In his new home, a sleepy village on the outskirts of rural Oxford, Lucas is determined to uncover the truth about the elusive old man who never leaves his rundown manor. Lured by whispers of kidnap and murder, Lucas’s curiosity leads him with his new best friend into the woods, where he soon discovers the darkness between the trees conceals more terrors than he ever imagined.
A cure must be found before the next full moon… or the beast that grows impatiently stronger by the day will finally be free.
Amid the mounting number of violent deaths, shaking the once peaceful village to its core, Lucas fights to keep his entire world from falling apart.
Themes in this book really rang true with me; concerning freedom and the cages our own lives and the people in it can create for us. I found the main character charming and contrastingly human to his friend. The ending was not what I expected but it seemed the only possible end to Lucas's problem. There was two paths that could have happened to him. I won't give it away. Just read it to find out
