About the author

Sharilyn spent most of her early years on the Grand Strand of SC annoying local police officers and pretty much every one else. She graduated from the University of South Carolina and now lives on a small farm outside of Morgantown, WV with various farm animals, her husband, and three kids who love to annoy her. (Karma is a bitch.) She writes the Healer Series and has published articles for major magazines, newspapers, and anthologies. sorry some things are unforgivable

I loved Trinity…until around halfway through the book. She’s a mafia enforcer, an assassin and all around bada&$! She was super awesome! Now why would the author give her three COMPLETE LOSERS as her harem guys?? They were all best friends but then became more and started a relationship. Trinity and her guys .

There are a lot of second chance romances I can deal with, but when the men in the harem do something unforgivable AND the awesome bada$& assassin caved and FORGIVES THEM and then bam it’s like it never happened because ohhh yeah the dumba&& guys realize they actually love her and want her back? WTF?!!! They were all in a committed relationship and then they stepped out on her, while they were still together sharing her bed and SLEPT with everything in a skirt and all the freaking girls on campus!! Are you kidding me?! They’re excuse was ridiculous…they knew they were fated to be with Trinity but wanted to know what it would be like to NOT share a girl, a girl they admittedly loved! You don’t love someone and then go sleep around, like majorly sleep around and then LIE TO HER, thinking she’d never find out!!! The worst part, as if the multiple times they cheated on her wasn’t enough. This hard, kicka&& woman finally tells them off, kicks them to the curb, but one year later, being “forced” to work with them, let’s them right back into her life. Frankly she NEVER dolled out the punishment they deserved, and I am livid that she took them back. What they did was Soooooooo Scummy that I was actually rooting for the “bad guy” to end up with her!! I am absolutely enraged that the author could write a reverse harem where the men are lying cheating heinous disgusting individuals. And how in the world would I want to read another one of these books since I’ve lost all respect in the FMC and absolutely ABHOR her guys? This book isn’t about a strong mafia enforcer and female triad leader…it’s about seeing her lose all dignity and respect when she takes back the a-holes that broke her already broken heart, forgives them and says they can start “afresh”. Yeah, uhmmmm nope sorry. This reverse harem left a terrible taste in my mouth. If you like second chance romances where the supposed dark and deadly female triad enforcer gets totally knocked down by ending up kow-towing and just giving it back up to her lousy cheating (like we’re talking serial cheating , not just once, but dozens upon dozens of times while they were WITH HER) then be my guest and read The Widowmaker. If you have any self-respect for females I’d strongly suggest you back out on this read. Like I said…nothing nothing nothing redeemable about the males, and a horrible, toxic, “makeup” which just paints the FMC as a total idiot!

Spoiler Alert

A CLIFFHANGER???? Really??? Why?? And winter 2024, too? The story was flowing so well. The Widow maker and her f*ckboys just getting back together after a year of their screwups and the Enforcer taking care of business in several major playing cities. Trinity was literally picking up speed in the Cougar. Then second guessing her choices as she drove into bigger and harder lethal problems. I knew! I just knew there were not enough pages left in the book. I was hoping that the ending was not rushed and sloppy. I was hoping that the ending was not a cliffhanger. Looks like this Almost Heaven, WV girl wasn't going to be satisfied with a not perfect ending either way. Thanks Sharilyn for the ride. I'll meet back up with the Widowmaker and the Triad heirs/the Triplets in early 2024. OMG.

This is the first book I have read by this author, but it won’t be the last. The story starts a year after, Trinity (aka the Widowmaker, aka the enforcer for the Triad) broke up with Donavan, Kaiden and Torin after finding out they had cheated on her. Trinity is a fierce, self-proclaimed soulless, bad@ss FMC. She cut the guys off, but because they are the other heirs of the Triad, they remain alive. The guys realize they messed up and are willing to do anything to make it up to her. While Trinity claims to have no soul, we still see hints of a soul and I liked how the guys each brought a different dynamic. The ending is a cliffy, but thankfully book 2 is out tomorrow :)
