Being in the wrong place at the wrong time can be deadly… The lethal explosion that nearly cost hundreds of innocent people their lives and landed K in the hospital taught her two important lessons.
One, the operation continuing Quentin’s legacy runs deeply
And two; she is not as invincible as she thought.
Now, the only person who could tell K or the authorities anything was dead.
And they were back to zero.
As K recuperates from her injuries, Lisa secretly continues the investigation.
Trying to keep from the doctors how K’s body is healing so fast while keeping her own dark secrets from her friend is a dangerous line to walk…
But when she finds Jeremy in the last place she thought he’d ever be, Lisa realizes that a crucial meeting is about to take place in Seattle-Tacoma International.
A meeting no one like Lisa was ever supposed to see.
Why did Jeremy lie? And how long do they have until the second life he leads ruins everything they’ve tried to build so far?
Her secrets and her silence might cost her the best friend she ever had. But her trust in Jeremy, the man she thought she knew and loved, might cost her even more.
As the storm clouds of doubt and suspicion gather, Lisa and K know something terrible is coming for them. But what?

William Baker lives on the West Coast with his wife, son, and their two cats, Tiger and Panther. An avid reader across genres, he gravitates toward mystery and thrillers. Writing from childhood onward, he later trained as an economist, but storytelling endured, eventually drawing him back to writing for good.
Devil's Dolls Series: A book broken into pieces, each a cliffhanger, each quickly read since part is about six chapters. Interesting story lines with gore and action, but simplistic in nature. Entertaining no-brainer with no vulgar language and some silly dialog. K is likeable. The Devil's Origin, prequel pt. 1 - Interesting introduction about K's start. 4* Vengeance in Black, prequel pt. 2 - How K meets Lisa. 3* The Devil's Dollmaker #1 - Interesting but reminds me of a Horror movie I saw in the late Sixties, but much worse. Gory but not graphic to extremes, just enough for visualization. 4* The Silent Watcher #2 - Good vengeance, simplistic but effective. Intriguing side story fully in the works. 4* Trail of Blood #3 - Goodness, the amount of depravity that exists in this section. 4* The Devil's Tale #4 - Good mix of Cozy and simplistic rushing to finish this section. 3* The Devil's Reckoning, #5 - I did not care for this installment. The fight scene, and the previous scene, and the dialog between K and her opponent was boring, unbelievable, actually silly. Will admit the secret at the end of the installment was worth reading this bit. 3* The Devil's Blood, #6 - This segment is an improvement from Reckoning. Good action and mind games. 4* Bad Blood, #7 - New lives. The writing style did not hold my interest. Good story line, though. 3* Touched By Death, #8 - This is as far as I go. The average writing style, the lack of editing, and sometimes the dialogues cannot keep my interest anymore. 3* Devil's Dolls Series end.
Like all the other books in the Devil’s Dolls Series, Touched By Death is a cliffhanger. Unlike the other books in the series, at least the ones that I have read, there is very little physical action. It opens with “K” in the hospital, recovering from the bomb explosion that nearly killed her, hence the title, Touched By Death. This episode is mostly talking with very little physical activity. There isn’t any on-screen action to get the adrenaline pumping until the very end when.... Well, go read this exciting installment to find out just what happened at the end that will have you champing at the bit for Book 9 in this explosive series by William Baker.
As K recovers from her injuries Lisa secretly continues to investigate. Trying to keep the doctor from learning how K's body is able to heal so fast and while keeping her dark secrets from her friend had become dangerous. Lisa finds Jeremy in the last place she thought he would be. But Jeremy is playing a double game and her trust in him is costing her friendship with her only friend she had. As suspicion mounts Lisa and K know that something terrible was coming their way. A chilling read. I received this book free and leave a honest review. I recommend this book to other readers.
K is in the hospital after a bomb explosion at the airport where she works as security. She needs to see the security footage of the airport at the time of the explosion. Lisa goes to the airport to try to get a copy of the security tape. She sees Jeremey in a suit picking up a person coming in on a flight. He is acting very strangely. Very enjoyable series.
William Baker presents another stellar installment in the Devil's Dolls series. Touched by Death continues the adventures of K and her companions. Relegated to a hospital bed by an explosion she uses her "assets" in trying to solve the mystery of what is behind the bomb that injured her. An enthralling read, short read. I can't wait for Book 9!
This is book eight of nine in The Devil's Doll series. I have not read all the books in order. which makes it confusing. K is in the hospital recovering from a bomb explosion. Lisa is still investigating, and Jeremy is lying. What could happen next?
Allow three hours for this fast-paced PG paranormal undercover procedural episode that will make MUCH more sense if you read the earlier books first. I had an ARC via Bookfunnel and this is my voluntary review.
The story continues with K being hospitalized after bomb went off. The women need to watch their back with Jeremy. He's gotten to be really sketchy lately. Ok I'm going to stop so I don't give it away. This is a great series.
K is almost killed in a bomb blast at her work place.and Lisa looks after her in the hospital. K and Lisa find out that Jeremy is behaving oddly. What is he hiding and why the Jekyll and Hyde persona? Intriguing story line with a twist.
I think you need to read the first book first, this was hard to follow But it made you want to continue to read and I did. K, Emma and Jeramy what are you into. Keep reading and you’ll find out.
