On the shores of Lyme Regis, where G.K. Chesterton takes his holidays, a strange sound haunts the night.... The sleuthing mice of Saint Wulfhilda's Abbey School are back for a seaside adventure in this third installment of The Sister Seraphina Mysteries! Join Sister Seraphina, Sister Alberta, Dominic, and Marigold as they investigate some mysterious happenings on their summer holiday―and learn unexpected lessons about the corporal works of mercy and the gift of imagination along the way.
I admit I’m becoming attached to these adorable mice and their simple adventures. The Christmas story is still my favorite since it’s all sorts of cozy, but this trip to the seashore (as stowaways in G.K. Chesteron’s car) is fun as well. There’s a strange sound scaring the young mice at their seashore lodgings, and Dominic and Marigold must get to the bottom of it.
A fun read aloud or alone for children with adorable illustrations and a whimsical mouse-world.
Another delightful adventure for our favorite mice detectives! We enjoyed the new setting, the new characters, and, of course, the mystery! The illustrations give this book a wide age range - lovely as a read aloud.
