El Verdugo The battle between the Soul Reapers and Aizen over the fate of Karakura Town continues with more warriors joining the fight. But when Captain General Yamamoto enters the battlefield, can he put a quick end to Aizen's minions?
Noriaki Kubo, known professionally as Tite Kubo ( 久保帯人), is a Japanese manga artist and character designer. His manga series Bleach (2001–2016) had over 130 million copies in circulation as of 2022.
"A creature whose only thought is to kill... How sad." [Genryuusai]
The big three of the Espada are basically chilling out there while their minions are giving their all in the battle. Soi Fon and Omaeda are up against Ggio and Mammoth (Barragan's Fracciones), while Matsumoto is up against Sun-Sun, Apache and Mila Rose (Hallibel's Fracciones). But the real focus is put on all the lieutenants when Hallibel's minions sacrifice their body parts to create a terrifyingly strong creature known as Ayon.
"I always taught you to see the loss of a comrade as an opportunity. Don't get in the middle. Just stab the enemy in the back. If you're too incompetent to do even that... then let your comrade die right then and there. That's the way of the Secret Remote Squad." [Soi Fon]
Omaeda saving Soi Fon 🤝 Soi Fon saving Omaeda
Soi Fon's and Omaeda's relationship is different than the other relationships between captains and lieutenants of Gotei 13. Omaeda is a comedic character. He's rich and dumb and he shows this side of his to everyone he meets, but he has some positive moments. Soi Fon seem to bully him every chance she gets, mostly because of, well, his incompetence and his very narcissistic nature. They seem like they don't like each other much, but they are ready to protect each other when it's needed. Their opponents were strong already, but the biggest boss is still out there. Waiting. Are they a match for him or will they lose?
"I may be the Fifth Company's Assistant Captain and I may be wearing the Adjutant Badge... But I'm here as a Soul Reaper. Not as Captain Aizen's subordinate. He's... the enemy of the Soul Society now." [Hinamori]
Matsumoto took a hell of a burden on her shoulders when she decided to fight all three of Hallibel's Fracciones. Everything seemed to go the wrong way for her. It seemed like she will be finished quickly, but then a rescue came from a very unexpected person. No one thought that Hinamori will show herself in the battle, not after the trauma she went through because of Aizen's actions. The last time we saw Hinamori, she was talking with Hitsugaya and showing a very bad mental shape she was in back then. I never liked her character much, not because she let herself be fooled by Aizen (who would have thought that he's a traitor?), but because she let herself believe that Hitsugaya - her childhood friend and best friend overall - could be a murderer. But she impressed me with her Kido skills and cleverness in this chapter (and in the anime too). A little bit of more training and a little bit of more experience and she could be a very dangerous opponent.
"Quimera Parca. This is the creation of our three freed left arms. Its name is Ayon." [Apache]
This is the moment when all hell went loose - a hell for all the present lieutenants. When a monster was created by three of Hallibel's minions, no one knew how to react - and no one knew how to fight him. But everyone realized pretty quickly how terrifying Ayon is. This terrifying monster was unstoppable for a very big part of the story and, honestly, I did not expect it to be so bloody. I should know better at this point... (the anime isn't as bloody, not the original one at least - TYBW is totally different) The situation looked very, very horrible for every lieutenant who stepped in to fight Ayon, until the rescue came.
Apache: "Ayon! Don't give them time to do anything! Get rid of them!" *the monster doesn't react* Apache *visibly annoyed*: "Ayon! Ignoring me, eh?" Mila Rose: "Stop it, you fool. Ayon can't her us. Apache: "He's gotta have eardrums somewhere! Right?! Sun-Sun: "I wouldn't know. I've never known him to respond to anything we said."
EXCUSE ME?! To be clear: I'm not surprised that they summoned (more like, created than summoned, but okay) Ayon - it happened in the anime too. I'm reacting with the caps lock because of the ridiculousness of the situation. I will never ever understand what the characters are thinking when they summon a creature that THEY CANNOT CONTROL! There is always a big chance that a thing like this will go against its master! I would somehow understand if the girls were in a total disadvantage and didn't know what else to do - like Megumi in season two of JJK, for example - but they totally weren't! I feel like they did that just to show off and, honestly, if I didn't know better I would wait for Ayon to go against them just to teach them a lesson (but it didn't happen).
On the last chapter of this volume we also got a glimpse of the events happening in Hueco Mundo. Renji and Chad are preoccupied with the Hollows on the desert, Rukia is having a hard time fighting Rudobôn and Ichigo is up against Ulquiorra, so everyone seem to be very busy. Fights are happening everywhere, but which side will win the war and at what cost?
Some of my thoughts while reading (beware of the spoilers!)
~what's up with the characters (anime characters in general) delivering a blow and then immediately assuming that the fight is over? It's annoying 😑 ~ I truly admire Gin for not breaking his character in the moment of Matsumoto's fall! I bet he was screaming inside! 😔 ~ Kyoraku's double personality is truly something. Most of the time he's just a kindhearted goofball who's just chilling and who hates fighting, but when things get serious, his demeanour totally changes. ~ THERE WAS SO MUCH BLOOD IN THIS CHAPTER! SO MUCH VIOLENCE! I wanted to cry my eyes out! ~ I really liked Kira's and Hisagi's entrance in the fight against Ayon (it went how it went, though). ~ "Forcing the captain general out onto the battlefield... You men should be ashamed." - these Genryuusai's words enraged me while watching the anime and they enrage me now as well. A war is happening and he just wanted to, what, stand there and watch, not to do anything?! He saw the monster, he clearly had to know (or suspect, at least) how strong it is, but didn't involved himself in the fight until later on. He just stood there and allowed all to happen, just to play the hero when every lieutenant was down. And the fact that Kira had to bow before him and beg for forgiveness?! Are you kidding me? 😠 ~ I truly hate how Ayon looks like. Yuck. ~ Why the did the three of Hallibel's dumbasses attack Genryuusai? They had to know that they don't stand a chance against him! It was basically suicide!
That creature that was created from those arrancar’s arms was terrifying and strong. I honestly didn’t know how they were gonna beat it, but Captain Yamamoto stop it without breaking a sweat. He even beat those three Arrancars that thought they had a chance. Also we know who the number 1 Espada is so I’m interested to see him in battle. I’m also ready for Ulquiorra and Ichigo’s battle because I know it’s gonna be good. I’m ready for the next volume.
A strange Hollow makes an appearance in this volume but the meddling of various heroes in other's fights make this too simple to be exciting. It's as if these heroes have lost their sense of honour that seemed important to many in the beginning... I guess teamwork is used as a narrative tool for excitement during these fights.
There's an unexpected gory scene though but the decision to overrule the potential death makes things a bit dull in the end too.
At least these dialogue-light fighting arcs develop pretty quickly. Don't get me wrong, the artwork is still formidable. Making it all worthwhile.
È ritornato il problema legato agli scontri: troppi tutti in una volta e anche un po' dispersivi. Lascio comunque cinque stelle perché alcune scene sono state a dir poco ✨ EPICHE ✨
Bleach, Vol. 39 continues where the previous tankōbon left off and contains the next nine chapters (332–340) of the on-going manga series.
After receiving some unneeded help from Marechiyo Ōmaeda, Soi-Fong defeats Baraggan Louisenbairn's last Fracción with Baraggan now joining the fray while revealing himself as Espada Two. Rangiku Matsumoto is initially overwhelmed by Tier Harribel's three dysfunctional Fracciónes Emilou Apacci, Franceska Mila Rose, and Cyan Sung-Sun. Momo Hinamori arrives to aid Rangiku, determine to fight her former captain Sōsuke Aizen.
However, Halibel's Fracciónes retaliate by sacrificing their left arms to conjure their "pet" Ayon to overwhelm the Soul Reapers before it was incinerated by Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto. Witnessing Yamamoto knock out her subordinates, Harribel takes her frustrations for her comrades' defeat on Tōshirō Hitsugaya, while revealing herself to be Espada Three. Elsewhere, leaving Jūshirō Ukitake to reluctantly deal with the Espada's child-like Fracción Lilinette Gingerback, Shunsui Kyōraku play battles Coyote Starrk as he reveals himself to Espada One.
Back in Hueco Mundo, Ichigo Kurosaki's battle with Ulquiorra Cifer properly gets underway with the two of them being more or less evenly matched.
This tankōbon is written and illustrated by Tite Kubo. It continues with Sōsuke Aizen's incursion of Karakura Town with his Arrancars army. With most of the minor Arrancars defeated, the Shinigami of Soul Society are currently fighting the Espada – the top Arrancars of Hueco Mundo.
All in all, Bleach, Vol. 39 is a wonderful continuation to a series that seems intriguing and I cannot wait to read more.
To be honest, I thought Bleach, Volume 39: El Verdugo was going to be a disappointment. The battles in the beginning of the book, which focused on the female Shinigami, lacked the excitement expected from a fight involving the Soul Reaper captains and their adjutants. I found the sketches in between the chapters more entertaining than the actual fights.
The ending is the best part where it will have your heart racing. The Primera Espada is revealed while fighting one of my favorite characters. I'm super excited to read the next volume for that fight. Another fight we've all been eagerly anticipating looks like it will be happening in the next volume too! I predict Volume 40 will be amazing!
Omaeda thinks he’s rather handily won his battle against the fraccione but suddenly he’s in over his head. Yet when he sees Sai Fon in trouble, it’s Omaeda to the rescue! How can that guy she’s fighting be her equal? But in reality Sai Fon has everything well in hand.
Matsumoto is facing three opponents. They start to argue amongst themselves as to who should sit out the battle, in order to even the odds, but Matsumoto shows them she is more than up to the challenge they present! However, she is surprised by the arrival of Hinamori. And even from his own battle, Hitsugaya is perturbed by her presence as well, momentarily distracted by his concern for her.
Shunsui decides it’s time to get serious with his Espada opponent, who wants to know why Shunsui has not even drawn his second sword. Naturally he explains why that isn’t necessary. Looks like he’ll have to use both, though, after all. Meanwhile, Ukitake refuses to fight a child, to the child’s dismay.
Matsumoto and Hinamori’s three opponents have combined in a horrible manner to become one horrible opponent, taking out both Matsumoto and Hinamori. Luckily, Hisagi is there to continue the fight and keep them safe. While he does that, Kira sees to his companions’ wounds. Iba enters the fray as well, but the beast is strong, so Captain General Yamamoto himself takes to the field! And back in Hueco Mundo, the fight continues…
If you don’t like battles, then this part of the Bleach arc is sure to disappoint, but in all honesty, each battle is well done and interesting, as well as necessary. Personally, I could never find them boring. I think they bring out aspects of each combatant’s personality, and we get to see more of them than we generally do. I mean, they’re Soul Reapers, surely you want to understand what makes them so special to Soul Society.
Yes, I admit there isn’t a lot of Ichigo lately, but hey, he’s not the only Soul Reaper out there, just because he’s the main character. Don’t worry, he’ll be back. In the meantime, enjoy watching the others in action. And seeing the old man do battle is priceless. I’ve always enjoyed the relationship between him and Shunsui and Ukitake, the light banter and the give-and-take. Did you know they were the first graduates of the Soul Academy and the first captains?
Very interesting volume of Bleach, but there’s more to come. And at some point, you know Aizen et al will come out of their fiery time-out and get back into the game. Can’t wait!
A pretty middle-of-the-road volume of Bleach, with some seriously good spots - like the arrival of back-up from Soul Society and the actions of a certain elder shinigami. And it looks like Kubo has finally remembered Ichigo exists and is in the middle of a major duel. If volume 40 is dominated by the Ichigo/Ulquiorra fight, that would be all right with me.
Given that Manga, and especially Shonen is split up into bigger arcs as composed to volumes I will be analyzing and reviewing this by Arc. I also reread this manga over the span of 2 months, some days reading as much as 100 chapters a day. It would be quite tedious for me to review each 7-8 chapter volume. So this will be copy and pasted throughout all of the 72 manga volumes. That being said, if you're looking at this without having viewed the series...spoiler warning. I don't recap anything, but I also mention things that happen. If you want me to answer the question "Should I pick this up?" Yes. Even if you stop at the end of the Soul Society Arc. It's worth it.
Karakura Town Arc - Chapters 1-56- Rating: 7/10 (The official page lumps this in with the Soul Society Arc however I feel as if they are two very separate arcs with two very separate themes) - A fun introduction. -An interesting premise on the idea of ghosts and demons (Hollows) -Does a good job of introducing the characters and I especially enjoyed the love for characters like Chad, Orihime and Uryu as these characters would later lose more and more spotlight as the series went on. -It is a bit of a monster of the week. When it works, like with Chad's introduction story. It works. But Characters like Don Kanonji felt superficial and very gimmicky. Which, fair. I didn't enjoy them as much.
Soul Society Arc - Chapters 57-182 - Rating: 10/10 -The height of Bleach -Establishes an afterlife seemingly perfectly. Later on revealed to be full of plot holes and never fleshed out but hey! That's not an issue in THIS arc. The fights are top tier, the themes of Ichigo owing a life debt to Rukia and his passion and determination to rise above literally God's army is inspiring and to this day is why I love Ichigo so much. He doesn't have some grandiose plan. He doesn't have a major goal to accomplish. He is a protector by heart, losing his mother has made him sour to failing to protect those he cares about and he'll do anything in his power never to feel that helpless again. Very powerful stuff. -The twist near the end of this arc is revolutionary and would make waves for the next 200 chapters onward. A perfect ending and set up for the forthcoming arc. -The only issues I have for this arc would be Ichigo's lightning speed progression. The guy goes from being able to barely defeat a third seat to besting multiple captains in roughly 100 or less chapters. I get that that is the point and him defeating captains was more of a struck of luck, but progression and pacing wise it feels very unearned and a factor of "for the plot he needed to be this strong" It only seems as fast as it is because Ichigo's progression slows drastically down for the rest of the story moving foreword so it's only now that I make that criticism. -Also, and this will be an issue in most Shonen. There are 13 Captains with 13 Vice Captains and seats that branch all the way to 10 I believe? Regardless, there's a fudge ton of characters that are introduced here and it can get a little jarring at times. Luckily, Kubo does a great job at making their designs and characters unique despite such a large cast.
Hueco Mundo Arc - Chapters 183-423 - Rating 7/10 -This is another arc where personally I would split it up into two separate arcs. But for the sake of this review I will simply refer to the first half of the arc and the later half of the arc. First Half 9/10. Second Half. 5/10. -The first half of this arc is a great continuation of the last. Ichigo now struggles with his inner demons and it affects his ability to protect the ones he loves. We are also introduced to a deadly unknown new villains. The Arrancars/Espada to this day remain one of my favorite villain factions in all of manga enemies. -Just so you're aware I would say the first half of this arc ends right around the point of Ichigo vs Grimmjow. Grimmjow is one of the first Arrancar that Ichigo faces. And he's also one of two Espada that he faces three times. The conclusion of that fight shows Ichigo conquering his inner demons. Where Grimmjow is very much fighting to establish himself. Grimmjow has to fight Ichigo to prove to his fallen comrades that he is as good as he says he is. He doesn't care about Aizen, he doesn't care about the rest of the Espada. It is very personal for him. For Ichigo, Orohime is within his grasp of saving and he views this as his "final" battle. It's my favorite fight in all of Bleach. -However, this is where things start to take a bit of dip in quality in my opinion. We had a goal and we were striving towards that goal. Each character of the original cast coming to repay the debt they made to their friend who had risked her life to save them in the Soul society arc. But somewhere along the way it seems we just had a fighter fest. Captains would face enemies with no themes or character revelations. The Espadas got a little light but nothing that made their fights compelling. You almost just feel bad for the Espada as they were monsters turned into a military force by an unstoppable tyrant. But even that wasn't enough to make half of the fights interesting. Now, that's with knowing the outcome. These fights played little importance in the larger scheme of things. Where at least in the Hueco Mundo fights each match up had the protagonists striving for a goal. Rukia to defeat Aaroneiro to free her former superiors soul. Byakuya to defend Rukia. Renji and Uryu teamwork. Nel to protect Ichigo and get revenge on Nnoitra. Whereas Stark fought Kyoraku.....cause.....and Hitsugaya fought Halibel because Water vs Ice would be cool. -This leaves me to the end. I won't say it wasn't satisfying that Ichigo was able to defeat Aizen. And yes, I do feel like his new power was earned. 3 months of training. But this was clearly a last minute decision to save Aizen for a later date and the show must go on. I do feel like it wasn't as satisfying as 200+ chapter buildup needed to be.
The Fullbring Arc - Chapters 424-479 - Rating: 8/10 -A very underrated arc. And yes, I acknowledge that rating wise I think the Fullbring arc is superior to the Hueco Mundo arc. That is mostly true. Though I like the first half of the Hueco Mundo Arc more than the Fullbring arc. The end of the HM arc really brought it down for me. The Fullbring Arc is much more concise and is actually the shortest arc in the series and works as a glorified Ichigo getting his powers back arc. But that doesn't mean its bad. -When I read it originally back when it was coming out in 2010. (Cause I'm Old) It wasn't phenomenal. In fact, I hated it. But wouldn't you? It took just short of a year to get to the point that we were at. But upon rereading it, it gave much deserved love to the characters who hadn't been shown love in quite some time. The original cast. It was a very character focused arc. Ichigo never seemed more human. And despite me hating it before for taking so long, reading weekly can sometimes hurt these mystery based arcs. The twist is heavily foreshadowed and I really appreciated it. -That being said, the end was super rushed. This was a big bummer for me. The villains this time around were humans. And the ones who had the most exposure and relations with these characters were the original cast who again....were humans. So to have the soul reapers, who have no connection to the fullbringers show up and basically no diff most of the fullbringers felt very forced and fanservicey to me. This very well could have not been Kubo's call. As the community was very vocal about their dislike for this arc as it was going on. But I appreciate it now much more as I appreciate character and story over big sword fights. Lol.
The Thousand Year Blood War Arc - Chapters 424-689 - Rating: 5/10 -And we're finally here. The final and largest arc within the Bleach story. And man...does it not stick the landing. -That being said, this arc has phenomenal moments. Kenpachi's Shikai and Bankai. Ichigo's double swords. Renji's true Bankai. Rukia's Bankai. And many more. However, they are put together against the most break neck speed arc that I have ever read. Kubo was very ambitious when he introduced 26 new villains. However, most of them got barely any screen time and a lot of them even got off screened by higher level captains. This was unlike the Espada who each got a full double page spread for their Resurrections. -Yhwach himself was a phenomenal villain but was dealt with swiftly and imo dirty. They did him dirty. -There was just something off. The mood changed and it was very apparent. The villains had random powers instead of the powers reflecting their personalities or needs. The finale felt so underwhelming. -Ichigo gets to be the strongest he's ever been....but he doesn't defeat a single person besides the main villain despite being in several fights. -It isn't a good arc. In fact, I would say it's the worst. Hopefully the anime does a better job with this already mammoth of a story. 260 chapters is no joke.
This gives the story of Bleach an Overall rating of 7.4/10. Which to me is above average. It has it's ups and downs. It's not perfect. But when it's high, it's peak shonen. But when it's low, it's very forgettable.
Suí-Féng and Omaeda managed to defeat both Vega and Parduoc. The battle shifted to Rangiku and the Tres Bestias. Rangiku was cornered by them and suddenly Hinamori appeared to help. Hinamori used Kidou to blow them up. Three of them released their Resurrecion; Apacci - Cierva, Mila Rose - Leona and Sung-Sun - Anaconda. Three of them cut their left arm and used a technique called Quimera Parca to summon a beast; Ayon.
Ayon gouged out left part of Rangiku's stomach and punch Hinamori very hard. Suddenly, Shūhei and Kira appear and help to fight Ayon. Kira is former member of 4th Division so he knows how to heal people. He heals Rangiku and Hinamori. Shūhei fights Ayon but he was overwhelmed by Ayon. Yamamoto stepped in and used Ryujin Jakka: Nadegiri to cut Ayon in a half and then he burned Ayon into ashes. The Tres Bestias come to fight Yamamoto but they instantly burned to ashes. Knowing Tres Bestias has fallen, Halibel released her Resurrecion: Tiburon. All the remaining Espada is getting serious.
Back to Hueco Mundo, Renji, Rukia and Chad are fighting the leader of Exequias, Rudbornn Chelute. Rudbornn released his Resurrecion: Arbol. At the Las Noches, Ichigo is fighting Ulquiorra.
This volume has some of my favourite moments from this arc. I loved seeing Soi Fon kill Ggio Vega. I loved how the most powerful Espadas begin to have their time to shine in the spotlight. Momo joining the fight was especially satisfying and drove home Aizen’s betrayal. I think Momo’s character arc easily enforces and deepens Aizen’s arc as we as the audience can empathize easily with Momo and root for her after she was betrayed and left for dead. I loved seeing Momo’s expertise at Kidō. I loved seeing the focus on the Tres Bestias (the third Espada’s Fracción) and how they’re able to cut off part of themselves to fuse and create Ayon, a deadly and powerful chimera creature. I loved how brutal and devastating Ayon was, and how Head Captain Yamamoto had to step in. I loved seeing Ulquiorra and Ichigo begin their fight and how everything is beginning to come to a dangerous head in the story overall.

This volume was good, we pick up with the different fights happening, this time with the captain levels fighting different Espadas, first is Soi Fon vs Ggiovega and when it seems like she will lose she was just assessing her enemy and when she defeats him, its a sight to behold. Her power and tricks are something else. Then we have a moment where Rangiku and Momo are fighting those 3 guys and she gonna lose, and then they merge into ALLON and the way it pierces her was sad. But it shows their power but then the greatest moments happen when Genryu-sama, the captain commander fights and is able to defeat that being. That moment was awesome and we just see his superior power and all! It was an epic volume filled with awesome battle scenes and action and so many jaw dropping moments and the art was immense and awesome!

The soul reapers continue their battles above the fake Karakura Town. It looks like we'll finally get some development for the female characters as they team up to take down some baddies!!! LOL J/K this is a shonen they are just there so the men can come in and be all heroic rescuing them. "Ayon" appears and has some genuinely creepy pages but really they're just a giant meat bag that doesn't have any significant character development. You could probably just read the first and final two chapters of this volume and you wouldn't miss anything significant, hell you could probably just read the final chapter and you're fine. There's nothing in here it's just a filler fight scene that no one cares about.
I mostly enjoyed this volume but I would have liked it more if Rangiku and the surprising person who came to help her had beet Hallibel's fraccions instead of someone else. I really wanted to see Rangiku in action and it was fine for a well but then it wasn't. So I'm a bit upset by that. Hopefully she does get her time to shine in one of the future volumes. I really like her and want to see her get more serious battles and win.
Another pretty great volume. Summary: The fights continue, captain Soifoi KO her arrancar. Hinamori joins the fights. Captain shunsui fights his espada.Rangiku and hinamori tem up to fight three arrancars. The arancars form a special beast that rips off part of Rangiku. Then it hits hinamori and shes down for the count. The captain general steps in and beats the monster, and then its creators. Ichego continues to battle for Orihime.
It's not awful but this is mid-shonen anime battles. All flash, no bite. Basically all the captains fighting baddies, get hurt really bad, but somehow always survive, leaving the bad guys feeling like big old boring filler instead of a actual threat. I know Bleach was around the time they just didn't kill big/main characters off but it's so hard to read when no stakes to make me worry about characters.
This is the volume in the manga series when the great sage with mad powers finally steps in to show his stuff! Soul Reapers from the Soul Society is battling Aizen's minions over Karakura Towns very fate. Captain General Yamamoto enters the battle...and he is showing why he is who he is! Will it be enough? Good action and story by Tite Kubo. The action makes the volume read quickly, but there are tons of nuggets to think about in this volume.
4.25 stars. Slow start again the fights are cool but the characters are mid. It seems like canon fodder and I understand the reason but I’m not a fan. But the ending half was fire. Seeing the general fight and a little bit of his power was sick. Also knowing we are about to see ichigo fight ulqiorra is lit. I do wish soul society members died not just keep getting healed at the brisk. It makes these fights less meaningful

Head Captain Yamamoto was badass the way he just defeated Ayon, Apache, Mila Rose, and Sun Sun. The fight between Shunsui/Stark and Ichigo/Ulquiorra is gonna be great. Hinamori is another character that I am not very fond of. Even after everything Size has done deep down she still thinks that he can be saved and I don't like that she is putting Captain Hitsugaya in a horrible position.
RANGIKU NOOOOO!! I think Halibel’s so pretty, but her outfit would’ve been so much cuter if it were a normal cropped jacket instead of her under-boobs just being exposed all the time. Her and Nel’s outfits are so unnecessarily sexualized. Anyways, this volume broke the streak of the dull volumes! I enjoyed Ayon’s fighting with everyone.
I love Halibe'ls Fracciones and Halibel herself is so freaking badass. She has one of my favorite designs. Really cool to see Himamori and Rangiku fighting, although I wish they hadn't needed to be saved by Hisagi and Kira. I love this arc because we get to see the Espada shine and theres tons of cool fights between them and the other Soul Reapers. Hyped for Ichigo vs Ulquiorra.
