Izzy wants to be a different person for one night. She was tired of being a Valentino and she wants to forget about her family's reputation just for a single night. So she went to the enemy's territory and had a drink in a Russian bar. This is where she met Mikhail and they had ONS (fade to black scene)
After six weeks, she found out that she's pregnant and the Russian enemy aka Mikhail is the baby daddy. This time too, her uncle gave her a job to kill Mikhail and she took the order. As for Mikhail, he wanted to kill Izzy too after finding out who she really was. But after knowing she's pregnant, and he knew deep down it was his, he changed his mind and went into caveman mode wanting to protect her and their unborn child.
Izzy was determined to execute her uncle's order despite the warring emotions she was having. So for the last time she slept with Mikhail, and when she was sure he was asleep, she sliced him and left him to bleed.
Four months have passed after this incident. She went to Italy to protect her baby from her family's enemies and from the Russians. She was devastated inside for "killing" Mikhail. She didn't want to do it but she felt like she had no choice. Little did she know, he survived and recuperated for a month, and after getting better he followed her to Italy. He stalked her for the last three months 😂 because despite the fact that Izzy left him for dead, he realized he still wants her and he decided that she'll be his and he would take care of her and their baby.
This is where the forced proximity comes in, he eventually reveals himself to Izzy. After the reality sinks in that she didn't kill him, they become glued to one another. He didn't leave her side until she gave birth. Of course, Izzy's family was there too and Italians and Russians in the same house aren't really a good combination. They wanted to kill each other and Mikhail doesn't give a crap about them and he only cares about Izzy and their daughter.
At the end, it was revealed that Mikhail's right hand and best friend is the rat in their organization. This rat teamed up with the Irish and they attacked Mikhail and Izzy at the island. Mikhail was able to send her away before the chaos ensued and when the enemies were wiped out, he went to the location Izzy was supposed to go to, only for him to find out that she and their baby weren't there. We'll see what happens in the final book.
I like the FMC she's strong, feisty, sassy, headstrong, and has a huge heart for the oppressed and abused. I also enjoyed the enemies-to-lovers vibes though I wished it would've dragged for a bit longer. Their annoyance with one another didn't last for very long because of their attraction and horniness 😂 I liked the family dynamics in Izzy's side, they're helpful and supportive in every way and I really appreciate this kind of relationship in an organized crime romance. Usually the familial relationships in some of these stories are toxic and abusive. Reading how these Valentinos interact with each member is a breath of fresh air.
I also like Mikhail, this guy was obsessed with her since the first time they met, and his denial had me laughing at times. Even before her pregnancy, he kind of felt a little possessive of Izzy already, but this was only intensified after finding out she's carrying his kid. This man is so caring, dependable, and thoughtful with the two most important girls in his life. He would literally die for them in a heartbeat. I like the fact too that he doesn't give a crap even though he's surrounded by Valentinos, he didn't back down and go toe to toe with them. I like the tension between these men, and I'm anticipating who would make the first move to start a war. Thank God nothing of that happened. 😂
Overall, I enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to the conclusion of this duet. 😄

When i first read the love story about the heroine’s parents, I immediately fell in love with the heroine’s mother angelica who is also a great assassin. And also with the heroine herself cause in a young age she knows how to fight so well and also knows how to use her guns since she was basically 6 six years old. YES SIX YEARS OLD. That’s such a badass for me not gonna lie😙 I’ve been waiting on this book for a long time guys… I cannot wait for more!!!! 😌😌
SO THE STORY STARTS WITH THE HEROINE AKA THE OLDEST VALENTINO is trying to pretend to be someone else for just one night. Well in the end we actually can see she likes to do this from time to time to escape her real life as a mafia princess. A fantasy she created to escape… One night she dressed up as someone else and using a random name. The heroine went to a club in NEW YORK CITY. When she arrived, she sits down at the bar and order her drink. She immediately saw the bartender who is so handsome and was serving her drinks. The bartender caught her eye and also the bartender is interested. They immediately hit it off, go in the office at the club and have crazy great s3x ❤️🔥😏 And turns out the bartender is the hero himself… The heroine immediately leaves the next morning when the hero was still sleeping. The next day it was busy for the hero cause he also discovered that his big brother who also the pakhan at the time is dead. The hero have to stepped in to be the next pakhan and he did. But he also know that the knife that his brother owned is lost at the office when he had s3x with the heroine… He immediately knows that the heroine stole it from him. And that’s when he try and try so hard to find the heroine… Who she actually is and he also secretly wants her so bad….

The hero after was saved, he immediately went to the club to have his revenge on the owner. So he was basically was trying to after the enemy in the club. He doesn’t go there because he wants to… BUT ALSO AT THE SAME TIME, the hero knows that the heroine is pregnant with his baby. BUT THE HEROINE WAS BEING SUCH A B*TCH TO HIM by telling him that is not his baby like many times! And they weren’t exclusive! The hero tried to be serious with the heroine because he also even before he knows she’s pregnant, he was falling hard for her but she was too scared to be with him… So to be clear, during this trip to the strip club, the heroine is a complete b*tch to the hero and they weren’t exclusive cause the heroine push him away many many times… Okay back to the strip club: When two woman was offering something to the hero (they didn’t touch him) he immediately say no. He didn’t feel anything, no hard nada. When the stage’s light comes up, the hero thought he will get a hard one. He did. Because the stripper who came to the stage is the heroine herself😛 Man that was epic 🤣🤣 The hero thought he came to kill someone when actually the heroine is also plan to kill someone as well by first dressing up as a stripper. And no the heroine is not a stripper!

The hero in the past said to himself that he likes to have his fair share of woman (only one time he ever said that) but people or even his workers never ever mentioned it. The hero is a ruthless boss, he likes to kill a lot when someone is pissing him off and someone do him wrong. He immediately kills them right that second… The hero have been through a lot but was not talked about. The hero is a family man, even though he can be cruel but when it comes to family he really is a family man.
‼️‼️‼️THE HEROINE omg. Where do i even start with this amazing woman😙 The heroine is definitely a sassy woman, knows how to fight so well seriously crazy, she is very close with all of her family members which is so cute and sweet to see that! The heroine always choose her family even when she is annoyed with them, she is loved by her family cause all of them knows how scary she can be like even her male cousins is scared of her… Unfortunately the heroine in the past have s3x with a lot of man to escape her real life that eventually in the end we can see why she is the way she is…. I sympathize with her. But all of her sex partners only last for one night and never more… She never have a serious boyfriend before and never ever introduced her family to anyone. Only with the hero. The heroine is new with the whole serious commitment relationship with the hero so oftentimes she can be mean to him… And even too hard on him. But thankfully the hero never gave up on her no matter how many times she even crossed the line with him🥺 She never cheated on him fyi.

But also at the time he want to see her cause he wants the knife that the heroine stole from him but deep down he knows that is more than that… This is where i know the hero really is obsessed and love the heroine so much: The heroine stab the hero’s thigh when he went to see her, the heroine also after she stabbed him she shoot one of his arm (but in the area she knows it’s fine cause deep down she also wants him but too scared about their relationship to go further), then few weeks later the heroine tried to kill the hero in his own bed but failed because he was alive and well. AND DURING THOSE TIMES SHE DID THAT TO HIM WHICH IS AKA FVCKING WRONG AND TERRIBLE, HE DID NOTHING TO REVENGE ON HER… HE DID NOT GET MAD AT HER AND HE NEVER EVER MADE THAT A PROBLEM…
Like what??? She did all that to you!!! And not a slightest bit he was mad at her. HE EVEN WANTS HER SOOO BADLY DESPITE ALL OF THAT😫 SO yes i can say the hero loves the heroine sooo deeply and will do anything to be with her! The heroine push the hero many times but he never did the same to her. He never far from her. He never despise her everrrr 😫😫 even when someone who is close to him like the right hand man tells him that what the heroine did to him is bad and he should rethink her, he punch him🤣 cause he cares for her so deeply🥺🥺🥺 I never see a hero that is still that in love with a heroine who hurt him physically and emotionally 🤣

They went on a date like one time but it was sweet and great though. Even though at first they were not very romantic but at least that doesn’t last long and just went straight to being so wanting each other badly. I think we will see more of the chemistry in the second book though… This first book is more about them getting to know each other while still scared of the unknown cause both of them grow up with a mafia family and mafia business around them.
‼️‼️‼️MANY JEALOUS SCENES from the hero and very few from the heroine. The hero even wants the heroine’s ex fvck buddies list to kill them all🤣🤣🤣 which is bad and hot at the same time idk why😫🤣🤣 at least for me🤣🤣

The thing that shows up is one time only from the hero side is a woman from the mafia family that wants the hero and offer the hero s3x but the hero immediately tells her to go away. Only that from the hero! And from the heroine is when the heroine was trying to forget the hero by going to a club again to live her fantasy. The heroine was about to leave the club with a man (she only touched his arm but never more than that) but the heroine’s cousin disturb her so it failed. And the heroine stopped doing that because at that time, she later found out she was pregnant so of course she can’t pretend to be someone else anymore. Side note: the heroine did that because she was scared about the hero, he is the enemy of her family for a very long time. And the history is a very bad one so i understand her concern about being scared to actually be with the hero at first though…. Argh
‼️‼️‼️LOCATION: New york, italy and some private island in Australia.
‼️‼️‼️AGE: the heroine is in her mid thirty and the hero though he didn’t actually say but definitely not old… i think they were in the same age lol.
‼️‼️‼️IT HAS SEPARATION. The first separation happened when they weren’t exclusive though and that lasted for weeks after they had s3x for the first time… Even when the hero finally found out who she is and she is pregnant, they still weren’t exclusive cause of the heroine. They meet up couple of times but it was in a bad circumstances, not plan lol🤣 The second separation LASTED FOR FOUR MONTHS. The heroine have to go to italy while being pregnant with her best friend with her. During those months of her being in Italy, THE HERO SECRETLY STALK HER EVERY DAY. He even leave the pakhan mafia business for that long just to be with the heroine like that🥺 When he stalked her, he watched her by far every single day. YES EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! When the hero have to go away for business emergencies, he order his man to also protect the heroine by far. See how much he wants and loves the heroine 😏🥺
DURING THE SEPARATION WHEN THEY WEREN’T EXCLUSIVE AND THEN EXCLUSIVE, BOTH ARE VERY LOYAL TO EACH OTHER AND NEVER GO TO ANYONE ELSE. Well the heroine almost do that but then didn’t do it. The hero never everrrrrr!
‼️‼️‼️VERY HOTT SMUT SCENES🔥🔥🔥😍😍 NOT MUCH THOUGH but at least it was very hot and intense moment for them😏😏😏 Especially the hero really worship the heroine’s body and always touching her all the freakin time😆😆😆 When the heroine push him away or telling him this and that bad things, he always touches her…

When i first read the love story about the heroine’s parents, I immediately fell in love with the heroine’s mother angelica who is also a great assassin. And also with the heroine herself cause in a young age she knows how to fight so well and also knows how to use her guns since she was basically 6 six years old. YES SIX YEARS OLD. That’s such a badass for me not gonna lie😙 I’ve been waiting on this book for a long time guys… I cannot wait for more!!!! 😌😌
SO THE STORY STARTS WITH THE HEROINE AKA THE OLDEST VALENTINO is trying to pretend to be someone else for just one night. Well in the end we actually can see she likes to do this from time to time to escape her real life as a mafia princess. A fantasy she created to escape… One night she dressed up as someone else and using a random name. The heroine went to a club in NEW YORK CITY. When she arrived, she sits down at the bar and order her drink. She immediately saw the bartender who is so handsome and was serving her drinks. The bartender caught her eye and also the bartender is interested. They immediately hit it off, go in the office at the club and have crazy great s3x ❤️🔥😏 And turns out the bartender is the hero himself… The heroine immediately leaves the next morning when the hero was still sleeping. The next day it was busy for the hero cause he also discovered that his big brother who also the pakhan at the time is dead. The hero have to stepped in to be the next pakhan and he did. But he also know that the knife that his brother owned is lost at the office when he had s3x with the heroine… He immediately knows that the heroine stole it from him. And the heroine stopped doing that because at that time, she later found out she was pregnant so of course she can’t pretend to be someone else anymore. Side note: the heroine did that because she was scared about the hero, he is the enemy of her family for a very long time. And the history is a very bad one so i understand her concern about being scared to actually be with the hero at first though…. Argh

Kylie Kent does not disappoint 👏 🙌 I love everyone of the Valentino books. This family makes me want to read more and more. I honestly loved the relationship between Isabella and Mikhail, I was so shocked when she stabbed him, though. I can't wait for the next book in this series. The whole Valentino family is entertaining and have me equally scared and laughing at the same time. Bring on more! ,

Well it’s clear that Kylie Kent knows just what she’s doing when writing these Valentino’s. It all started with Theo and Holly and damn I loved them, but it did not end with Theo. We got Neo and Angelica’s story and Theo’s mother and the man he didn’t know was his father as a little short. There was the heartbreaking story of Lola, Neo’s sister, which finished off the beginning of the Valentino Empire.
Kylie wasn’t done though she bought on the Sons of Valentino. Theo, Matteo, Romeo and Luca and these boys may have out done their father and that was a big job to do. Now we have the Valentino devilette herself, Izzy Valentino. Neo and Angelica are her parents and they are some of the most dangerous Valentino’s and Izzy has grown up in her parents world and she’s one tough woman.
Izzy Valentino can give her cousins a run for their money. She’s just as tough and lethal as they are and maybe even a little wilder. She’s the older of them but as a woman she’s not expected to be a leader, despite her uncle and grandfather’s beliefs that she is more than capable. So while Izzy might be a bad ass in the family and treated as equal to the men, she’s also a little trapped in their world. She’s a part of the family and wants to be, but her desire to be someone else is also something she craves. To not be Isabella Valentino just for a while is something she needs.
This is exactly what leads Izzy down the path that will cause a lot of trouble.
Mikhail is the dangerous man that is going to turn Izzy’s world upside down. He’s supposed to be one night of letting of steam, but her actions and the whole evening is going to set them on a crash course into each other. He’s been burdened with taking over the family and it wasn’t a role he had ever wanted. Izzy entering his life is the catalyst for Mikhail’s life changing and the beginning of his rule and the aftermath of one night will cause a ripple effect across two families.
I loved the conflict between the two the push and pull that goes back and forth between them. They don’t know they are enemies when they meet but it’s not long before the truth is out and its not a happy discovery. It’s more of a destroy the enemy outlook but maybe enjoy them one more time before ending them. Killing each other is the only possible solution but only until a little secret comes out, then everything is turned inside out.
These characters were strong, dangerous and dark. On top of that they are deep and loyal and fiercely passionate. Together they are destined to crash into each other and whether it destroys them all or makes them stronger is yet to be seen.
It’s so unfair that we have to wait for the second book Vengeful Devilette but I have no doubt that Kylie is going to make it one hell of a ride and we’ll be left blown away again.

Mikhail can’t believe what lengths Izzy would go to to keep herself safe and while he should be furious about it instead he’s becomes even more drawn to her. She’s not going to make it easy though and even he knows the consequences could be dire but he will never be letting Izzy go. The Italian’s and the Russian’s will have a whole other reason to go to war.
‘His intentions are for us to live out some fairy tale that ends with a happily ever after. And obviously, that’s not happening.” “Why not? You deserve your fairy tale too, Iz.” “Fairy tales don’t involve falling in love with the enemy,” I tell him.’

I wanted to like this one, but I couldn't get over the writing mistakes.
-what even is the timeline? (This is my understanding while reading): They fuck then 6 WEEKS later, he finds out she's preggers, then he's gone for 4 months. So 5-6 months pregnant. But a week after the reunion, which btw I was confused bc she was talking about being whale sized, she falls in a tunnel and starts bleeding. The next chapter opens with the birth and my first thought was "micro premie" bc 6 months and Isabella is screaming it's too soo.n, only for her to then also say she's 8 months along. EIGHT!? How in the HELL?
-when Mikhail learns about his cousins, in that same like area, he says he never pays attention to women and children-spouses and family-because he never goes after them. However, earlier in the book when Ivan said to take the daughter or some Irishman or whatever, who is in college, mikhail snapped at him that they won't do that "anymore" and women and children were "now" off limits bc he was picturing it happening to his wife and kid. He legit states "he would have but" meaning this statement of him not paying attention to Isabellas extended family is incorrect and just a convenient excuse as to why he's never noticed Maddie is his missing cousin.
-at the showdown, Viktor is shot between the eyes. This isn't a problem bc he was one of two men Mikhail trusted now (the other being Lex) so like, WHY Kylie Kent would you even do that?? He needs good people in his corner #rude. no, it's a problem because A) so many headshots in this book. That's Mikhails favorite way to murder, although I grant you the time he took out 10 traitors it was a mercy compared to what he did to the others. But he also did "clean" headshots. Well here's yet ANOTHER headshot (what are the chances so many ppl can die this way? Don't situations ever get messy? Granted 9/10 and Ivan did not die of a headshot. They opened fire, through smoke, and managed to get a bullet between his eyes and NOTHING else? REALLY? REALLY!? because if they're carefully shooting as they enter the room, so they could land a precise headshot, why wasn't Mikhail hit at all? Was he hiding behind something? Is that why they didn't see him when they got Viktor and had to turn guns his way, even though if they were precisely shooting wouldn't they have clocked him too before he could even realize Viktor was dead? was Viktor standing out like it's open season on loyal henchmen? Was this just the easiest, laziest way Kylie Kent could cause collateral damage either bc she wanted a body count or bc she didn't want him to have support? (WE NEED TO PROTECT LEX AT ALL COSTS, CLEARLY).

-what even is the timeline? (This is my understanding while reading): They fuck then 6 WEEKS later, he finds out she's preggers, then he's gone for 4 months. So 5-6 months pregnant. But a week after the reunion, which btw I was confused bc she was talking about being whale sized, she falls in a tunnel and starts bleeding. The next chapter opens with the birth and my first thought was "micro premie" bc 6 months and Isabella is screaming it's too soo.n, only for her to then also say she's 8 months along. EIGHT!? How in the HELL?
-when Mikhail learns about his cousins, in that same like area, he says he never pays attention to women and children-spouses and family-because he never goes after them. However, earlier in the book when Ivan said to take the daughter or some Irishman or whatever, who is in college, mikhail snapped at him that they won't do that "anymore" and women and children were "now" off limits bc he was picturing it happening to his wife and kid. He legit states "he would have but" meaning this statement of him not paying attention to Isabellas extended family is incorrect and just a convenient excuse as to why he's never noticed Maddie is his missing cousin.
-at the showdown, Viktor is shot between the eyes. This isn't a problem bc he was one of two men Mikhail trusted now (the other being Lex) so like, WHY Kylie Kent would you even do that?? He needs good people in his corner #rude. no, it's a problem because A) so many headshots in this book. That's Mikhails favorite way to murder, although I grant you the time he took out 10 traitors it was a mercy compared to what he did to the others. But he also did "clean" headshots. Well here's yet ANOTHER headshot (what are the chances so many ppl can die this way? Don't situations ever get messy? Granted 9/10 and Ivan did not die of a headshot. Let me start this with saying I LOVE every single book Kylie Kent writes! The worlds that she has created have me constantly wanting more!
This is book one in the Legacy of Valentino and it focuses on Izzy, the daughter of Neo and Angelica. Izzy has always been on of those characters whom I wanted to see more of and oh boy do we get more!
Izzy is the strongest of the Valentino/Donatello women and is a true force to reckon with in the Valentino Family.
When Izzy falls in lust with Mikhail (a Petrov) her life takes a sudden and unexpected turn. These two families are connected yet so far apart and Mikhail is trying to diffuse the feud that has been raging for years. The details of the past mixed with the intense circumstances of the present will keep the reader on their toes!
So many unexpected things happen in this book that I do not want to give anything away!
I will say that I never thought Dom and Lucy could ever share the spotlight as my favorite couple, but here comes Izzy and Mikhail! The cliff we are left on at the end just makes want even more!

Holy cliffhanger!
If this is a new to you author, I encourage you to start from the beginning and enjoy the ride. The books can be read as standalones, however they often overlap in timeline and frequently assume you know details and events that have happened. And they are worth starting at the beginning. I love this crazy world. These are all alpha men who fall head over heels for their queen, typically at first sight, and are OTT possessive and protective while worshipping them. There’s never any question of their feelings, as they lose their minds for her. It’s delicious every time.
This time we have Mikhail and Izzy, and it’s a wild ride. Their families have a long standing history of being enemies, so finding herself pregnant with his baby is sure to bring drama. We get a lot of the extended family in this book as well, which is always a good time. That cliffy though….

In a twisted Romeo and Juliet, she meets and beds Mikhail - a Petrov and her enemy. Six weeks later and she’s staring at a positive test and vies who’s the daddy? Lol. Well let’s say this is barely a problem considering their are warring families that want to take him out but also her family.
Oh these two just grabbed my heart because they weren’t looking for anything- especially from the enemy. I love Isabella since she’s this tough as nails character but also has vulnerabilities like everyone else. Mikhail is more the softie and surprisingly has more conscious than his predecessors.

I loved Izzy and Mikhail so much more than I thought I would. I'm surprised that the truth about the pregnancy came out so quickly and Mikhail accepted it, no questions asked. I do wish we got to see when Izzy tells her dad and uncles that she's pregnant because that would have been hilarious. My heart went out to both of them when she stabbed him in order to protect her baby. That moment when Mikhail tells her to let their child know that he wants it and loves it, ugh, it broke my heart. I do feel like we were robbed of the family fussing over Izzy while she was pregnant because that would have been so good. All the cameos and all the MMC's from the Kent universe were so good. Talk about cliff hanger - I'm so glad I'm reading it when it's a finished duet.

This book had a lot of potential. One night stand turned accidentally pregnancy with the enemy! Like the plot ate! But sadly the pacing and overall writing was off. Isabella and Mikhail had the potential to be written like star crossed lovers, but instead Izzy spent too much time denying her feeling, attempting to kill Mikhail, and keeping mad secrets. Mikhail on the other hand has always been upfront about what he wants and how he wants a family with her. But god forbid they acted in love for 5 freaking seconds. The feds being after her and then the IRA being after him it just was chaotic (not in a good way). Ivan betraying him was predictable and now we all just want to know where Isabella and Mabilia are.

The book contains trigger moments but it is done with Care if you have read the book so far, you would want to know what happens and the outcome.
Highly recommended reading loved the series books and definitely loved the characters , you meet the sass and independent woman Isabella Valentino in a man world is the deadly one and for a split second she tries to break free from all the rules and falls under the spell of Mikhall Pitrov the Russian a leader of the Pukan. How that meet goes as well as how the journey begins and risking their own lives along the way. Loved it A Mafia Romance Suspense,sizzling hot,Thrilling journey twists along the way.

3.5 Stars for this Accidental Pregnancy Dark Romance
This book may have its flaws, but it kept me glued to the pages with its suspenseful story. While this review is more critical than normal for me, it should be noted that I actually did enjoy the book and will be finishing the duet. Trigger warnings are listed at the end.
The Plot:
While the plot was interesting on many levels, it moved at an intensely fast pace, which in my opinion, worked against the story the author was trying to tell. It may have been because this book shares a universe with the author’s other work—and so any info from previous books could be carried over—but as someone who’s never read any of the author’s other books, I felt like I was missing a lot of the “why” behind everything.
The biggest example of this is the rivalry between the main characters’ families. Readers were told they’ve been fighting for years, but aside from a few off-handed “that’s the way it’s always been,” we got no other explanations or even examples of this rivalry despite how important it is to the story. I think the author’s previous books go into more detail, but as I’ve not read them (since this is marketed as it’s own story) I felt very in-the-dark a lot of the time. While I do think some of this was intentional by the author, there was too much missing for the plot to stay fully cohesive.
Basically, I had to check to make sure I didn’t drop in mid-series because I constantly felt like I was missing important information. As a spin-off/standalone duet to the shared universe the author created, readers should have all the info they need without having to read an entire backlog to fully understand what’s going on.
The Characters:
Unfortunately, because of the weak execution of the plot, I found the characters and the motives behind their actions lacking. I think if the author spent more time going into the reasons behind the feud, the enemies part of the story would’ve been more believable and would’ve made the MCs working through that more impactful. As it is now, readers know the MCs are enemies but don’t see it in action, making a lot of their early interactions and their reluctance to get together sort of pointless. Did they fight like enemies do? Yes. But readers were rarely given the reasons behind that besides a flippant “they’ve always been our enemies.” I do think this is another example of the author pulling from their previous work and not fully expanding on things for readers who are coming into this as a complete standalone story (which it is marketed as despite it relying heavily on the plot of past books.)
Having said that, I think the bond between the MCs was actually really nice and I liked reading about their push and pull relationship. The romance is easily the best part of this book, so it’s a shame the weak characterizations and choppy plot took away from the impact of the couple’s bond.
The Rest:
Aside from a few mistakes and a couple big continuity errors that slipped through the cracks (like the jump from six to eight months pregnant), this book flowed decently from point to point. It’s definitely a dark romance, so take the author’s note about triggering content seriously.
Despite my critical review, I did enjoy this book and will be finishing the duet to find out how the story ends.

I love a good enemies to lovers story and this one took it up a notch with the Romeo and Juliette vibes of an Italian falling in love with a Russian. This book was action packed and fast paced. It was a quick read simply because I couldn’t put it down.

They have a lot to work though, but their physical chemistry ignites something in both of them. They both fiercely fight for their daughter and each other.
I love a good enemies to lovers story and this one took it up a notch with the Romeo and Juliette vibes of an Italian falling in love with a Russian. This book was action packed and fast paced. It was a quick read simply because I couldn’t put it down.

their love and connection was described in a very beautiful way that I couldn't go through the world without reading about them
and I can say I wasn't disappointed

I couldn't shake the feeling that this book felt like it was written by a man, and not in a good way. From the very first page, the female main character, Izzy, came across as incredibly unlikable. Which is no small feat, if you ask me.
There’s something about the way she’s written that felt forced, as if the author didn’t quite understand her or didn’t take the time to really develop her character. It’s almost felt like they were projecting certain traits onto her, rather than grounding her in anything authentic.
I just… I couldn’t stand her.

I flew through this book. Izzy and Mikhail’s hate to love relationship is drama and emotion filled.
It was always going to have to be a very special man to hold the interest of Isabella Valentino, she’s not your typical mafia princess, she gets her hands dirty and is just as ruthless as her parents, uncle and cousins. Mikhail, Pakhan to the Russian mafia got a lot more than he bargained for when he had a one night stand with a woman he only knew as Jolene. Tracking her down to take back what she stole and kill her doesn’t quite go to plan as attraction takes control.
The couple are explosive, the story fast paced and a page turner but be warned you run out of pages and an action packed cliff hanger ending leaves you needing the second part of the duet.

I had only read a few of Kylie’s books until recently but had really enjoyed them. I have since demolished nearly all of them!
As with the others this book did not disappoint. I love the family as a whole and how they all link in together. It is always interesting to hear from past characters.
You just knew that Isabelle was going to be an amazing main character from seeing her as a child in her parents book.
I am glad that I didn’t have to wait for the second book though!

Some timeline issues (things got really confusing with the pregnancy/delivery timeline, for example), a few grammatical issues, but overall another fun read from Kylie Kent. I devoured both this and the 2nd book in one day. She writes close-knit family, sexy mafia stories and is might be the only author that writes "insta love" that doesn't drive me nuts (normally I just don't vibe with that trope).

I liked Izzy and Mikhail, they have more chemistry than the rest of the characters in this series (the books I've read).
Izzy is more badass than the girls before her and Mikhail is more like I'd expect a mafia (bratva) made man behave.
It could've had a bit more of building a relationship between them but at least they get to know each other a bit. The end felt a bit rushed so let's see if in the next one they can build the relationship some more

Honestly, this book was a letdown. The characters felt immature, and there wasn’t much depth to the story. The heroine annoyed me the entire time, and the hero was just… there,nothing special or memorable. On top of that, there were way too many side characters, which made everything feel cluttered. Overall, I don’t see the point of a sequel because I definitely won’t be continuing this series. Just not worth my time.

This is a hot, gritty, dark romance with lots of excitement as Izzy and Mikhail face up to consequences of their relationship, both families past vendetta, new enemies and lots of family. There are moments of very strong emotion where you want to cry for Izzy. Absolutely thoroughly enjoyed this and can’t wait for the concluding story in this duet.
