Skylark by Patricia MacLachlan, is wrote in first person point of view because Anna is telling the story. They were having a drought which means water shortage. The first fire was small and Papa and Sarah put it out quickly. But the second fire was bigger and they used all water they had but still it would not go away so it burnt down the barn but thankfully the animals got out. So Sarah took the kids to Maine to stay with the Aunts and Papa stayed home with all the animals. At first they all loved Maine but after a while they started missing Papa, the animals, and home a lot. Then one day when everyone was walking on the beach when they saw Papa on the hill they ran and hugged and cried. He was so excited to say it had rained and Seal the cat had four baby's. And also Sarah is having a baby in the spring which made me exited. I rate this book four stars because it was interesting and a little sad. I recommend this book to anyone who likes old and a little sad books.
