The second prequel will continue the story of the rise of the Antichrist and the journey of the other main characters as, unknown to them, time hurtles toward the Rapture. Readers will want every possible soul saved to avoid the seven-year Tribulation, and they will see why characters such as Rayford, Chloe, and Buck fail to believe. Events in Israel will be heating up, and some main characters like Rayford and Buck will be thrust into the thick of the drama.

A great series on the rapture and the end of times. This book was technically a prequel and developed the early lives of the main characters. Helped in knowing the back story.
I’m surprised by how much I enjoyed this. I read the first book years ago, don’t remember any of it. So I’d figured starting with the prequel books would be a nice reentry into the series. This book was… ridiculous fun. The pacing was quick but that made the characters very one-dimensional. It didn’t bother me, though. Following the conception and birth of the antichrist was wild and Nick was a mess. He was so over the top, I had to laugh. Definitely enjoyed his storyline WAY more than Ray’s. I found Ray’s storyline scattered. It was giving bad Lifetime movie. He was so weak-willed. On to the next book. More of Nick’s plotting world domination and I hope this next book gives me a reason to care about Ray’s arc.
This is one of those books that I read back in middle school or high school and decided to reread as an adult. I found it a bit slow but I feel like that’s because I was remembering things as I was reading. Otherwise a great start to a series.
