This is a fun little book of short stories about two menehune that live in the rainforests of Hawaii. The book is rather long, but it has several stories, so a beginning reader can read just a little at a time. The illustrations are cute and the stories are entertaining. I found this at a fundraiser for my work; it was on a table of books for sale and it made me smile to think of Hawaii.

One does not sail a canoe. A canoe has no sail. The two-page spread of the many rainbows is a big letdown - looks like only oranges and greens were used. The Hawaiian topic is fine, but this is not one of the best I Can Read books.
