"A new collection of unusually intimate poems by the highly acclaimed poet Frieda Hughes, daughter of Sylvia Plath and Ted Hughes." In this new collection, Hughes writes about her childhood and adolescence, about the wildlife that is part of her life, about her relationships, her fears and desires, and about a set of invented characters whose behavior reflects back to us our own least admirable qualities. Stonepicker and The Book of Mirrors illuminates and explores the human experience - the joy, trauma, loss, and love that make us what we are.
Frieda Hughes is an English poet and painter who has spent much of her life in Australia. She has published seven children's books and four poetry collections. She is the daughter of the poets Sylvia Plath and Ted Hughes.
To say I'm a fan of Frieda Hughes would be an understatement. I only recently discovered her, but I have been devouring her words a lot lately, and I'm just thrilled to know of her work now. This is an exceptional collection of poetry, and I cannot wait to read the rest of her books.
