Jack Frost is about to lose everything. After attempting to again destroy Christmas, the Holiday that he hates more than anything, he is threatened with losing his job, and his Immortality. But, he is given one last chance at redemption.

That last chance lands Jack in the North Pole the week before Christmas, in order to help Santa Claus prepare for his busiest night of the year. There, Jack is tasked with the job of “Tour Guide”, in order to show Santa’s granddaughter, Clara, the sights of the Pole.

As Christmas draws nearer, and Jack’s time begins to run out, he finds himself becoming fond of Clara, who attempts to show him the real meaning of Christmas, all while shocking him with her unique view of the world.

But, the past proves hard to reconcile, and soon, Jack hatches one last plan to destroy Christmas, a plan involving Clara, which may prove fatal not only for the Pole, but for her, as well -- unless Clara can melt his icy heart in time.

The first book in the fan-favorite series, the Snowflake Triplet, Clara Claus is a fantastical adventure that reminds us of the importance of hope, and the real meaning of Christmas.

This book was a great surprise!

Jack Frost is well...Jack Frost. He works in the North Pole aling with Santa Claus and North Wind and everyone else, making Christmas happen, but there's one special thing about him. Jack hates Christmas. He even tries to destroy them from time to time and when he gets his final notice from St.Nick, who os dying to expel him, he decides to try his last plan.
But when the North Pole gets an anexpected visitor, Clara Claus, Stanta's grand-daughter, Jack thinks he should make her the tool of his revenge.

The book is very emotional, there is not so much action, but mostly things are happening inside Jack's and Clara's heads. They are both expiriencing things for the first time and they change along the way. Even if they are complitely different they both remind me a part of myself which helped me connect with them and care about them.

My favourite character was North, Jack's friend. He was so mystirious and different from any real person that made me all the more curious. I got the feeling that he always knew everything that was going on.

The things I didn't like are that the book is small and everything happens in a week time, so it felt like everything was happening too fast. I'd like it more if Jack had more time to be his usual 'hating-xmas' self and get to know Clara more slowly. Another was the ending...I am not really sure but I got the feeling that there was more to the story. There were a few lines that indicated that. And then I read at the Author's note that there was supposed to be a sequel. Supposed to be? What's that all about? I want the sequel!

To conclude, the book is a great fast read and it's perfect for christmas!

What is the true meaning of Christmas?

"The world was given the greatest gift, and that's what started Christmas."

Jack Frost has done it again! He's tried to destroy Christmas, and now he's going to loose his job--for good. And the only thing that can save him is something he doesn't want...to fall in love with a human before sunrise on Christmas morn.

As Christmas draws nearer and Jack's time ticks by, Santa's granddaughter Clara arrives in the North Pole. Playing the role of "tour guide", Jack feels drawn to the snow obsessed girl, who sees things as no one else does.

But when faced with the chance to leave the past behind, will the prince of winter choose to look towards the future? Will Jack's new plan to destroy Christmas prove fatal for the North Pole and its holiday, or can Clara finally melt his icy heart?

In this fantastical Holiday novel, author Alexandra Lanc explores the wonder of Christmas and reveals the truth about hope.

What else could be more perfect than to spark your Christmas mood with a romantic story of actual Christmas characters?

Quote from the Author's note: Even though it’s called Clara Claus, the story is truly about Jack Frost.

Christmas has been my favourite holiday in the year, and I enjoyed everything related to Christmas. I've eaten turkey, I've opened presents, I've watched Jim Carrey as Scrooge, but Clara Claus was as good as all the other movies I've watched (perhaps better) and I was completely smittened by the story.

Though the book was titled Clara Claus, the story centered around Jack Frost (do you know the 'blue' man in Christmas shows? But Jack was not blue here though ~grins~), who was one of Santa's employee that hated Christmas and tried to destroy this festive day in numeral occasions. He was going to be banished from the North Pole if he did not find 'love' in one week. Having being bitter and cold for the past few years because of a horrific tragedy that happened because of Christmas, Jack thought the task was absurd and tried to come up yet with another plan to destroy Christmas. Until he was given an even more ridiculous task, he was appointed to be Santa's granddaughter's tour guide, in short, Clara's babysitter. The horror! But Jack had figured that he could use Clara for his own expense, he would change her mind on Christmas (and Santa) and make her carry out his masterplan. The question is, did Jack changed Clara or did Clara changed Jack....

I just have to praise Alexandra for coming up with this brilliant story plot! I never came across a Jack Frost's story (not to mention I have not read any Christmas-related book) and was actually amazed that Alexandra decided to dedicate her first book to a not-so-recognized character in Christmas tradition. If I were to ask my friends who Jack Frost was, they would probably answer 'Isn't he the snow man?' Close, but still...Frost and snow are two completely different things aren't they?

Clara Claus was a touching, humorous and satisfying read, and often I found myself to be biting my lips and trying to quench the ache I felt when reading the bitter story that happened to both Clara and Jack. Often I was overwhelmed with the deisre to give them a huge hug!

Jack was probably my favourite character in the story (not trying to be cliche for falling in love with the main character:P). At first, he was hot tempered and full of anger and was extremely 'Frosty', but I always laughed at his overreaction and outburst, despite being such a/an (adorable) kid, I find him funny. Yet throughout the book, I had watched him mature and accept love, although love had been something he could not comprehend. I love reading abouthis journey of discovering love, and discovering the true meaning of Christmas.

I am always picky with the girl characters I read about in stories, but there was nothing I would complain about with Clara, she might have just faced a tragedy, and was controlled by her Cinderella-stepmother, but she was strong, and she wouldn't let that define her. I respected her because she has such a good heart and she was not easiy detered from getting to know Jack.

Of course, the beautiful snowy and Christmas-ish setting also painted a graphic image in my mind (I was a click away from booking myself a ticket to North Pole) and the story would not be the same if we don't have Santa and St.Nick (TWO ENTIRELY DIFFERENT PEOPLE!) and other characters that made the story alive! Furthermore, this story was creative because (I try to give as little spoilers as possible):

1. Who would have thought of Santa's 'business' has a company-like system?

2. Santa's people were actually immortals!

3. That Santa's employees don't only make toys but actually has cool superpowers as well? Like Jack Frost who created Frost, North who is responsible for the North Wind, and, oh you get the idea....

A Christmas story with a fairytale and romantic twist retold in a moden adaptation just for everyone! Perfect way to welcome Christmas, even if you don't celebrate it!

Check out my interview with Alexndra about Clara Claus:
http://queenofteenfiction.blogspot.co...

I’ve got to say, this novel really surprised me! I’d never really come across a YA book about Christmas before and didn’t really know what I was going to make of it – but I totally fell in love with it!

After trying to destroy Christmas once again, the Winter Council have decided that Jack has to fall in love with a human before Christmas morning if he wants to continue being Jack Frost.

Clara goes to the North Pole to spend Christmas with her grandfather, only to discover that he is Santa Claus! And who has he assigned to show her around the place? None other than the cold-hearted Jack Frost.

With only a week until Christmas, Jack decides to try and use Clara in his latest attempt to destroy the holiday in which he hates before he is kicked out of Council. But the more Jack gets to know Clara, the less he can deceive her. Will her really be able to use her in order to ruin Christmas if it means breaking Clara’s heart?

I adored Jack Frost! He is seriously a brilliant character! This story is very much about his life changing before his very eyes and him learning to accept and deal with the events of his past. He may not be very nice at times, but you can’t help but love him!

And Clara is just a big sweetheart!

I found the story completely unique and quite a breath of fresh air! It's beautifuly written and is totally different to anything I’ve read before. I’m sure this is a book that I will now read every Christmas!

This is a really heart-warming story about love and hope that is the perfect read for the holidays. If you only read one book this Christmas, make sure it’s this one!

I'm apologizing beforehand for the amount of criticism I'm about to spew, but it needs to be done:

1. Page 28- "She couldn't afford to loose herself in the past..."
2. Page 52- "He would loose it if his granddaughter started to hate him..."
3. Page 56- "If she were to loose him, she would be left with nothing."
4. Page 66- "He couldn't afford to loose his head now."
5. Page 80- "Get your head back on straight, Jack, before you loose it."
6. Page 107-108- This whole section is practically teaching pre-teen females to latch on to men with issues, trying to "fix" them. That concept truly disgusts me.
7. Page 133- "...he trailed off, and his eyes seemed to glaze over, loosing focus of her."
8. Page 203- "She was losing color, fading fast, and if he didn't do something, he was going to loose her forever..."
9. Page 278- "Clara was sitting at her desk when it happened, the journal Santa had given her the Christmas before open in front of her, displaying one page exactly." (open?)

I'm sure there are more errors, it just seemed that book was full of them. Also EVERY OTHER PAGE seemed to have a "reverie" that was broken by someone's voice which I found to be painfully annoying. The entire book consisted of character staring off into space with wide, dreamy eyes, and someone's voice snapped them back to reality. A few times, fine. Every single page, annoying.

There was one line in this book that I thought was very sweet, and the message was beautiful. On page 203 Santa says, "Just because I can't do everything, I'm not going to stop doing anything." That's truly a powerful statement, and I believe this world would be a better place if more people adopted that philosophy.

This book was nothing like I thought it would be, but I really enjoyed it. It’s a Christmas fantasy novel about Jack Frost who hates Christmas and has planned to destroy it. I liked Jack and Clara as characters and of course I liked seeing Santa and Mrs Claus together at the North Pole. North was a good friend to Jack and I overall really liked the story.

This was a perfect Christmas read. The author has created a cozy, festive, detailed North Pole in which we follow Clara Claus who recently just found out that the grandfather she has never met is the infamous Santa Claus. Since Clara will be spending the holiday's with her grandfather, and he is obviously busy this time of year, she is provided with a tour guide to show her around. None other than Jack Frost himself. The only thing is, Jack Frost is not doing this without a hidden agenda. This is his punishment for trying to destroy Christmas yet again. Jack figures by agreeing to be a tour guide, this will give him the inside access he needs to completely destroying Christmas for good. What he doesn't bargain for is falling in love with Clara......

Clara is immediately drawn to Jack. His sour attitude and short temper doesn't faze her. Nor does the fact that noone else seems to like Jack. Clara only sees a well dressed boy, who is hiding something....and not just the fact that he hates Christmas. It's WHY he hates Christmas.

I have to say, although I liked all the characters (especially Jack) the only thing standing in the way of me rating this book a solid 4 stars was Clara's questions. I don't think I've ever read a book containing a character that asks so many questions....why, why, why, why.....that and constantly second guessing everything....did he mean that? maybe he meant that. but what did he mean? that couldn't be what he meant....ugh!!!!!

Overall, the best contemporary Christmas book I've read and I will defenitely follow the rest of this series!

I loved this concept for a book. Legendary figures with romance. (BTW - I love the movie Legend of the Guardians, maybe cuz Chris Pine does the voice of Jack Frost). Anyway...I thought it was good, enjoyed the story-line, liked all the characters except for Mrs. Claus, I mean, have you ever heard of a Mrs. Claus with a little temper, I don't think so.

It was a little wordy at times and repetitive a few more times, but overall I did enjoy it. (Oh, and she used bare instead of bear a few times, "IDK if I can bare it"....a little annoying.)

Moral Note: clean language, clean romance, little mention of drunks & shootings (mild violence there), and a self-absorbed step mother.

A little hint: Get The Christmas Wish, read Part 1, then read this then Part 2 of The Christmas Wish.

(Also - I can't remember if it was in this one, or in The Christmas Wish but at the end they joke a little about guns and I thought that was very poor taste.)

Lovely story

This is a beautiful love story. I love all the characters especially Jack Frost. Jack Frost story was very touching. I would like to know more about him. The romance between Jack and Clara went too fast for my taste.

It's a perfect Christmas story. I can't wait to read more about them. Highly recommend it!

I love Christmas and I wanted to like this story that had so much potential. But in reality, the writing and storyline were only mediocre. I didn't really connect with the characters and I'm definitely not interested enough to read the other books in the triplet.

Fondamentalmente io e Alexandra siamo molto simili.

My Review: I had a difficult with this one, I really really dislike the main character, Clara. She is suppose to be nearly 18 years old and I found her to be far more immature and (I couldn't really come up with a nicer way to say this) ignorant. It was as though she was just a means to get Jack to react and reveal himself instead of actually playing a role in the story. I did however really enjoy Jack's personality, he was really the only character I enjoyed. I even had difficulty connecting with the story line. All in all I have a short story novella from this series downloaded so I will read it but I can't see myself purchasing any more in this series.

Very cute holiday story about love, family, and the true meaning of Christmas even though the featured characters are secular: Santa, Jack Frost, Clara Claus. Jack Frost is in trouble with the Winter Council and is about to be banished for trying to ruin Christmas...TWICE! However, Santa sees it in his heart to have Jack help him prepare for Christmas during the last days before Christmas. Jack also has to find love in his heart for a human. Jack doesn't think he will be able to do this because A) his every intention is to try to ruin Christmas a THIRD time now that he has inside access and B) Jack knows he will never love another human because he is cold and unloving.

Jack is in for a surprise because Santa's grandaughter is at the North Pole for her first visit and it's Jack's duty to show her around and keep an eye on her. Jack is absulutely exasperated! He does not want to take care of a little girl, Clara, because his only intent is to ruin Christmas. But as he gets to know Clara, Jack's heart begins to melt. Jack begrugdingly starts to accept Clara and soon he realizes that he actually likes Clara. Clara is a sweet little girl and she teaches Jack about love, caring, and the holiday spirit. Will Jack be banished from the Winter Council or will he be tamed by the charming Clara? This is one of the lovliest Christmas stories that I have read in awhile AND it was a Kindle Freebie! I highly recommend it if you want to read a sweet original Christmas story. 4 stars!

I recieved Clara Claus for free through Goodreads FirstReads, and I am very glad I did.
Clara Claus begins with the devious Jack Frost being punished for his latest attempt to destroy Christmas, the holiday he hates with his entire being. Saving him from being fired (the title 'Jack Frost' is his job), Santa requests that Frost helps him prepare for Christmas and that Frost must fall in love with a human by Christmas morning, a week away. Clara Claus, meeting her Santa grandfather for the first time, arrives at the North Pole, and Santa assigns Jack to give her a tour.
I will stop with the summary there, so readers can learn the rest themselves.
My overall thoughts on the book were that it was charming, light-hearted, and I think both the book and the author have a lot of potential. I laughed and cried with the characters, but I feel more connections between the reader and characters could have been given if the story was told in first person, not third. Even so, it was still an adorable, unique story, and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series. If you like holiday stories, sweet romances, clean books, and laughter, I would say go pick this book up and enjoy.

Alexandra Lanc has flipped the Christmas story around and told it from the viewpoint of none other than Jack Frost himself! What a terrific twist!

Jack is in trouble with the Winter Council...as usual. Only this time he will be expelled and lose his Immortality if he doesn't meet the challenge placed before him by Kris Kringle. This challenge is that he must fall in love with a human before sunrise on Christmas morning. Where in the world of Immortals...will Jack find a human to fall in love with? In walks Clara Claus....Santa's granddaughter. Only Jack isn't really interested in meeting the challenge...his only desire is to destroy Christmas...and he will use Clara to ends if necessary....or will he?

Even though Jack Frost is mean soul you can't help but fall in love with him and want to help him!

I loved the story and would really LOVE to see the sequel!!

A cute Christmas story with an original concept, Clara Claus introduces shy, naive teenager Clara to her Grandfather, Santa, who in turn assigns her to Jack Frost, a surly, arrogant rebel. Santa appears to have known what he was doing, as the gentle girl and the outcast (eventually) listen to each other’s painful stories and help each other heal. I liked, but didn’t love, the characters. Jack was a perpetual nineteen, with a chip on his shoulder, and even if immortals don’t age, one would think he would have acquired some wisdom over the years. Clara was sweet, but a little too passive, clueless, and impulsive. I felt the book was longer than it needed to be, covering the same ground repeatedly, but I still enjoyed this different take on a Christmas romance.

I hate the star rating system and need 1/2 stars. This book was a definite 4.5 stars for me.

What an extrodinary story of love and hope with Christmas in the mix. I was taken from the start of this book and fell in love with so many of the Characters. Of course, Jack & Clara were my favorite, but what about the others North, Sugar Plum Fairy, St. Nick, Kris (a/k/a Santa), Mrs. Claus.

This is a story about Jack Frost and how he hates Christmas. He meets Clara and starts to see things differently. It is a perfect Christmas read and brings back fond memories of the Holiday movies that will soon be coming to TV.

Sit down with a nice cup of cocoa and enjoy the journey.

I love this book! The characters are funny, but real. I never really liked Santa Clause stories until I read this one and I fell head over heels for it! While it has romance, it isn't some sappy Christmas romance; it deals with the emotions of the characters outside the romance and how those issues factor in to the relationship. Most of all, it looks at the true meaning of Christmas in a new light.
