so i geuss i’m the only one who has a problem with the fact that she spread child porn of an innocent girl in another book just cause she was in a bad mood? and then it was like never even addressed just kept saying “what a did last was bad so now i force myslef to volunteer so the world won’t hate me” vanessa is a spoiled little brat and if she went to my highschool i would have beat the rich bitch out of her. daily. don’t plan on finishing this book because all i can picture is this dumb spoiled bitch harassing people and doing all that disgusting thing blaming it on her family then using her family as a threat to never get punished for anything. she is out of tre 300+ books i’ve read. the worst fmc i’ve ever met genuinely
This book was odd. I didn’t like the characters or the writing, but it gave me so much joy! All from the laughter of the things going on that didn’t make sense, but still… I was torn between laughter and “Ew” this whole book, and here’s some of those quotes that made me do those things:
“Contrary to public opinion, I’m not perfect.” Who’s saying that??? Humble much?
“The shirtless hunk in the other bed clears his throat, and I turn his way as if he called my name.” Ok…
“I open the book and wonder if I’ll be able to concentrate on the words when there’s a gorgeously brooding guy in the next bed.” Word. For. Word.
“‘Sweetheart, I got bigger problems than cigarettes.’ My jaw clenches and I fold my arms across my chest. ‘My name’s not Sweetheart.’” No one is suggesting that it is, hon.🤦♀️
“I don’t understand what is drawing me in, but the need is hefty.” Not the adjective I’d use there.
“He releases me immediately, and I give him an agreeable nod.” Cause, ya know, nods aren’t usually agreeable things.😂
“Pacing, we make it back to the car.” You don’t MOVE FORWARD if you’re pacing😭😂😭
“‘Why are you being such a cow?’” Her brother says to her to call her stupid basically. Umm…🤷♀️
“My head rests on the ergonomic pillow…” Just the word choice threw me a little.
“My eyes go up and to the right, but I’m careful to not let them roll.” Pretty sure you just did though…🙄
“Instinctively, my hand presses on my chest, and my palm massages a burrowing ache.” 😭In public, in front of the guy who likes her, WHY?!? That’s just strange😭
“‘Color me intrigued.’” A modern teenage boy said.
“A soft retch hitches in my throat.”
“That’s it. He has to go.” Girl power! Then down three lines: “‘Umm. What are you doing here?’ I ask, feeling shaky on my approach.” Annnnnnd she lost it.
“‘This is my favorite place in all of the mountains.’” Not only is this worded weird, but the “bad boy” said this within the first 60 pages.❓
“Dax moves back to the clump of rocks, plonks down, an pulls out a cigarette.” He PLONKS??
“I’m usually twelve steps ahead of everyone I meet.” Did I mention she’s humble??😭🙄
“‘I’m the first born, but I was born the wrong gender.’ Dax rears back. ‘What does that mean?’” I’m also mad about that statement, but that was really out of character for him. Random.
“‘I did it just to shut you up.’” He says after kissing her and “stealing her first kiss” as she says. No 🚩s there. (That was sarcastic by the way😊.)
“I press my lips onto his and pour myself into the kiss. I devour the fullness of his bottom lip, and press my hand against the side of his face.” Umm…ew. Devour?? I’m sorry, but this author has written kissing scenes before I’m SURE.
“‘Look, you’re gorgeous, but that’s not enough to risk you getting hurt.’” Are we objectifying her right now? Dax…🙄😡
“‘It won’t be better with me.’ I grasp the collar of his leather jacket. ‘Tell that to the flutters of my heart.’”😂
“The air is whacked out of my lungs. I tap my chest and cough hard.” This was because he told her something hard, not that she fell or anything.
“‘I know I kissed you without warning, but I don’t like the touch of any guy touching you whenever he wants.’” At least he acknowledged that he did the exact same thing that he is hating here.
“When we come to a stop, I reef off the helmet and slide off the motorcycle.” That’s literally not a thing. Reefing that is.🪸
“‘All I’ve had is the right guys in my life, and they’ve always felt wrong.’”😂I wish there was also a cringing emoji.
“‘Are you serious? Look at you. How could anyone not notice you were missing?’” Again with the looks, and also he’s talking about her DAD. As in, you’re gorgeous so your Dad should always look at you🤢Nooooo…
“‘Yay!’ I squeal, clapping my hands.” I have literally no idea how many times she squeals in this book🤦♀️
“I giggle, leading this gorgeous hunk inside the building.” What is with not looking past the looks in this book??
“I also hope he notices the veins on the back of Dax’s hand, which show how powerful it becomes as a fist.” 😶I don’t even know. Just say he’s strong, I’m begging you please.
“‘You almost blew my socks off with that kiss.’” Said the “bad boy.”
“Dax slides on a pair of gold star-shaped glasses and the wind is knocked out of me. I collapse forward, struggling for breath as I spurt out laughter.” Again with this phrase. Wind is knocked out when you fall.
“‘How’s your head?’” … “‘It’s thumping, but I’ll live.’” I’m gonna start saying that😂 It’s thumping.
“‘Hey,’ he coos.” Said the “bad boy.”
“‘…you’ll fit in on the dancefloor.’” That’s TWO WORDS. She spelled it as one word twice in 2 pages.
“My stomach churns and my headache compounds.” Again, interesting choice of adjective.
“‘Eep. Thank you.’” Not Vanessa this time, but still a 17-18 year old girl saying this.
“‘Erhm. By any chance, umm, did Dax Malone come in today?’” Now this WAS Vanessa saying this.
“Her internal rants had me contorting in the sheets.” This author’s way of saying, she can’t sleep.😬
“From across the table, Ash watches the two and a vein pops in his neck.” Younger brother who is about 16-17.
“‘Have you drunk any water lately?’” Drank. Drank is what’s needed there.
“‘Shoosh,’ he hushes, panning around the room.” Said the “bad boy.” Was shush meant to be here?🤫
“I retch loudly, puking the contents onto the floor. It splashes on my shoes while the last of it strings out of my mouth.” Not only is that gross, but she pukes because she is nervous about telling her parents about her mother’s secret or not.
“‘Shoosh, Ash.’” Is that the new thing?🤫
“‘I’m prepared to put down the gossip-fueled, social-damaging weapons if you are.’” Said a 17-18 girl.
“‘There’s something deliciously bad in you, Vanessa Ashworth.’” Mmmk. 🤔
That’s it! You made it to the end of my review! I’m proud of you and I hope that you go enjoy another book with this time tho at you now have! Happy Reading📚

Vanessa Ashworth is the rich girl who could never want for anything. She has all of the material desires of a teenage girl’s heart. But what about other desires? What about love, family, true friendship, a connection with another human being. These are all things Vanessa seeks. She spends her time volunteering at a local hospital, & the rest of her time is spent being her mother’s societal pawn. School doesn’t seem to matter so much as controlling the rest of the elite female population.
Dax Malone has a troubled existence. He’s grown up very differently than Vanessa and currently is a pawn in his own right when it comes to his brother & The Scorpions Motorcycle Club.
With a chance encounter at the hospital between Vanessa & Dax, his health becomes a major concern for her. As she continues to show her heart of gold for a troubled teen, he begins to see her in a light that no one else takes the time to notice. As they find solace in each other’s friendship, their love begins to grow.
But coming from two completely different sides of the tracks, are these two willing to fight for what they have? Are they strong enough to overcome the many obstacles in their way? Will they be able to lean on each other when their circumstances dictate behaviors that could be dangerous & detrimental?
This book had a bit of a different vibe with the MC addition. But the old adage of “opposites attract” was too strong for anyone else’s reservations or demands.
This story was intense in a good way. I was very engaged in the story and enjoyed it. Vanessa is the quintessential rich, socialite-in-training, good girl, but is struggling with the demands and restrictions of her life and family. Especially with her controlling mother. Dax comes from a family immersed in a biker gang and criminal activity. When their paths cross, neither can deny their attraction and they begin a relationship that, while not secret, is also not out in the open. Their different worlds collide in good and bad ways. “‘Being with me will be the biggest mistake you ever made.’” They face many obstacles and pressures. I found so many aspects of this story interesting. There was a lot of drama, some medical issues, and even some action. I really liked the characters. The romance and relationship between Vanessa and Dax was really sweet and lovely. I loved their care for each other. It was a fun book to read, although the story is fairly serious. I think my only quibble with the story was that it felt like some characters flipped a switch kind of quickly at the end in suddenly accepting the situation. But hey, there was a lot of drama beforehand so a good clean wrap-up was satisfying. This book is part of a YA series and one of the previous books is Ash, Vanessa’s brother’s story, but this book reads very well as a standalone. This is closed door romance with some moderate innuendo, and a little violence. There are a couple of instances of very mild harsh language.

I’m so excited to bring you this review because I couldn’t believe that we finally got Vanessa’s love story after SO MANY DELAYS! Even more so that I was given this Advanced Copy in exchange for an honest review, so here we go.
Before going into this, I should advise that when I received this copy, there was a trigger warning attached to it. So if those who aren’t comfortable with the topic of DA/DV (domestic abuse/violence), then maybe this isn’t for you. Anyway, onto the review!
Wow, this was intense. I feel like every single one of Milly Rose’s books gets more intense as you progress but this one just takes the cake. Imagine this: Romeo and Juliet vibes, motorcycle gang, forbidden love, and an HEA. You get some action packed here with sweet moments between Vanessa and Dax.
Again, it’s a little intense. But it’s still so worth it. I didn’t know what to expect when I first started reading but I am basically in love with it. This book solidifies the reason I love romance books with HEAs. I enjoyed the journey and this was definitely a thrilling ride. I even read it in one sitting!
This book comes out on October 23rd, so go pre-order it while you can! I’m trying to give as much as I can without spoiling the book for you, but if you want to know my thought process as I was reading the book then please message me separately, and I will give you everything!
My Review I received an ARC of this book from BookFunnel. This book is out today. Now I have been waiting for this book since I finished reading Shy Girls Can't Date Billionaires. I wanted to know what happened to Vanessa. So I waited and waited while reading and enjoying the rest of the series. Today is finally the day. I'm happy to say Vanessa and Dax didn't disappoint! Vanessa has been volunteering at the local hospital. One day she saves a boy who others in the hospital don't seem to want to save. Later, she finds out his name is Dax, and he intrigues her and can't stop herself from thinking about or seeing him. Two people who meet at a hospital develop an unexpected friendship that blossoms into something more. With Dax, Vanessa can drop the act of being perfect and be a free teenager for a few hours and Dax can also lay down his burdens. I liked the fact that try as they might, they couldn't and really didn't want to stay away from each other. This book was sweet with a hint of adventure, and I can't wait for the next book. Until next time peace and happy reading!
i gave it a try after a friend begged me to read it. it wasnt the most terrible thing ai have read but i only got to 31% before i remember i dont have to finish books that just arnt my jam. it was a good attempt at a Ya rom but i felt it was lacking in the characters body. meaning thwy really had no substance to make me feel atttqched to tjem enough to keep reading. it felt very juvenile (yes i know its a ya book ) and to be clear i ment thw writing not the story. their connection felt rushed and with so little build up it didnt really make sense for them to be so connected already there was no tension or forgeounding to back it up past the first meet which honestly had given me a lot of hope for their next enciunter until I read it and it felt short of that spark you need in a book to make your reader love the characters. I can see this book being good for a different kind of reader. Definitely for a newer and younger reader. and hey for what its worth my friend loved it. it just honestly was not for me.
This book for me was incredibly hard to read. I hated the FMC with a passion because she was just a spoiled and rotten. I finished just because I do not like to fit not finish books. Vanessa seemed incredibly spoiled and out of her mind there is no way in anyone’s perception that you would forgive someone that basically sold you out and harass your entire family. I am writing this review via talk to text so I apologize if it seems a little rushed, I really wanted to like this because I really enjoy young adult but most of the time they are incredibly thawed out and they’re just cutie little Reads. This one was hard to get through hard to believeand just Vanessa was obnoxious and her friends were obnoxious. Her family was obnoxious. Hopefully, I can get through another one, but it’s not likely. I’m sorry, Millie Rose, but I will not be reading your books anymore.

I’ve been looking forward to Vanessa’s story in this series, and I honestly loved it just as much as the previous books. Rich girl with the biker boy from the wrong side of the tracks - how could you not love it? Despite her wealth, somewhat austere parents and her past catty behaviour, Vanessa has a caring heart. Trying to balance her karma she now volunteers at a hospital, and her desire to help Dax is lovely. Dax has plenty of his own issues, and number on his list is his family. An opposites attract, forbidden relationship story with plenty of school drama, family dysfunction, suspense, drama, sweetness, romance and emotion and don’t forget that all important HEA. A beautiful YA series that is very enjoyable and entertaining.
This book is more on the lighter end than my norm. Good girl accidentally meets supposed bad boy when opposites attract. Dax helps Vanessa “Sassy” break out of her socialite world. I enjoyed the way she experienced new things with him (first kiss, motorcycle ride, night under the stars). Vanessa showing him a fierce loyalty, sense of family, and that he had the ability to get out of a bad situation. Finding out he was head over heels and prepared to be a better guy for her warmed my heart. He was extremely protective of her safety throughout the book. This shows the ups and downs they experienced with a cute HEA at the end.
2.5 really liked the ending! Dislikes: I knew I shouldn’t read a book with Vanessa she acts like a wannabe 30 yr old. She has no depth yet. Kept reading to see the resolution. Kissing a smoker is gross.
(P. 216) Vanessa’s mom seems to bring out some depth to Vanessa. Or at least emotion. Vanessa eventually develops more and is less of a fancy pants. I guess she’s written really well if I found Vanessa super dull in the beginning. She made a lot of mistakes in the past and during this book, but she owns up to them mostly
This one was really good! Although this book works as a standalone, for those that have been reading the series, we finally get to know Vanessa more. This book has suspense, drama, love, family turmoil and of course an HEA.I love that Milly's books are long enough to fully develop characters and the world they live in. It makes for a great, very YA, read. It's well written and a has a good flow. I read it all in one go...I couldn't put it down!
I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this adventure between Vanessa and Dax. She's the daughter of an affluent family and he's the son of the head of the MC. They meet when he ends up in the hospital and she is drawn to him. She shouldn't want to get to know him better but can't deny the pull.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
3 stars because it didn’t catch my interest like the other books in the series did. Like we get it, Vanessa is the spoiled MC who says she’s not heard by her father or mother so she obviously rebels in a way even when she says she doesn’t. I can’t believe the epilogue when she gets a tattoo, it couldn’t have been done within the storyline? I’m sure her hiding Dax, he could have given her some time to get a tattoo to rebel AT LEAST. this is my least favorite out of the series tbh
Want more billionaire romance where she's the one with the family money and he's the bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks she should NOT get involved with.
"Being with me will be the biggest mistake you ever make."
Oof this was hard to finish. There were little parts that were well written and nothing wrong with the storyline in general… I just didn’t feel as though it was very well written and it lacked substance. Rushed into the romance stage then a lot of lead up to nothing much happening.
Such a cute book. From the first interaction to the ending of the book I had to keep reading. I even read the bonus chapter from Dax's POV. The book even had a happy ending, which I loved.

Oh my gosh!!!! Milly!!!! I LOVED this book!! 10/10!!
***Make sure you check the warnings at the beginning of the book! This one (and most of Milly's) takes on some tougher topics, so be sure you're aware of that!***
Dax and Vanessa had so many ups and downs, but I loved how they never stopped fighting! There were so many parts where they could've just given up or decided that they didn't want to fight for their relationship, but they never did. I loved that so much!
At first, I liked it. The book seemed promising, and I actually liked the heroine — though “shy” isn’t exactly the word I’d use for her.
I have no idea why I finished this. It just got duller as it went on. I kept putting it aside to read other books, and by the end, I was basically skimming paragraphs. The chemistry between the leads never clicked for me — the scenes felt like filler. It read more like a story about rescuing your beloved brother than an actual romance.
The “bad boy” wasn’t bad, or intense, or interesting — just bland. The whole thing fell flat. I gave it one star only because the beginning had potential… and because something kept me curious enough to reach the end, even if I skipped half of it.
