Right from the day your child is born, you can set the stage for a lifetime of learning. Start developing your kid's amazing brain with techniques for strengthening baby's senses, building vocabulary, increasing interaction, stimulating movement, and exposing him/her to new experiences. All the things that concern parents are here and covered in depth--from suggestions on visual stimuli to ideas for "smart food." These great guidelines go in from birth to six weeks, six weeks to six months, six months to a year, a year to 18 months, from 18th months on, and the third year--when children take a big leap forward!
I think this is a good basic book to start with if you are looking for ways to enhance your children's physical and emotional development. They have some neat ideas in here as far as games and activities to enhance their vocabulary and to just be more fun, but there was nothing that struck me as, "WOW!!!" I did copy a few of the crafts and games for the older kids down, I had seen them elsewhere, but was reminded of them. It's an average book, very colorful though, if you like lots of bright photos. 3 out of 5.
