Every Bit a Cowboy is book five in the Creedence Horse Rescue series by Jennie Marts. After reading the previous book, Never Enough Cowboy, and meeting Jennie and her sister, Carley, I have been so excited to read Carley’s book. Prepare yourself for all sorts of adorable barn yard animals, a very swoony cowboy and a woman who is just figuring out her strength and her worth.

Carley Chapman runs her own successful beauty parlor, Carley’s Cut & Curl in Creedence, Colorado. She loves this town and feels like what she does is so much more than just a place to get your hair done. It’s a place to make women feel beautiful, to empower them. Carley is divorced, has been for several years. Her waste of space ex husband did a number on her self confidence. He always made her feel bad about herself. So Carley has sworn off men. She has no interest in ever getting married again. But she can’t help but to flirt with the sexy deputy whenever they see each other.

Knox Garrison knew as soon as he first saw Carley that she was something special. She also has her heart locked down due to what her ex did to her. But he is determined to try to whittle down her defenses and convince her to go on a date with him.

When Carley’s ex shows up in Creedence, he seems to enjoy pushing all both Carley and Knox’s buttons. He obviously has something up his sleeve and it can’t be anything good. But, what Carley and Knox most definitely hadn’t planned on is a fake engagement.

We got such an adorable menagerie of animals in this book. Some of the ones from previous books, the huge pig that thinks he’s a dog, a demon goat named Otis and cat that seems to have adopted Carley. Now, if that’s not enough, we also are introduced to a whole bunch of insanely cute bouncing baby miniature goats. This was such a cute romance between Carley and Knox. Both have trust issues to overcome but the longer they are ‘fake’ engaged, the more both of them begin to wish it were real. So get ready to go back to Creedence and the Heaven Can Wait Horse Rescue Ranch,

Every Bit a Cowboy, the fifth book in the Creedence Horse Rescue series by Jennie Marts, is every bit (pun intended) as heart clutching swoon worthy as the first four books in the series. Rife with romance, laugh out loud humor…is there anything sexier than a hot cowboy/lawman with a whip smart sense of humor, or a sassy woman who gives as good as she gets?? I’m just saying…and enough steam to compliment all the uniqueness this story holds.

Carley is full of hard fought for spirit, Knox is the type of man many a woman dreams about…rounding out the cast of characters are a plethora of zany animals…more creatures that wreak havoc with their hilarious antics just keep multiplying as the series progresses, now we have baby pigmy goats, a calf that thinks it’s a dog, and a flatulent bull dog!!

Ms Marts is a particularly favorite author of mine, whose stories I steamroll through the first time and then reread a second time to thoroughly enjoy all the nuances that make her an especially gifted author. I have also ventured into her cozy mystery genre and am as captivated by those stories as well.

This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NatGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

***4.5/5 Stars***

Every Bit a Cowboy was a heartwarming, small town romance.  With fake dating, adorably cute farm animals and characters that leapt from the pages, this book was such a huge win!
“Lunch isn’t exactly what I’m hungry for…”
He left the statement open-ended, as if passing the flirty ball back to her side of the court. But as much as her body was responding to his words with surges of heat and crazy stomach flutters, this was one game she wasn’t prepared to play.

Carley Chapman was a hairdresser in town, and we got to meet her in Never Enough Cowboy.  When she got her moving weekends mixed up, and her sister and friends weren't available, she turned to Knox.  Knox Garrison was a deputy in their town, who worked with her sister's husband. They got along so easily and there was a definite spark between them!  So when Carley's horrific ex came back to town, who definitely had some creepy stalker vibes, Knox stood up for her and ended up stating they were engaged.  Living in a small town had word spreading fast.  And they both decided it was best to continue the farce, until her ex left town. What unfolded was so much fun!
“Oh, and Knox,” she said softly. “Thanks for checking in with me. It helped.”
“That’s what friends are for,” he said. “See you tonight.”
That’s what friends are for? He gave himself a mental head slap. Why had he said that? He didn’t want to be her friend.

Carley was definitely jaded from her past, since her ex was a complete douchebag.  Because of him, she didn't want to go on a date let alone have a relationship with a man.  When she found out that Knox had said they were engaged, I was so nervous.  When she agreed to go along with his plan, butterflies erupted.  I had so much hope Carley.  She never felt like she had a home anywhere.  She moved around a lot as a kid and her ex-husband didn't make things stable for them.  So it was easy to understand why she internally struggled about Knox.  She liked him and even though he kept helping her out, she was still terrified that he would hurt her.  Or leave her, like everyone else did.  I patiently waited for Carley to catch up with what her heart already knew, that Knox was one of the good ones.
She closed her fingers around his hand. “You’re a good man, Knox Garrison. Better than I deserve.”
“You deserve everything,” he whispered, the emotion stealing his voice.

Knox was so easy to love!  He showed us time and again that he was kind, thoughtful and caring.  He was so good to his townspeople and I loved how they thanked him with Twinkies lol.  And I loved how he put his feelings out there. He was forward with Carley and let her know that he was interested. Even in front of others. So watching him care and protect Carley shined beautifully from the pages. When they started to pretend that they were engaged, it was impossible not to be giddy with the little touches here and there.  Along with the moments they wanted to be seen together.  But most of all I loved how hot their first kiss was!  The passion and chemistry between them was electrifying!  And together they made such a good team.  They had similar pasts, similar friends and their friendship seemed seamless.  I kept hoping they would switch from faking to real. They both deserved their HEAs!
A grin tugged at his lips. “You think I’m hot?”
She pressed her lips together as if trying not to smile, but in the end she failed. “Yes, of course I do. Remember our moment on the dryer?”
“Darlin’, to my dyin’ day, I will forever remember our moment on the dryer.”

Rounding out this story were side characters that were so easy to like....or dislike.  I was so over the moon happy to see characters from It Started With a Cowboy, that's one of my favorites in the Cowboys of Creedence Series!  We saw soooo many of those we loved from that series and this one too.  Plus we got to attend a wedding for a couple we love!  While yes, you can easily read this as a standalone, I can't recommend the other books in Cowboys of Creedence Series and Creedence Horse Rescue Series enough!  There were also animals we adored from previous books and the introduction of new ones too.  Otis and Tiny and their antics had me cracking up again!  I wish they were real, I'd love to meet them!  And the newest additions, awww sooo cute, and I loved the nod to Friends.  Now for the dislike side, ohhh how I hated Paul and kept wishing for something bad karma to happen!
For just that moment in time, she let herself trust Knox, with her body and her heart, and surrendered herself to him.

Every Bit a Cowboy was a romantic fake dating romance that brimmed with tons of heart! With characters that were so easy to connect with, a town that felt like home, and friendships and love that filled the pages with so emotion, it was impossible not to love this book. I always pick up Jennie Marts books knowing that I'll smile, laugh and fall in love, so I can't wait to read her next release!

Jennie Marts continues the saga in Creedance with Carly & Knox. When everyone gets the move date wrong, Carly calls Knox, the Deputy Sheriff, to help her move to the Heaven Can Wait Ranch. Sparks are already flying between these two, but both have broken hearts & trust issues from past relationships. Carly’s ex-husband, Paul, returns claiming to want her back, but she smells something fishy with his story. Paul tries to get between Knox & Carly & Knox blurbs out that their engaged. Will the fake engagement turn into something real, will Paul win back Carly or will all go their separate ways?

Mixed in the story is another one of the Heaven Can Wait Rescue Ranch, where animals are rescued. This one has dogs, a cat, goats, horses, & a calf & a pig in it. The shenanigans these animals get in to will have you laughing & crying.

Jennie will keep you glued to the book till the end & make you want more.

Knox and Carley😍

OMG, I’ve been waiting for Knox and Carley’s story for what feels like ages and it did not disappoint❣️I absolutely loved this couple along with the menagerie of animals that accompanied them. A beautiful story of two people that have been hurt in the past by others and forge an unlikely path but it ultimately leads to them becoming more❤️‍🩹

I love this series and I seriously hope we have more books coming our way🙃 I received an advanced copy via Netgalley and voluntarily leave my honest review❤️

This was such a fun book. Knox is the perfect book boyfriend. He’s sexy, funny, sweet and alpha. Nothing beats a hot cowboy with a baby in his arms. Carley is such a sweet woman and a lot stronger than she gives herself credit for. I just love all the goofy animals. I laughed so hard at them. This book just made me feel good.

Every Bit a Cowboy by Jennie Marts is a swoon worthy romance that captivated me from beginning to end! ❤️🔥 This is my first book by this author and I am definitely going to be reading more of her stories. I LOVED almost everything about this book; my only complaint…no epilogue, it just ends! *sigh* I totally fell in love with Knox Garrison - he is everything that a perfect man should be - cowboy, animal lover, humorous etc., and I could have read about him forever! Carly, she is a great heroine and I enjoyed watching her regain her self-esteem. I thought these two made a perfect couple. Loved the shenanigans Knox and Carly got up to with their menagerie of pets. I loved Rodney, can’t wait to see how that works out!

I also have to mention the very real topic of animal neglect and abuse. The author does a great job of bringing this important topic into the world she has created, I applaud her as a fellow animal lover.

Overall 5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | 5 Flames 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I already know this will be a top read for 2023!

I really enjoyed this addition to the Creedence Horse Rescue series. Knox, a deputy sheriff, was the perfect hero. He was funny, charming, sweet, loyal, kind and overall a really great guy. I really had no complaints about him at all, other than he didn't always seem to be the best deputy (anyone could see that Paul was up to no good and would have verified his story at the salon). Carly, a stylist, was smart, dedicated, and loyal, but she lacked confidence. Her ex Paul really did a number on her and she lost a lot of that belief in herself. At times the self-doubts became a bit annoying. Knox was doing everything he could to make her see she was worthy and that he could be trusted, but she really let how her ex behaved influence her judgement of Knox.

The build-up with the Paul situation lasted most of the book, but the resolution was very sudden and anti-climatic. It was honestly a letdown and that's why I gave this 4 stars instead of 5. I kept expecting some big 'showdown' based on the drama for most of the book, but that simply didn't happen.

All of the animals were cute, as usual, and they provided lots of laughter with their antics. The rescue is turning into quite the diverse little farm.

Hilarious! This book starts where the previous one finished. No thanks to her horrible ex-husband who was verbally abusive, Carley Chapman is now a successful businesswoman with her own beauty shop and owner of half the building in which it resides. Her ex mother-in-law, who she loves, is co-owner of the building. She is moving from her small apartment to a renovated bunk house at the Creedence Horse Rescue Ranch. She is also being pursued by the handsome Deputy Knox Garrison. However, after her horrible marriage, she has no interest in any relationship with a man. So Knox first puts himself in the friend zone, until Carley's ex sneaks back into town. He is up to something, so Knox announces that they are engaged. Carly isn't so sure how she feels about that, but soon they move into sharing benefits. However, Carley isn't the only one with abandonment issues. Knox's ex, not only broke his heart, but took their dog too. Will they have the courage to tell each other how they really feel to get their HEA?

Lots of humor from the banter to the situations with the many rescued animals. Endearing characters include the personalities of the 4 legged ones. Lots of fun to read.

I read an ARC provided by th publisher via NetGalley.com. The is my unbiased and voluntary review.

Thanks to Netgalley for a copy of this book for an honest review.

I'm seriously in love with all the random stray animals in this book!! The Friends goats are hilarious. Love Knox and Carley as well and the people of the town. Paul is truly terrible and I so wanted Carley to punch him! Can definitely be read as a standalone but I now want to read the others. I'm guessing the next book will be about Holt.

This one is a winner! I loved Carly and Knox's story - from their pretend engagement, to their various animals and animal rescue. They were wonderful together and the author made them come alive on the page. I felt invested in the characters in their getting a HEA ending.

Fans of the genre will love this book. The author is on my must read authors' list.

Carley Chapman runs the town beauty salon. Knox Garrison is the town deputy sheriff. Knox is attracted to Carley, but she is not interested in dating she has a divorce in her rear-view mirror and is commitment shy. Paul is Carley's ex-husband he shows up in town trying to win her back and Knox tells him they are dating and engaged. Carley and Knox decide to let everyone think they are and item. After spending time together, they finally realize there is something worth pursuing.
I have read all the previous books in this series and really enjoyed them all. Carley has moved out to the ranch and Knox owns his grandparents ranch so there are lots of animals to look after and take care of.

I made an account just to rate this book. I finished it out of spite bc it took up one of my five borrows of the month. It took me TWO WEEKS to finish this piece of shit because I kept stopping.

I didn’t know this was part of a series, but I can say with confidence this will be my first and last book by this author.

The only reason I gave it two stars was because the author managed to finish writing the book and the second star is for my damn self because I managed to finish reading it.

Carly is so stupid, oh my goodness. She’s an idiot. I don’t understand why she keeps acting like Knox is pretending to like her for the sake of Paul the entire fucking book when he’s been trying to date her since long before Paul came back in town. Yeah, I get it, she’s supposed to have low self-esteem. But COME ON!! This man has told you several times he’s into you. He’ll kiss her, sleep with her even, and she’s like “what if he didn’t mean it?” You can’t be fucking serious. And Paul who’s trying to take her building from her, why can’t she just go to Evelyn (Paul’s grandmother, who owns the other half of the building) and ask to buy it from her? Plain and simple fix, and she somehow hasn’t come to that conclusion. And I just know the author’s the whitest of white women when they adopted like 7 goats and named them after the characters from Friends. Not to mention, no one even blinked when some other couple said they let their goats stay in their kitchen most of the time?!;!:/(?! You can’t just eat in anybody’s house these days.

I also genuinely have a hard time understanding how I’m supposed to root for them when they literally have no chemistry and don’t communicate. Or, my favorite, one person does speak, and the other pretends not to listen. Carly is really good at that.

Like, mans literally said “I love you” and shes like “huh? What did you say?”

Not to mention the only reason she started even “going out” with him like he’s been asking her FOR A YEAR is because Knox lied to her ex-husband and said they were engaged.

They don’t use their words at all. The only thing I can say is they have sexual chemistry. And I didn’t even care to read that after the first time because it was never followed with actual conversation.

Literally the only thing that bonds them together is…animals. Dogs. Goats. Cats. Horses. That’s the only thing that bonds them.

And her whole, “I don’t know my worth or that I’m beautiful” got old 5 chapters in.

Every single problem in this book can be fixed with a conversation that the characters refuse to have.

I have enjoyed every book in this series and with each book, I think it's my favorite, but beyond a doubt, this was my favorite one!

Carley Chapman, the owner of Cut & Curl, has rebuilt her life with a successful business in a building she partly owns thanks to the divorce settlement. The other owner is, Evelyn Chapman, her feisty 80-year-old grandmother-in-law. Carley's ex-husband has left her mistrustful of men and is keeping a particular male at arm's length no matter how hot and sweet he is!

When that hot Deputy Knx Garrison shows up after getting a call of a disturbance in the salon, and immediately jumps in to lend a hand. Carley soon finds that she's getting no help from the patrons who are making their own suggestions. One, in particular, Evelyn, is just a tad conniving with her "helpful" suggestion that had me laughing out loud, giving meaning to the saying --old but not dead! Knox likes to help out and takes payment in the form of Twinkies.

Things get interesting when Carley's ex-husband shows up and acts all territorial, by paying a visit to Knox at work. Knox wanted to take Paul down a peg or two and opens his mouth but what comes out creates a dilemma! That dilemma spreads like wildfire.

Before a solution can be discussed, Paul shows up to disrupt Carley's life again and she goes along with what Knox's mouth got him in trouble, to begin with. Before either know it, they are both involved in a fake engagement.

I loved Carley & Knox's story. It took a fake engagement for both to realize that maybe they weren't pretending after all.

I requested and received an ARC from NetGalley via SOURCEBOOK Casablanca and I have voluntarily reviewed this book.

Every Bit a Cowboy by Jennie Marts is the fifth book in the Creedence Horse Rescue series. This is such a heartwarming story. Carley Chapman is divorced and has enjoyed her five years of freedom. She owns her own business, Carley's Cut & Curl, in the building Carley co-owns with her former mother-in-law. When Carley's ex-husband shows up saying he wants her back (which Carley doesn't believe and certainly doesn't want) Deputy Knox Garrison steps up to shield Carley with a fake engagement. I love Carley and Knox together. They are such likeable characters and I really enjoyed their journey to their Happily Ever After. I love a good cowboy romance and that's what I get every time I read a Jennie Marts book!

I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

Reviewed at Happily Ever After Romance

Every Bit A Cowboy is the fifth title in the Creedence Horse Rescue series… and I have to confess that I love this menagerie of animals at the ranch almost as much as I love the cowboys and their ladies! If you haven’t yet begun this series, I would highly recommend that you get started right now, especially if you enjoy the shenanigans that only animals can provide. Could you start right here? Sure. But there are lots of other great stories in store if you go back to the beginning, in my opinion.

A sudden building disaster means that Carley needs to move her salon temporarily out to the Creedence Horse Rescue Ranch. And one of the hottest, nicest cowboys is there to help that move. Not that Carley is interested in romance, no, her vile ex made certain that she’s not trusting any man as far as she can toss him, let alone agree to a relationship again. Her ex has done a number on her belief in herself, and she is as skittish as a newborn foal when she realizes that Knox is flirting with her.

Then when Paul (the vile ex) comes sniffing around again, trying to get Carley back for his own purposes… well, Knox is having none of that and impulsively announces their engagement, to the surprise of everyone, including Carley. He might have just made matters worse for the woman he’s coming to love, or it could have been the best move possible, only time and Carley have the answer to that.

I loved Knox. He’s just, well, swoon-worthy. He’s stubborn, yes, but he’s also kind, full of humor, loves animals, and is a protector to his core. Carley broke my heart for what she’s been through, and it’s easy to understand her hesitation concerning Knox. Yet, she’s also falling for the man who seems determined to build her self-esteem back up again and to love her exactly as she is. Hard to fight against that, and she really doesn’t want to, but she’s scared to trust again.

I actually fell in love with a gas-filled pup. The subject of animal abuse and neglect is tastefully and realistically mentioned. You have to be lower than a snake’s belly to harm an innocent animal, in my opinion, so I was grateful to see this subject addressed.

I had such a good time back in this world. If you love a fun, sexy, emotional romance with realistic characters… and adorable animals, then Every Bit A Cowboy should be on your radar.

This book is the perfect romantic read. It includes lots of flirty behaviour, entertaining banter, charming romantic gestures and sweet, sexy moments. A menagerie of adorably cuddly or irascible animals and their antics make this book impossible to put down. The charming and fascinating characters, and a fake engagement that feels all too real storyline are impossible to resist.

Knox, the very handsome Deputy Sheriff, has a very sexy drawl and is an unrepentant flirt. He has taken an interest in the beautiful hair salon owner, Carley, after spending time with her at her sister’s wedding. Carley is a little reluctant to get involved without any man after everything she went through with her ex husband. He was an intent on belittling and undermining her at every turn, and it was a relief to put their relationship behind her. She does enjoy flirting with the deputy, but she intends to do everything to keep her heart safe. However, it is mighty hard to resist a man who will pinch hit in the hair salon or do odd jobs around town and accept twinkies as payment. Knox has been through the wringer in the romance department too, but there is just something about Carley that draws him to her. He persuades her to go on a date just as her smarmy ex reappears. Knox finds himself claiming Carley as his fiancée in order to thwart her ex. Good thing Carley decided to go along with it, because the whole town has heard the good news and her ex is still hovering. Both Carley and Knox tell themselves their engagement is just pretend and they are only pretending to have deep feelings for each other. Why then, do those feelings seem so real? Everyone around them keeps saying they make a great couple. Could they all be right? Could Knox and Carley really have a chance at a happily ever after?

After her marriage imploded the way it did Carley Chapman quickly decided that romance was no longer a word in her vocabulary... no love or relationships for her! Then a broken pipe brings one very handsome cowboy into her life and he literally turns it upside down by muttering the words engaged and her in the same sentence to her ex. Now she finds herself playing fiancé to a man she knows very little about, but secretly wants to!

Every Bit a Cowboy is a perfectly crafted western romance that will have you swooning and smiling like a fool from beginning to end! Nothing stirs up steam and anticipation more than two people who are anti-love and are thrown together and have to fake it. These two were perfect for one another, even if they didn't see it at first. Sure they had the flirting thing down pat, but it took a faux engagement to give them that push they needed to step out of their comfort zones and give it another try. Both had their hang-ups about love and reservations about giving it another chance, but once they started to spend time together and started to learn that they actually had a lot in common the nerves seem to settle... and the love grew!

As always Ms. Marts has given us a story that's heavy on heart, humor, and steam! Her perfectly blended story kept me enthralled, smiling, and in my feels the whole way through! Highly recommend!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.

Every Bit a Cowboy is Jennie Marts’ Credence Horse Rescue book #5. In this novel, Carley Chapman, owner of Carley’s Cut and Curl, is the main character. Carley has gotten her life back together after divorcing her manipulative ex husband, Paul. Luckily, his grandmother Evelyn has taken up for Carley and the biggest part of the divorce settlement is joint ownership between Evelyn and Carley of the building housing her salon and their tenant Amber’s yoga studio.

When Deputy Knox Garrison shows interest in Carley, she does her best to ignore him as she has sworn off men forever. But when the deputy keeps coming to her aid, Carley begins letting her guard down some. Then Paul comes back to town sniffing around making assumptions that the only reason Carley hasn’t dated is because she is still waiting for him to come back, Knox first slips up saying they’re dating but when Paul scoffs, he takes it further to say they are engaged.

From here, the story becomes both laughable and poignant, as Knox and Carley form a liaison to thwart Paul’s plans while watching over the horse rescue, making rescues, and, just maybe, giving the small town of Credence something to talk about.

This is a delightful story, as has been the case for every book I have read by Ms. Marts. Her ability to weave together endearing characters, wonderful locations, and plots that both entwine human behavior and issues to be solved is skillful and presents stories that are very entertaining. I very much enjoyed this book and I do recommend it!

Rollicking good fun!

Hot cowboy cop? Creepy ex-husband? Fake engagement? Goat yoga? Yep, this book has all that and then some - including a calf that thinks he's a dog. As we've seen in the earlier books in this series, these characters are all die-hard animal lovers and I am here for every last bit.

Determined never to be left behind again, Carley is trying her best to resist Deputy Knox's flirtations. But when he fabricates a little white lie to shut up her incessantly annoying ex, that starts the whole town clamoring for their romance. It doesn't hurt that he's so easy going and very easy on the eyes, and he's great with all the animals that are her new companions once she moves into one of the bunkhouse apartments at the animal rescue ranch.

There aren't a lot of surprises in this story, but the romance is more than swoony enough to carry us along. I always enjoy these trips to Creedence, getting to hang out with the assorted small town characters and watching the hilarious antics of the growing menagerie. The scene where Jillian finds out what's going with her sister was absolute perfection and I've rarely laughed so loud.

Carley and Knox have a very satisfying HEA and we're introduced to a few new characters who, I'm hoping, will be featured in their own upcoming book(s). I really enjoy this author's writing style and am looking forward to reading more in this series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Carley Chapman, owner of the Cut & Curl hair salon, is in the process of moving, however, the help she was expecting is out of town. She turns to hunky Deputy Knox Garrison, who willingly helps her move her belongings to the Heaven Can Wait Horse Rescue Ranch. From that point on, it seems that Knox is there whenever Carley needs help, and often when she doesn’t. When her ex returns to town claiming he’s there to win her back and keeps referring to himself as her husband, Knox steps in and claims he and Carley are engaged. Then he has to tell Carley the predicament he’s gotten them both involved in. And it isn’t long before everyone in town has heard about the engagement. What’s a girl to do?

There’s a flooding at the Cut & Curl and Carley is forced to temporarily move her business out to the ranch, which works out quite well. There are goats, a bulldog who not only snores quite loudly but also lets loose with some foul odors frequently, a calf who thinks it’s a dog, and horses. Some of the salon customers are quite entertaining. Carley wonders why her ex is really back in town.

This was a fun read with likable characters, a little suspense, new love, new beginnings, and more.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I always look forward to a new 'cowboy romance' from Jennie Marts and this one definitely lived up to my expectations! This cowboy, Knox, is also the local Deputy. And he lives up to every ideal image of what an honorable man should be...although he's a little gun-shy from having his heart hurt by an ex who rubbed salt in the wound by taking his dog, too. Still, there's something about the owner of the local hair salon he can't quite resist.

Carley has had her own share of heartbreak, and she's hoping to never again see the dirt bag who did it. But when he unexpectedly shows up in town...right about the same time her salon, the fruit of her hard work and dreams, is flooded by broken pipes, it feels like too much back luck all at once. Until Knox comes to her rescue with an alternate location at the local Horse Rescue while the damage is repaired.

Knox can't resist the urge to protect Carley, but when Carley's ex just won't take no for an answer, Knox might have gone a little too far telling him they were engaged. Now they need to live the lie of their engagement in the hope of getting rid of the dirt bag. But what happens when the line between reality and the lie starts to blur? Well, with Marts we know it will be funny, sweet and loaded with her special style of country romance. Enjoy the read!

Gorgeous fake to real romance,
With characters leading a merry dance.
There's animals up to mischief, too,
And an ex at whom you like to boo!

Knox Garrison is a rancher and Deputy,
Who saw Carley Chapman and liked what he could see.
However, he knew she'd been hurt before
And was determined not to be hurt any more.

When a skirmish occurs in her hairdressers place
He's there to ensure there's no disgrace.
He's handsome. kind, and makes her heart race
Offering to help her move into her new place.

He's talking to her when her ex turns up unexpectedly,
It makes her uncomfortable, he can see.
The ex is sniffing around, claiming to be there for her still
But Carley doesn't want him again and never will!

A confrontation where Knox to claim they're engaged to be wed
Is overheard by others and the news is soon spread.
Get ready for ructions, floods, horses and goats, too,
In this delightful read, I highly recommend to you!

With much of the story at the Heaven Can Wait Horse Rescue,
The animal antics had me laughing and will you, too!
There's plenty of humour, laughter, love and caring
For animals and the characters as you discover how they're faring.

A great addition to this heartwarming series and so
I highly recommend you also give it a go!
For my complementary copy, I say thank you,
As I share with you this, my honest review.

We are back in Creedence where the cowboys are handsome and their women strong.
This time the story belongs to Carley Chapman, the owner of Cut & Curl, and Deputy Knox Garrison.
The attraction has been there since they danced at a recent wedding, but they both have been hurt by their past relationships and are not interested in getting their hearts broken once again.
When Carley needs help in moving and later not only her shop is flooded but also her ex shows up in town making demands as well as her uncomfortable, Knox steps up to help Carley.
As these two navigate through a fake engagement, an irritating ex and a menagerie of animals, feelings deepen.
Will misunderstandings have them going their separate ways with their hearts broken, or will they realize that they are perfect for each other and need to embrace their feelings?
Though I am still partial to a couple of the previous stories in the series, How to Cowboy and Never Enough Cowboy, this one was a good addition to the series.
It also gave this reader a chance to “visit” with some of the characters from previous books.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

*Every Bit a Cowboy* is a continuation of Jennie Marts' Creedence Horse Rescue romance series. The story follows Carley Chapman, a hairdresser striving to make her own way after getting away from her asshole of an ex-husband. She's sworn off men but after a bit of a "my horse is bigger than your horse" fight between the men, she finds herself *fake engaged* to Sheriff's Deputy Knox Garrison. While they both try to fight it, this fake engagement features some very real emotions. I'll let you read for yourself how and if they manage to make the relationship real.

Even though I jumped into the middle of this small town's overall arc, the characters who have already found their HEAs had just enough context to fill in the voids needed for this story. I thought the beginning was just a little clunky but once the story found it's wheels things ran just fine.
.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ - would read them all if on KU or at my library but can't buy them right now.
🔥🔥🔥 - definitely not closed door but doesn't get so descriptive that things get graphic.

I think @goodreads' giveaways may be my new favorite way to discover authors I haven't had a chance to read before. While I'm still committed to my KU faves, this is how I found @jenniemartswriter and her big hearted cowboys.

There's nothing quite like a cowboy.
No matter how swoony the cute cowboy is, romance is the last thing on Carley Chapman's mind. But it's hard to ignore Knox Garrison and the spark of attraction she feels every time he's near. When a water line break floods her building, she's forced to move her salon out to the Horse Rescue ranch, and Knox shows up to help. But things get even more complicated when Carley's no-good ex comes sniffing around and Knox "fixes" the problem by telling him they're engaged…

I want to thank Sourcebooks Casablanca for sending this for me to review via NetGalley!

Creedence has become a special place in my heart. Jennie has created a wonderful place full of hunky cowboys and wonderful women. Carley is the sunny hairdresser in Creedence. She has had a hard time in getting back on her feet after her ex had brought her down with his cruel and demeaning behavior. But now, everything is looking good.

Knox has had a crush on the feisty and cheery hairdresser for a long time. An 1 although he flirts with her every time, she keeps regaling him to the friends zone. Knox’s attempts to flirt with Carley are just adorable. And although I understood Carley’s hesitance to start dating again, I found myself rooting for Knox.

When Carley’s ex shows up and Knox accidentally tells him they are engaged, I laughed so hard, I had to run to the bathroom to avoid peeing in my pants. I could just see those cowboys bidding against each other. From there, the story flows from one funny scene to another.

And let’s not forget about all the cute animals in the Creedence Horse Rescue Ranch. In all, yet another wonderful Creedence story. Can’t wait for the next one! Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

This is a fun, interesting, captivating read. I laughed so much reading this book – love Marts sense of humour that she wrote this book with. Knox and Carley are complex, well-developed characters. I enjoyed their journey as a couple in this book. I love Knox, he is a new book boyfriend. Carley and Knox on the page together are something special – the flirting and their interactions. Both the secondary characters and animals added to the fabric of the story. They are all so varied in personalities, it was fun at times to read about them.

I read this book as a stand alone and enjoyed it. BUT I think I would have enjoyed it even more if I had read the previous four books in order. The main characters from many of the previous books make appearances in this one and the main characters in Every Bit a Cowboy are in the book prior to this one.

Possible trigger: Carley lives at an animal rescue ranch. There are on page scenes of various types of rescues.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
