So good that I decided to write a thesis about it. This book is delightful for its hippy politics and its hedonism. It's a how-to book that refuses to prescribe anything to the reader and instead supplies us with the greatest poetic, pictorial, and confessional ode to skiing ever printed. Also there's a chapter of igloo erotica - subversive AND sexy. Please, if you share with me a love for the side of skiing that has nothing to do with World Cups or Olympics, find this book. It will rejuvenate you.

There is no genre for this type of book. Just a few pages in and it has transformed the way my cabin-mates interact with their environment. Tonight after K read a few passages aloud half the people present wrapped their feet in saran wrap and ran into the snow. And I sense that this is just the beginning. There are so many utterly quotable passages, I'll copy a few highlights here later.
