quickly, the characters were likable, and the story had a nice resolution. I did find the dialogue stilted in parts, which diminished my enjoyment just a bit.

★★★/5

Christmas Snowstorm Standoff by Sami A. Abrams

Lizzie and Charlie are ready for their wedding guests to arrive at a ranch in Montana when a snowstorm strikes. While they are worrying about whether any of their family and friends are going to be able to make it, they see a lady stumbling down the driveway in the snow. As if that wasn't unexpected enough, their rescue turns deadly when an unknown assailant fires shots. Everyone at the ranch seems to have enemies, which makes it hard to narrow down who the target is and who the shooter could be.

This one had a few unexpected moments, some tender moments, and leaves you with the happily ever after you expect.

★★★★/5

This book was a collection of 3 novellas based on characters from Lynette Eason's Elite Guardians series, but they were written by authors other than Eason. After reading all 3, I thought the title was somewhat misleading as the focus of all three was definitely on the suspense with little narrative spent on the Christimas focus. I also felt like the suspense was pretty heavy to be titled as a Christmas read. The stories were well written; but because of the aforementioned points, I felt I could not give it a 4 or a 5.

I really enjoyed "Christmas in the Crosshairs by Kate Angelo, Kelly Underwood and Sami Abrams. I loved how the main characters in each story were reunited in the last book! All three books has lots of action and a little romance. Each book was a quick easy read. I liked reading three different authors and the different writing styles. I highly recommend this book!

Christmas in the Crosshairs is the perfect novella to get you in the Christmas spirit!  These three short stories are full of suspense and just enough holiday romance to get you in the mood for a Hallmark movie too. I loved reconnecting with the Elite Guardians & all the great characters these authors have created for us to gasp about! Looking forward to reading more page turning adventures from Underwood, Angelo & Abrams.

Suspense + Romance + Holiday Events = 3 Great Reads!

I had the good fortune to read all three of the original novels in the Elite Guardians Collection. Now these three talented authors have joined together to bring readers an entertaining, spine-tingling, heartwarming collection of stories set during the Christmas holidays.

* ~ 'Deadly Holiday Hijack' by Kate Angelo: The main characters of this story, Grey Parker and Christina Sherman, are two of my favorite fictional characters in this series. The couple is engaged, but they have not yet set their wedding date. This story is turbo-paced and is set in a church where the congregation has come together to see the annual Christmas pageant. Through their ingenuity, faith in each other—and in the Lord—and Grey's 'make-do' science experiments, the couple navigates through a maze of villains and fear. A satisfying ending will please fans of this genre.

* ~ 'Silent Night Siege' by Kelly Underwood: An airplane crash kicks this cat-and-mouse story into full gear when Preston Whittaker and his fiancée and former bodyguard, Laila Rabbinowitz, are pursued by an evil man from her past. This tale of survival is filled with action and danger in the treacherous Rocky Mountains. Preston and Laila discover more about themselves and their relationship than they expected as they work together to save themselves from a horrible fate. Once again, the quick thinking of both characters creates a satisfying read for fans of this genre.

* ~ 'Christmas Snowstorm Standoff' by Sami A. Abrams: Bodyguards Charlie Lee and Lizzie Tremaine have arrived a few days early to the Montana ranch where their destination wedding will be held on Christmas Eve. A series of frightening events, a massive snowstorm, and a surprise guest keep the action moving from start to finish in this unique plot. Doubts fill the mind of both main characters as their wedding approaches, but through their faith in the Lord and their love for each other they work through their difficulties. A touching final chapter made this an excellent read for me.

All of the stories are completely clean in language and content. A strong faith thread is woven through each story, and I enjoyed the inclusion of a combination of various series characters in each individual story.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher through JustRead Publicity Tours. All of my thoughts and opinions shared here are solely my own.

What a lovely way to spend a few hours, catching up with some of the Elite Guardians and being a part of their ongoing relationships. From learning to work together as couples to realizing that some things are worth the fight to protect, all three stories reminded the reader that the Lord needs to be in the middle of it all.

Christmas in the Crosshairs (by Kate Angelo, Sami A. Abrams, Kelly Underwood, and Lynette Eason) is an anthology that delivers a thrilling combination of suspense, danger, romance, and faith during the Christmas season! The three novellas feature engaging couples facing intense challenges. The storytelling is top-notch.

Deadly Holiday Hijack
This story had my blood pumping with a hostage situation at a church Nativity pageant. I enjoyed the dynamics between Christina and Grey, and the secondary characters (including Boss!) are just as interesting.

Silent Night Siege
Laila and Preston took me on a heart-pounding ride as their plane crashes! And as if a crash isn’t enough—they’re hunted through the mountains by someone from Laila’s past. Yikes!

Christmas Snowstorm Standoff
Lizzie and Charlie are getting married, but a snowstorm and a killer jeopardize their plans for their happily-ever-after. The unfolding events had me speeding reading.

Each story offers surprises, moments of faith, fast-paced action, and tender moments for a satisfying reading experience.

Story # 1- Deadly Holiday Hijack- Bodyguard Christina Sherman & her fiance, Grey Parker, former special ops air command, go to a Nativity Pageant when terrorists take over the church. Lots of tense moments and non-stop action. It had me on the edge of my seat!

Story #2- Silent Night Seige- Laila & Preston head for a two-week vacation in Colorado. Laila is an Elite Guardian bodyguard and Preston is a billionaire client & CEO of Whittaker Enterprises. They find themselves in a bad situation. Lots of twists and turns I didn't see coming.

Story #3- Christmas Snowstorm Standoff- Lizzie & Charlie are at Wild Sapphire Ranch in Montana to relax before their Christmas Eve wedding. The Elite Guardians and family are supposed to attend, but because of snowy weather, may not make it. Things get even more complicated when they find a woman lying in the snow and shots fired. Lots of action, suspense, and twists in this one too.

All three stories had me second-guessing the outcome. Most times it was a surprise and an unlikely twist. The characters were well-developed with many layers. The action was non-stop. Highly recommended.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher. A positive review was not required and all my opinions are my own.

Do you like the movie, Die Hard, that some people call a Christmas classic movie? If so, Christmas in the Cross hairs by Kate Angelo, Kelly Underwood and Sami A. Abrams with Lynette Eason may be right up your alley. This book includes three suspenseful novellas:Deadly Holiday Hijack, Silent Night Siege, Christmas Snowstorm Standoff.

Deadly Holiday Hijack by Kate Angelo features a plot to hijack a megachurch on the Christmas pageant night. Bodyguard Christina Sherman and her fiance Grey Parker went to Savannah to watch their nephew in a Christmas program. . .but as the action and terror heat up, it doesn't look like a program will take place. How will they get the bad guys?

Silent Night Seige by Kelly Underwood details Billionaire Preston Whittaker and bodyguard Laila Rabbinowitz plane flight as they head to some friends' wedding. Laila has ticked off a bad guy who is on the loose and out to get them. Will he succeed? Will Preston and Laila see the value in their relationship before it is too late?

Christmas Snowstorm Standoff by Sami A. Abrams concludes the trio of novellas with the wedding of Lizzie Tremaine and Charlie Lee. The couple's wedding is just a couple of days away when a huge snowstorm hits Montana where the wedding will take place. As if that isn't bad enough, a potentional killer is on the loose at the ranch with suspects galore. Who is this bad guy and can they get him in time?

This trio of novellas is centered around the Christmas season. They all feature a mix of suspense and romance for the reader who enjoys the heart-pounding adventures mixed with romantic moments. This book also wraps up Lynette Eason's Elite Guardians series, but it isn't necessary to have read the series to enjoy the book.

Will these 3 couples survive to see Christmas...

I have been really enjoying the Elite Guardians series originated by Lynette Eason so when I found out there would be a Christmas novella collection written by the same three authors who penned each of the previous three books, well, I was pretty excited. Christmas In The Crosshairs turned out to be everything I have come to anticipate in the series.

Kate Angelo, Kelly Underwood, and Sami A. Abrams deliver plenty of drama, danger, and romance for their respective characters and for their readers. Each couple faces a different life changing step; one must set a date for their wedding, one must choose whether to make the altar the next step in their relationship, and the third must decide whether their impending ceremony is where they are supposed to be. Of course, all of them just need to survive long enough to be able to make those decisions.

Christmas In The Crosshairs is a great addition to the Elite Guardians series and I loved how I could sit down and read a complete story in just one fairly quick sitting. It was also fun how each one was independent but at the same time loosely built on each other. Kate Angelo's Deadly Hijack saw the characters anticipating the upcoming wedding that Kelly Underwood's Silent Night Siege were on the way to attend while Sami A. Abrams' Christmas Snowstorm Standoff were waiting for their friends to arrive for the big day.

So, if you are in the Christmas mood for a little faith-filled romantic suspense and you are a fan of the Elite Guardians, may I suggest Christmas In The Crosshairs as your next exciting read...

Deadly Holiday Hijack by Kate Angelo
This is not your average cozy Christmas story! This story hits the ground running and never really eases up in intensity! The pace is quick, the danger is looming, and I was reminded how much I love these two characters! Grey is just absolutely brilliant and capable in a crisis and Christina is cunning and fierce! What a perfect team! The conclusion is crazy intense! This one did not disappoint!

Silent Night Siege by Kelly Underwood
Wow! This story never really let up in its intensity or danger factor! One unexpected disaster leads to another in this action packed survival story. Preston and Laila are back and they have some major obstacles to overcome in order to have their happily ever after. Plane crashes, explosions and stun guns are just a tiny taste of what awaits this couple ad they trek through the wilderness trying to survive the unexpected!!

Christmas Snowstorm Standoff by Sami A. Abrams
This story was full of danger and intensity! A snowstorm combined with a suspected killer that just won’t quit! There were intense moments and several twists that kept me guessing! The faith thread was strong and genuine as Lizzie has to trust God with Charlie’s safety. I enjoyed this story and was happy with the conclusion as we got to see each of the elite guardians find their happy ending!

An exciting new Christmas collection!

Christmas in the Crosshairs delivers three thrilling romances perfect for the upcoming Christmas season. Each story revisits a couple for the Elite Guardians collection, and there is no shortage of action-packed, edge-of-your-seat suspense and surprises.

As a lover of Christmas stories, I enjoyed this anthology so much (even though I have not yet read the entire series). Each story proves to be a quick, engaging read that kept me guessing, but rooting for the couple at the center of the danger. I had a lot of fun, and I'm sure that other readers of (Christmas) romantic suspense will, too.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and the opportunity to provide an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review, and all the opinions I have expressed are my own.

I can't wait for y'all to read this Anthology with the Elite Guardian team! Kate Angelo, Kelly Underwood, and Sami A. Abrams have done a great job keeping you on the edge of your seat wondering what comes next with each page you turn.

Deadly Holiday Hijack by Kate Angelo shares a gripping tale about bodyguard Christina Sherman and her fiancé, Grey Parker. A romantic, weekend getaway becomes an action-packed and dangerous trip for them.

Silent Night Siege by Kelly Underwood lets us peek into the rocky relationship of bodyguard Laila Rabinowitz and her boyfriend—not boyfriend—billionaire Preston Whittaker. Will their relationship survive? More than that, will they survive the plane crash they're in?

Christmas Snowstorm by Sami A. Abrams is about bodyguard Lizzie Tremaine and her fiancé and fellow bodyguard Charlie Lee. Will the snow storm keep them from walking down the aisle on their wedding day? Or will it be a killer that does?

Three epic love stories. Three edge-of-your-seat thrillers. Three Christmases caught in the Crosshairs inspired by my Elite Guardian series. What a fun time watching these authors create this anthology with my Elite Guardian Bodyguards!

Christmas in the Crosshairs is a compilation of three very well written, easy to read stories. These stories are written by three different authors that focus on three couples connected to the Elite Guardians series by Lynette Eason. Having not read that series it was very easy for me to read and enjoy these stories. I enjoyed them so much I plan to read the series. These stories are fast paced stories that are filled with action, suspense, mystery and of course romance and Christmas season weddings. It is hard to pick a favorite as they are all so good. I enjoyed the different setting for the stories. Deadly Holiday Hijack by Kate Angelo it was a Christmas program at a church in Savannah. Silent Night Siege by Kelly Underwood is in the mountains after a plane crash. And, Christmas Snowstorm Standoff by Sami A. Abrams is at a farm/wedding venue in Montana during a major snow storm. In each of the stories the team is confronted with danger when what they planned was a time with those they loved.

This is a wonderful set of stories that will be enjoyed by anyone who enjoys romantic suspense stories. I voluntarily received a complimentary copy of this book. This is my honest review.

Christmas in the Crosshairs: A Christmas Anthology
by Kate Angelo, Sami A. Abrams, Kelly Underwood, and Lynette Eason
Book 4 in the Elite Guardians series
Rating: 4/5

What a ride! As a huge fan of this series and these fresh authors, I was super impressed at how much they packed into three novellas. Each story was well written and further developed the characters I’ve already grown to care about. I definitely recommend reading the previous novels or else it will be harder to follow along. The stories are really in-depth despite the shorter length. The character development was quite impressive. Each story was unique and had some faith woven into the stories. The situations these characters got into were crazy and definitely stress-inducing. I liked how the authors did not shy away from addressing the characters’ insecurities and fears in a realistic manner.

Highly recommend this fantastic fast-paced read that will keep you guessing what comes next!

My thanks to the author and publisher for providing me with an ARC of the book. All opinions expressed here are entirely my own. No positive review was expected and no compensation received.

I never know what to expect when it comes to novella's, since it can be hard for the story to gain much momentum before it ends. That was not the case with this book! I think it helped that each of the main characters had a full length novel before this book, so it's like returning to catch up with old friends. I love the holiday theme and the variety of high stake adventures each couple goes through. I would recommend reading the full length stories before picking this collection up, though each of the stories can be enjoyed without doing so. This is an enjoyable collection to pick up and enjoy before Christmas!

Deadly Holiday Hijack (Kate Angelo)

1. How did you feel about the setting?

Certainly! Savannah, Georgia, is so close to home that it undeniably immersed me in the story.

2. What do potential readers need to know most about the main character?

Elite Guardian bodyguard Christina Sherman is caught in the crossfire during a takedown.

3. Which supporting character caught your interest the most?

Christina depended on Grey Parker, her trusted battle companion, who served as her unwavering frontline defense.

4. What journey do(es) the main character(s) take?

Tomas Munoz firmly held the belief that every action bears consequences, especially when someone betrays him by stabbing him in the back. A remarkable Belgian Malinois named Boss, previously retired but still carrying his exceptional training and expertise as a military working dog, resurfaced from retirement to confront a formidable terrorist organization that had taken hostages within a megachurch.

5. Why did you give it the star rating you did?

I enthusiastically award Deadly Holiday Hijack a perfect 5-star rating because it captivated me from start to finish, keeping me engaged for hours on end.

6. Is the title memorable and/or emotion-grabbing?

Certainly! The title evoked contemplation about the fear that awaits those in such a harrowing situation.

Silent Night Siege (Kelly Underwood)

1. How did you feel about the setting?

Laila and Preston embarked on an exciting journey to the majestic landscapes of Colorado. However, fate took an unexpected turn when their path was abruptly disrupted by a devastating plane crash.

2. What do potential readers need to know most about the main character?

Laila Rabbinowitz, the fearless Elite Guardian bodyguard, had successfully evaded the clutches of Solomon Mizrahi.

3. Which supporting character caught your interest the most?

Preston Whittaker, the billionaire extraordinaire, vowed to spare no expense in safeguarding the one and only Laila.

4. What journey do(es) the main character(s) take?

Preston was determined to make this Christmas an unforgettable one for Laila. Being of a Jewish background, she had always celebrated Hanukkah and not Christmas. To add a special touch, Preston planned a much-needed getaway to the beautiful mountains of Colorado. However, their peaceful vacation took an unexpected turn when Solomon Mizrahi, Laila’s former fiance who had been imprisoned for stealing classified information and sabotaging a mission, managed to escape. Now, Preston and Laila find themselves caught in a whirlwind of danger and uncertainty.

5. (for Christian fiction) Are there spiritual truths to be gleaned from the story?

Just as Christ laid down His life for us we should be willing to lay down our lives for another.

6. Why did you give it the star rating you did?

I wholeheartedly give Silent Night Siege a perfect 5-star rating. The reason behind this glowing endorsement is the unwavering commitment displayed by Preston and Laila towards each other, proving they are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice.

Christmas Snowstorm Standoff (Sami A. Abrams)

1. How did you feel about the setting?

Wild Sapphire Ranch in Montana is the epitome of everything I adore about ranches.

2. What do potential readers need to know most about the main character?

Lizzie Tremaine had always dreamed of a winter wonderland wedding surrounded by friends and family at Wild Sapphire Ranch in Montana. But the unexpected snowstorm had Lizzie questioning God’s plans for her life.

3. Which supporting character caught your interest the most?

The supporting character who truly captured my attention was none other than Charlie.

4. What journey do(es) the main character(s) take?

Lizzie’s wedding was only 2 days away however, the weather wasn’t cooperating with the threat of a snowstorm. Could she have the faith to believe she would still have her wedding? She didn’t want to trust and then be disappointed.

5. (for Christian fiction) Are there spiritual truths to be gleaned from the story?

God desires nothing but the absolute best for His beloved children.

6. Why did you give it the star rating you did?

The choice of giving “Christmas Snowstorm Standoff” a 5*/5* review was made due to the author’s skillful handling of delicate subjects, ensuring a compelling and engaging narrative.
