Web in the Sea: Jung, Sophia, and the Geometry of the Soul

Rate this book
With the mediating help of Sophia, the divine feminine principle of wisdom, we can decode the inner meaning of geometric shapes, numbers, and other symbols through intuition, to enrich our experience of living and deepen our appreciation of the mystery of form. Life has come out of the sea, and as it did so millions of years ago, it emerged in tiny forms of exquisite design. The geometric web by which creation lifted life into being was preexistent. Its counterpart lies in the seas of our own personal and collective unconscious, as Carl Gustav Jung pointed out. Through awareness we can discover preexisting patterns that can show us meaningful order in the chaos we experience at times in the world, and in our personal lives. A companion to Dove in the Stone , the book is illustrated with fifty line drawings and figures and includes an entertaining workbook-- "Sophia's Mondayschool" -- with exercises that guide readers in exploring for themselves the mysteries of sacred geometry.

What a gentle but intensive read that opens a lot of doors and windows to the soul and thought. Holy wisdom, known as Sophia—the Holy Spirit—is hidden in our world of form, design, and the human soul. Howell, a Jungian psychologist, writes that everything we experience is a teaching event. Everything has an outer and an inner meaning. Here is a book about the Divine Guest. Enchanting and intelligent. Within these pages are multiple opportunities for soul work to explore the sacred patterns in our physical world and within ourselves. The bright light is on the power of opposites, the power of threes and nines, circles and triangles and squares and cubes (lots of drawings too), The Golden Rectangle, sixes and sevens. What is the hidden meaning of your life? That answer will become clear in the process of living an alert and mindful life. Howell invites the reader to come into the circle of wisdom and discover your own secrets. The divine feminine principle of wisdom is presented with clarity and beauty, focusing on the psychological meanings. The wisdom of Sophia is here to guide us and enrich us. This book is a deep, deep cleansing breath. I loved it!
