Luc (nobleman turned during the French Revolution), depressed (though no longer crazed with needing vengeance since demon is destroyed) and considering ending it, has hung around Jude and Terri for some normalcy, and he rescues a young woman who fought hard but is barely alive from an attack from 4 vampires - dispatching one that returned to finish her off; he takes her to Jude's to decide what to do...

Lucinda Makar if a werewolf, that cannot shift... and has decided to leave her pack (where she was well loved, but didn't quite fit in) for the human world... she starts to heal in Jude's office (as they were sure she was about to die) because of her were genes... she had been raised to fear and hate vampires... but learns that some are self controlled...

Rogue Vampires are out to attack Jude and his standards for the vampires in his city... by indiscriminate killings and turning of new vamps that will be lead to chaos... and Luc and Lucinda decide to help take care of it...

and Luc finds that he is interested in life again... he tries to warn Lucinda off, but both give into their passion... and he finds a new lease on life... and Lucinda calls in her alpha mother to give assistance - asking them to adjust to their thinking to accept some vampires... they help (mostly by identifying dead bodies to be collected by the Terri and the coroners office for brain removal) and to fight a gang at the end... but the 'unpack' Lucinda, though tell her they love her, as Lucinda finds full acceptance and love in Luc's arms - where he claims her!!!

This book was good. Luc St. Just lost his mate and only the need for vengeance keeps him going. Dani Makar is a werewolf who can't shape-shift. She felt like an outsider in her own pack so she left her pack to make her way to lead a "Normal" life. She ends up getting viciously attacked by some rogue vampires and Luc just happens to be in the area and saves her life. She finds herself in the middle of a war between the good vampires and the rogues. Doesn't know who to trust. There was a lot of passion between the two of them, but for some reason, it just fell flat. There could have been a lot more to the story but it just wasn't there. I will be reading more from Rachel Lee as she is a great writer.

In Lee’s paranormal romance novel, Luc St. Just’s heart beat only for vengeance since the death of his claimed mate. When a mysterious woman is brutally attacked by rogue vampires, all of his protective instincts surface along with his will to live.

Dani Makar is a werewolf who can’t shape shift and this anomaly forces her to seek a life outside the pack. But when a vampire named Luc risks his “life” to save hers, Dani is torn between two worlds, one she believes in the other one filled with desire.

The vampire and the werewolf, sworn enemies, are inexplicably drawn to each other but an evil lurking in the shadows is determined to see them both dead.

Not bad, added lycans to the vampires in the world of the first two books. I liked Luc and Dani, they had good chemistry - but little development other than Dani getting over her pack's distrust and dislike of vampires and Luc deciding he could take a chance on another mating after his last one ended badly and he almost died.

Started reading this, but it is just so very cliche I can't continue. (She was as light as eiderdown? ---it's stills cliche if you just change the word but it means the same thing).
