"Describes what different kinds of trees need to survive and explains that plants, animals and even humans need trees to survive. As readers use scientific inquiry to learn about what makes each kind of tree unique, an activity based on real world situations challenges them to apply what they've learned in order to solve a puzzle"--Provided by publisher.
What seemed like a fairly straightforward nonfiction book about tress ended up being quite interesting to my son. The book has kids choose one of three trees where they'd like to build a treehouse, and then the subsequent pages teaches them things about limbs, leaves, age, size, etc. and ties it back to helping kids think about which attributes they'd like to have if they had a tree house. My son kept talking about tree houses all week!
