I'm a professional writer and illustrator, with 23 children’s books published so far and several others in the works. I write for all ages, from toddlers to adults, and enjoy working on my own, as well as in collaboration with other authors and illustrators.
In terms of style, my illustrations tend to be more whimsical than realistic, and I've worked in watercolor, oils, pastels, pen and ink, and collage. Lately, I've been experimenting with layering colors in oils and using the resulting swatches to create collage. It makes me happy to work with so many gorgeous, rich colors.
My writing ranges from extensively researched, powerful non-fiction narrative to humorous fiction and poetry, with some folktales and other stories thrown in for fun. I write things that move me or make me laugh, and I hope that my readers will enjoy them.
This book is for children. The key topic is that you’re never too little for anything. In this story Emily and Harry were coming up with April Fools tricks but Harry had a lot of good tricks and Emily started feeling upset because she couldn’t come up with any. Harry spent the whole day doing all different kinds of tricks and Emily didn’t have any. Eventually after a lot of thinking she came up with a lot of good tricks that were better than Harry. I rate this book a 4/5 because it was very interesting but I think it could’ve been a little better. However, I think it’s something that can make children laugh.
I believe we read this one well after April Fool's day. (He read it with his dad before the holiday). I really don't remember much other than the siblings are learning about April's fools day and Emily is considered to young to understand it. I was not entranced by this book, and Oz only requested it one time.
Two cat siblings play harmless tricks on one another and their parents for April Fools' Day. The story is better written and more involved than many easy readers, with lots of cause and effect. The scribbly illustrations could have used more polish in my opinion.
This book is about two friends that pull April Fool's jokes on each other and their friends. This book is used specifically to teach students how to read. This books has simple vocabulary and few words per page.
