Golden Age Crime fiction. My Gollancz 1936 hardback edition is enhanced with endpaper maps of Galloway.
I re-read it, after 50+ years, having heard a BBC Radio 4 dramatisation with Ian Carmichael as Lord Peter.
Overly long perhaps not enhanced by totally irritating speech written in "dialect" format!
