This is the 2nd of 5 in an on going series. It is longer than the first and gives a different view of the changes in our world. 5 stars? for myself this time? Nope, it improves on the series and gives a darker and more open idea for the future. But I can never claim my own work is perfect. I leave that up to you readers. I would love to know what you all think!
When I started this book, I was a little confused as to how it tied into Past Jumper. I had read that they were both books of a series, so I kept reading to see how they fit together. When the world started changing, I understood how they went together. I loved this book as much as the first one - maybe even a little better. I liked the few tie-ins that were located in this one that brought the books together as part of a series as well as adding a few new things. This was a great addition, and a great story on its own!
This book kept me guessing and the kept me wanting to read more. If a story has these things and entertains me it deserves 5 stars in my book!
*******SPOILERS BELOW HERE*********
I loved how Jane met Aiden during this book and found out what was going on a tad bit from him. I really loved how she started out trying to kill herself; yet, by the time she came to the world with the Zombies, she felt a strong desire to preserve her life. I liked how she found a way to stay safe in the end on the boat with the large water supply and the ability to fish to keep herself supplied with food as well. It still left me wanting to know more though with the series as a whole. I would like to know how her story wraps up too as much as I am curious about Aiden's story.
I am enjoying the story enough to continue, but the incomplete sentences, missing and incorrect words are distracting. This desperately needs editing as does the first book.
This second installment of the Heppner's Jumper series is far more enigmatic than Past Jumper, and leaves me wanting more. If it had been written as a stand-alone piece, it would end there, but Heppner has made the bold move of promising more, and that guarantees I will be acquiring the next segment of his larger story soon.
Good book. I enjoyed seeing the different worlds that had been mentioned in the first book. Liked the clever way the book was tied to the series by the scene with the car theft. Would have liked to see more of the original character but I have to admit I enjoyed this character also. At least until she started whining.
