This is an incredibly important book for those rebels, activists and participants in the political spectrum (at whatever level) who didn't have the privilege to study politics in depth.

It is soon evident from reading this book that the concept of 'anarchy' as a force for evil, that champions only chaos, malevolence & violence, is first and foremost in itself a highly biased work of propaganda by those in authority to try and pre-empt any efforts to remove them from their lofty pedastals.

Far from being a force for wanton destruction and chaos, this book, through not only it's superb introduction but the myriad of quotes from prominent anarchists, has taught me that anarchy is in itself so much more than how it is portrayed through the media.
Through this book I learned that anarchy and revolution are far from synonymous; the latter seeking to overthrow authority and replace it with selected or elected officials, the former seeking to overthrow authority altogether and leave self-determination to the individual.

I was remarkably surprised, even as a 'liberal with an agenda' myself, at just how much of the quotes and sage points of wisdom I agreed with.
Far from reading like a collection of disjointed and unrelated quotes, the book actually reads like an inter-linked collection of thoughts, wisdom and incitements to action.

It introduced me to at least a couple of inspirational figures I intend to not only research more on but to read their published work too, such as Michael Bakunin and Emma Goldman.

In short, this book is essential for anyone who has an active interest in politics, especially those on the centre-left and left-er parts of the spectrum.

Anarchy is not chaos, it is liberation of the self.

Favorite quote is from Michael Schwab, accused but acquitted of the Haymarket bombing: Anarchy is a state of society where the only authority is reason.
