Though I can find all of this information on an app through my phone, it's been nice to have a hard copy. I've explored so much and yet it doesn't make much of a dent in the 495,000 acres set aside as Chugach National Forest. Loved learning that Chugach State Park is a result of grassroots efforts to fight a proposed timber sale in 1969.. The committee was led by 19-year-old Sharon Cissna. I'm particularly inspired in light of today's capitalist oligarchy proposing to sell public lands off to the highest bidders.
