Delta Force: Team Lynx #4

Absolution's Assassin

Rate this book
It's just friends with benefits… it’s a one-night stand… it’s a nobody will ever know… until they do. When battle lines are drawn and war comes calling for them at home… can Team Lynx survive the fallout, or will this mission be the one which ends them all? Since leaving the Military, Sage Razlaff, has made it his mission to continue the fight and make the world a safer place for all with a computer as his weapon of choice. He hadn’t quite counted on how hard it would be to be the man calling the shots on Team Lynx’s Ops from the relative safety of their tactical operations center. But his past can never find him here… right? There’s VPNs, weapons, and a whole host of teammates to keep the wall strong and the tangos on the opposite side… even if the wall they are protecting is the one surrounding his heart. Former FBI and current Team Lynx sniper, Connor Nash has a reputation for trouble which follows him around like a stench he can’t get rid of. Risk-taker. Brazen. Bold. The list is endless. As far as he is concerned, rules are suggestions and not written in stone. They are… right? Wrong… when the proverbial manure hits the fan and a mission coming down the chain of command bypasses his commander and his team, Connor has to figure out not only where the lines are, but who’s on which side of right and wrong. The second those lines blur around the team’s comms tech, all bets are off. He’ll do this job as ordered, but his compliance has a price… Sage’s freedom.

Annabella Stone and Bella Stone are the alter egos of a wife and mom, who was lucky enough to find happy ever after with her own personal hero.

Annabella loves to write Military Romance and Romantic Suspense where warriors love harder when bullets fly. She believes in love at first sight and wants everyone to have the happy ever they deserve. Even if they have to dodge bullets and fight with everything that they are to get it.

Born and raised in Ireland, Annabella has a Grá for a good story and the breakfast blaa, but funnily enough, prefers Jack Daniels to Irish whiskey. Having lived across 7 countries and 3 continents over the last thirty years, she loves to explore new places and cultures. In her world, coffee is king, and she is 100% sure it deserves it's own food group.

Annabella is owned by a pack of malamutes, whom she loves to both work and show. If you can't find her at the computer writing, chances are she and her woofers have escaped to enjoy at day at a dog show, or they are on a mountain trail with the dryland rig or the sled, depending on the time of year.

Annabella's motto is "Live life like a malamute who found the gate open, but take the time to enjoy the sights while you're running."

Delta Force Team Lynx was the first series I read by Bella and what made me fall in love with her writing and her characters. Since finishing book 3 I have been dying to find out what happens between Connor and Sage! This one picks right up where Temptations Tango ended with moving Rafe and Parker to Florida and naturally in true black ops fashion moving is anything but simple , everything goes to hell in a hand basket. If you’re a fan of Bella’s work and have read the rest of her MM series you will have an even greater love for this one. She knocked it out of the park and I can’t wait to see what comes up with next!

Sage felt he had to always keep his attraction hidden, it had been beaten into him from a young age that sex with men was wrong. Now he is torn because even though he really wants this relationship both his former life and military career have meant hide it, be silent. Con has other issues to do with his past career, that is threatening everything for him and the team. Both guys are strong but vulnerable, one can't talk because of rules and the other because of how he grew up, both broke my heart at times during reading this. Both came through for the other, proving them important and worthy, standing up for and by the side of. There were several elements twisted into this story which gave emotion, suspense and action which I absolutely loved. How the Team have each other's backs, they tease to show their love and to help ground the in trouble but always have their backs. Team is family and sometimes it's more than one or two teams but still Family. And the ending was super, pulling everyone together and coming home. Fantastic characters and an interesting awesome plot that was intense and exciting, powerful, suspenseful and really showed what the team was about. It gripped and definitely gave me my escape into another world and characters I'd love to know. It was steamy hot but also very moving and sensitive. It had every single element that I adore and gave me complete fulfilment in reading. Congratulations to the author.

Sage’s and Connor’s story was worth the wait. After reading book 3 I have been diying to find out what happened to these two! As soon as I got this book I devoured it in a couple of hours and I will be re-reading it at a slower pace now in order to enjoy it even more. It is a story that reminds us that somehow in this messed world you can manage to find the one made just for you, even if you have to be tortured with opera singing. I just love the way the rest of Team Lynx and the other side characters help build Sage’s and Connor’s story. I love the way Annabella Stone keeps it real in a world of fiction. It is a story about friendship, the real kind, and as Castello said in the book and I quote here, “A true friend is the one who sees the pain in your eyes while everyone else believes the smile on your face.” A book written with a great sense of humor, respect, banter, friends who became family, a strong team together, so many emotions and a shocking ending at first...
I highly recommend this book and in my personal opinion I would suggest you read not only the three previous books of Delta Force Team Lynx but go back to where it all started if Annabella is a new author to you. Thank you Bella for another beautifully written story!

Annabella Stone really yanks on your emotions in Absolution's Assassin. You'll feel happy, sad, resigned and anxious. You will laugh out loud at the antics and humor. You'll get the warm fuzzies at the depth of caring, friendships and willingness to sacrifice oneself in order to ptotect a loved one. You'll sit anxiously at the edge of your seat while awaiting the hoped for outcome. And, finally you'll feel melancholy when you discover Team Lynx's fate. I just don't know how it can get much better.

Connor and Sage will make your head spin at the lengths they'll go to trying to ignore their feelings for one another. A visit to Sage's past proves to be fraught with landmines and perhaps end with him in prison. Connor makes a deal with the devil to avert that. Afterwards, when Connor takes off without warning, Sage's gut instincts start pinging. It takes a team effort, lead by Sage and Kalon, to figure out what he's up to and then put into motion a mission to protect Connor while taking down the target. When it becomes apparent that Coonor's career is on the line, the team makes the a sacrifice in solidarity for one of their own. Sage and Connor get an HEA that will warm your heart at the end.

I love Annabella Stone stories so much and of course loved the latest one. Sage's story was heartbreaking and I was a nervous wreck until he was able to leave the jail and leave his horrible family behind. Connor was making me crazy because you knew he was being manipulated and I so glad that they were able to learn the truth including the truth about Jeannette Colgan's death. Not sure I would like being in Mongolia but the night skies sounded so beautiful. I need more stories about these men and women in her world.

I just can't. Y'all, this book. AMAZING. Sage and Connor were a curveball I didn't see coming until the very end of Rafe, Parker and Balas' story. This team/family has had some major drama, major love, and major curveballs. This story threw us off the deep end from the very start, right into the feels. ARGH it is so hard to describe this without giving away spoilers! But PLEASE read this, and all of Team Lynx. I love how Bella's world all intertwines and you get to see more into the lives of all the teams in each book. It's a world I would love to live in. Even if there is glitter.

Rules are made to be broken - right? When Sage finds himself in the middle of a one night stand with Connor that he wants to never really end, things with Delta Force Team Lynx might never be the same. But once again Annabella Stone gives the reader exactly what they need: Hot alpha men, a storyline that latches on to them from the beginning chapter, the perfect balance of danger and affection and that ending - is is really an end?? Perfection with each and every written word on the page.

Team Lynx

Family is family they don’t have to be blood. Sage and Connor have circled around each other until they are faced with their reality. Their team closes ranks with them and the past that they thought been resolved comes back. Love this book and all the books before that makes up this series. Love getting glimpses of people from the other books that makes this world so cool!

Loved the series

Not sure if this was the end of the series, but these guys are definitely not going anywhere. Conner and Sage tried for no strings attached, but clearly that didn't happen, and feelings were caught. Conner thought he was protecting Sage when he made a deal that would work out for everyone. Little did he know that he was being caught up in something that he should not have. As always, there is suspense, some action, and a whole lot of loving.

Only one thing would have made this better

If only I had taken the time to re-read all that came before! I knew all the stories are connected. Based on the blurb. I just thought this one was going to be more standalone. Now I get to grab the reading order list and circle through everything again.

Another 10/10. I have absolutely adored each and every book by this author and this one is no exception. I have no words to accurately describe how much I enjoyed this book. Do yourself a favor; make your favorite beverage, grab some snacks, and sit down and devour this book in one sitting. It’s 100% worth it.

Great Ending

Sad to see Team Lynx retire but understand it was their time. I have a feeling we will still see them and we also have to know what happens with Conner so I am assuming he shows up in another series or something. Love that Sage and Connor finally chose each other. Can’t wait to see what happens in the future.

Absolution Assassin

I have read all of her books in this series and the other ones as well. I have enjoyed reading them. The ending of this book was a little sad. I am hoping for a Sawyer book to finish it all off. I would so recommend reading this book if you have read all of the previous books.

Nice story.

I enjoyed these two story. Though it rough when you read the last book of the series a while ago to follow all the characters. I can't remember what was taken place between these two from prior books so I just kind of went along with the story. I did recognize several of the other characters but these two I can't really remember.

Really enjoyable

This was an excellent book, centered around Conner and Sage. They have a slightly complicated relationship but great chemistry. I've always enjoyed how the author lays out the relationship of the team as well, and this was no exception.

While Sage and Con get their act together a lot of closure happens for the team. There are many possible spoilers but I have to say that this is a satisfying wrap up for the team. Fantastic!

Loved it

As usual Annabelle Stone has delivered a fast paced and entertaining read. Sage and Connor take turns to f**k up and have the team bale them out all the while whilst doubting the other’s commitment. A great read made all the better by my favourite operative Balas playing his role.

Exciting

Sage and Connor. Teammates and more. On a trip driving Rafe and Parkers possessions to their home in Florida, an unexpected challenge comes up that lands Sage in jail. As Team Lynx comes to the rescue a whole new can of worms is opened that may break the team apart.
