This is going to be a really hard review to write. The writing was beautiful, characters were top notch and the research completely sound. Yet halfway through the book I found myself having problems finishing it. Lilit/Sarah is a grade A character but I couldn't relate to her at all, she was just too perfect for me. The possessiveness that Erra had for her in the first book was gone from this one as well. I just couldn't get excited about the ending to the book, there was a HEA of sorts but there was no romantic HEA. I don't even want to discuss Dustin or the hippie squad. This guys were just too effin peace, love and walk into the light for me. *Sigh* The book deserves a five star review from me...really it does. Everything was at it should be. Poppet if you read these reviews please don't think your work is anything other than gold star. I'm just a person who likes flawed characters.
See I told you this was a hard review for me. Under normal circumstances I either love a book, hate a book or I find it mediocre. I can't put this book in any of those categories. My reasoning for giving it a four star review is this: the writing deserves a five but the story left a strange taste in my mouth. I probably should have given the book three stars yet that didn't seem justified to me. Despite my review I would still recommend this book for anyone to read.
Sarah/Lilit is such a beautiful character to ride this ride with! Erra has taken so much from her and is trying very hard to set things right. During this journey, Sarah goes through her re-introduction into this close family. Learning that she must collect a key from each of the Sebitti, she gets to know each of them VERY well. This book goes into serious parties with the hottest of guys! During the collection of the keys, she finds out that she has the ability to love completely, and show others what love is truly about. My heart beats faster and sometimes even lighter when reading the books in this series. It takes such amazing skill to write with great passion. Poppet not only produces passionate stories, but gives great details along with it. I feel like I have been to Hel with Sarah and the Sebitti. And boy, oh boy, did I have a glorious time with motorcycles, fast cars and the guys!! And you get to know her connection to one special Sebitti!!!! Enjoy the ride! I certainly did!!
After reading Erra, I downloaded Erra More immediately needing to see where the story of Sarah led. Sarah/Lilith has a lot to learn in her new world. And when she finds out her lover Dustin is cheating on her she’s whisked away by Sven her learning begins. What will be the ‘key’ to her success? A wonderful story, it’s difficult not to say too much without giving the plot away. Sarah meets a stunning array of beautifully drawn characters who are relevant to her past with a ‘satisfying’ outcome.
The incredible journey continues in book two, the continuation of Erra! I was thrilled when I knew this was being written, and I couldn't wait for its release. This story grabbed a hold of me and wouldn't let go. The characters are unbelievably real, and though they are not human, they embody everything it is to be human. It is the story of a woman, Sarah, whom I adore, that has been molded to believe certain things, to live a certain way, but struggles with the urge to become free. Not only worrying about the stigma that others would place on her, but battling her own mind, her own beliefs of what's right and wrong. It's something we ALL can associate with. This book took me through the emotions of love, lust, anger, sadness, and at the end, I felt a peacefulness. I could not still the tears that fell from my eyes at the beauty of this book. It was a ride I will never forget, and I will always hold the world of Erra close to my heart. This book has it all, action, fun, and men who are dripping with pure sex appeal. This book is HOT! I will never look at apples the same again...trust me, you have to enjoy this morsel for yourself! YUM!
I really did not know what to expect from this book and what I got was a brilliant read. I did not expect the story line at all (which i will not spoil) and I did not know which man I was routing for Sarah to end up with Erik (Erra) or Dustin. I got to about 40% and a lightbulb moment and I was like 'NO she's going there, is she?' but Poppet did and I loved it. It was sexy and interseting and Poppet does have a way with words that makes you want to keep reading spilling drama page after page. It was not just another love story it had substance to it and you could tell a lot of research had gone into the book. I will definately read another of Poppets, I think you have got another fan!
I really wasn't expecting much from this cheap sequel to the free smutty kindle book I read. It, however, really let me down. I am not really sure what it was going for, but the book came across as very little smut, with about twice as much explanation as I would have liked, with a lot of preachy bible thumping thrown in, just to make sure it wasn't thoroughly enjoyable. Even with way too much explanation and overdone story, I found myself confused and bored most of the time.
A fascinating mix of erotica, history and legend! Poppet's novels are unusual, original and very hard to put down. She has the fantastic ability to skillfully weave together fact and fiction, so much so that it got me thinking about life, death and everything in between. I love it when a book does that!
This book was the perfect follow up to Erra Gods and Thurs! Once I started reading this book I could'nt put it down!! It's obvious that Poppet did tons of research for this book witch makes the story so believable.I wish there were more writers of Poppets quality.Poppet is definitely a writing force to be reckoned with!!
