Rebecca Brown (born Ruth Irene Bailey, legally changed in April, 1986) is a controversial Christian author and former doctor best known for her claims of having helped people escape the occult.

In 1984, Brown's medical license was revoked by the issuing state of Indiana. The licensing board ruled that on numerous occasions she had "knowingly and intentionally misdiagnosed her patients", blaming their illnesses on demonic possession. A board-appointed psychiatrist diagnosed her as suffering from "acute personality disorders including demonic delusions and/or paranoid schizophrenia" and observed her injecting herself with unknown substances. The board also found that she had over-medicated her patients and administered improper treatments, as well as failed to properly document their treatment.

The 1984 medical board findings from the state of Indiana identified Elaine as Edna Elaine Moses (aka Elaine Moses, aka Elaine Bailey), one of Brown's patients, and charged that Brown had misdiagnosed her with leukemia and erroneously "treated" her with large doses of Demerol and Phenobarbital. Elaine had to be hospitalized for detoxification of the controlled substances Brown had given her.

After losing her medical license, Bailey adopted the name "Dr. Rebecca Brown". Brown and Elaine Moses (now roommate) began telling people of how Moses was a former high priestess of a Satanic cult and bride of Satan, and how "Dr. Brown" had saved her from a hospital riddled with Satanic cult members who had infiltrated it.

Also among the two women's claims were that Yoga is Satanic, Roman Catholicism is Witchcraft, and that Dungeons & Dragons and other role-playing games are Satanic.

Brown married "Rev." Daniel Michael Yoder (legal name William Joseph Stewart) on December 10, 1989 and created a Christian group called Harvest Warriors with her husband.

I had my own experiences with people who worship satan and I know that the devil is a Liar. I have read Dr. Brown's book and everything people have to say to discredit her. I am not a pentecostal. I am a seven-day advantist, and I can see that that her view might sound outragious but pentecostal churches teaches those same views. I find her to be credible because I know that satan will do anything to keep the truth from coming out. The devil is real and through the grace of Jesus Christ I found victory just like Dr. Rebecca Brown. God Bless you on your Journey. This boook is one Victory for us all who truly believe in God. All glory is to God. If I tell people what I have been through, they will think I am crazy. The reality is when your next door neighbor or friend happen to be practicing witchcraft without your knowledge strange things begin to happen to you that you can't explain. Until you can grasp your reality, and call on the name Jesus Christ, you might find yourself on the bottom of the abyss. Some people may not even realize it's happening or who is doing evil things to them until it's too late. IF you are always serving God and denouncing satan you don't have to know who is doing it. Jesus Christ will deliver you. But you must be careful who you deal with on the daily basis. Word of caution do not eat from people you know, because that is the quickest way your enemy can get you. God Bless.

Amazing! Honestly I do not know why people criticize Dr. Rebecca Brown and her books so harshly. This book has been life-changing for me and I have applied some of the tools I have learned in this book. The results were instant and unbelievable, so much so that my wife has agreed to read this book immediately after her exams.

If you are involved in Deliverance and Spiritual Warfare as a minister or you even want to deal with things in your own life that you have long suspected have spiritual causes, the tools you need are in this book.

Thank you Dr. Brown for sharing your experiences in this book. You have been such as huge blessing to me.

More utter hokum from the schizophrenic Doctor Ruth (her real name) and her bed-mate, divorced borderline personality pathological liar Elaine Moses.

This time the psychotically broken disbarred MD attacks physical stretching (yoga), Vegetarianism, the Christian church of Christianity's first 1500 years (probably on orders from Jack Chick), and Presbyterian churches as all tools of Satan.

That's right, tools of Satan.

Brown has been suitably debunked online (Google her name), and for good reason. She now runs a less-kooky sounding ministry and lives on a working farm in Arkansas (I believe); I wish her no harm whatsoever, but she'd promised us and Chick that she was going to be sacrificed to Satanists. What's a prophet who's prophecies don't come true?

Think LONG and hard about a person who's "testimony" cannot be proven or substantiated in any way. Either there really is the conspiracy only she describes, or "Dr." Rebecca Brown has lied to us all. Whether due to deliberate mischief or schizophrenia, only she and the Lord can say. But he has not been served in this horrific sequel.

This is intense...from the subject matter to Brown's overriding tone. Some of what she writes about I fully agree with, some has me thinking and some I think is, off or maybe over the top. I love that Brown constantly urges the reader to pursue all of this stuff fir themselves and to spend time with Jesus and to learn to hear and follow the voice of Holy Spirit. It's just...really, really intense.

This one expands on her first, He came to set the captives free book, of All the various cults and how they operate and how to rid yourself of any evil that has come into your life through anyway possible, even by touch. A must read for anyone who wants to cleanse themselves from all evils that have damaged their lives. Once cleansed, you need to become born again to keep it from Ever happening to you again.

Book reads like a fiction book but Rebecca Brown testifies that everything in the book is true. This book is about spiritual warfare and how you can win the war.

Hysteria

Now I feel like I have more understanding of why my mom growing up was so afraid of demons. The author makes assertions that cannot be demonstrated and there is nothing but anecdotal stories throughout the text. Mistrust and paranoia is a theme in this book and some stories are just plain weird. Some stories sound like criminal charges should have been pursued instead of trying to solve problems in the church setting only. Eye-opening and I'm sad that there are some that subscribe to the notion of supernatural demon possession that happens as a result of "premarital sex", rock music, or even yoga poses.

ITS OBVIOUS THE NATURAL MAN WILL FIND THIS BOOK FOOLISHNESS, BUT IN FACT ITS LIGHT SHINING IN THE DARKNESS. THAT'S WHY REBECCA BROWN IS HARSHLY CRITICIZED AND ITS TO HER GLORY BECAUSE IN FACT NOT MANY ARE EVEN ABLE TO STAND THE WILES OF THE DEVIL, LET ALONE A STRONG SPIRITUAL CONFRONTATION!

Let's just start up the witch hunts again, why don't we? Shall we hang or burn the witches?
If you are seriously viewing this book for potential purchase please consider buying, "demon-haunted world" by Carl Sagan or "faith vs faith" by Jerry Coyne. End the superstition. Reality is better than living in fear.

I read a criticism of this work in Carl Sagan's The Demon-Haunted World, and browsed through it in a bookstore thinking it would be hilarious to make fun of. I do not remember much, except that there was not much in that book that actually popped out for me.

After reading the first book (He came to set the captives free) I was excited and nervous to read this one. Again I do not agree with everything Rebecca Brown has to say, but this was a great read and very intense!!

This book was formative in my spiritual development. I no longer have a copy on my shelf at home because of the defiling imagery, but it is an incredibly eye opening book. What she says is true.

Excelente libro.

Inspiring

Every Christian should read if you serious about growing deeper in God and knowing how to war against the enemy. It is not the Bible and I highly recommend you read the Word as well to make sure it lines up as well (which it does). But let every man work out his salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12)

Amazing book, I'm giving it four stars based on the fact that Dr. Brown repeats a lot of what was in He Came to Set the Captives Free. Which, I believe is all very important, but, there is new material covered in this sequel. Definitely worth reading if you read HCTSTCF.

My first read was in 1996, and now I have read it again in 2015. Dr Brown has taught me many lessons through her pages. I highly recommend this book for those dissatisfied souls searching more of God......
