Emily Lickenson Could Not Stop Death is the third book in the series by CeeCee James.
I really love this series so much!
Emily is starting to get used to living in her new apartment. I love Shakespeare, her cat who she takes for walks. While she is out taking said kitty out , she discovers a dead body behind her apartment.
Of course she calls her Aunt Mattie and she is investigating the case.
I love the relationship between Emily and Aunt Mattie as they follow the clues that the police won't take seriously.
This is such a well written mystery with fantastic characters that I really love.
Emily Lickenson is settling into her new apartment. While taking her cat, Shakespeare, for a walk, she discovers a body in the alley behind her apartment building. After calling for the police, Emily waits at the entrance to the alley to keep people away from the crime scene until the police can get there. A call to her Aunt Mattie results in arousing her interest in the case. A further search of the crime scene uncovers a cigar butt, which Emily and Mattie turn over to the police. It seems that the police did not consider it to be of any importance. Given the lack of interest by the police, Emily and Mattie decide to conduct their own investigation.
Who was the body in the alley? Why was he killed? Why aren't the police more involved in solving the death? Will Emily and Mattie also become targets? Can Emily and Mattie unravel the mystery?
CeeCee James has another fabulous mystery with her latest Emily Lickenson story!! She has great characters and realistic situations that are guaranteed to keep readers engaged clear to the end.
This whole series is a blast and this book, is no exception. Emily and Shakespeare, her cat, find a body near their apartment and when she and here Aunt Maddie start probing around, trying to solve the mystery, it seems they might have opened a hornet's nest. Entertaining, suspenseful and just plain fun to read! I highly recommend this book and the whole series.
Emily Lickenson Could Not Stop Death is the 3rd book in the series by CeeCee James in Emily, Shakespeare, and Aunt Mattie are going to find the killer even it kills them. This is a great series and I highly recommond this to anyone who loves to read. Thank you to CeeCee James, you have done it again!
Very suspenseful! Hard to believe the widespread impact of their investigation. Emily is finally coming into her own maturity in life and self-confidence. Shakespeare is a sweet pal. Aunt Mattie is better now that her acerbity is dialing down some. Her demands are still too much to enjoy her as a central character.
With a self proclaimed detective, her Aunt Mattie, Emily finds she has little choice but to agree to investigate a murder. The victim was killed near Emily's apartment building. Can she and Aunt Mattie solve the crime? A stay alive?
There wasn't much to this story. A young women living in a small apartment over looking an alley stumbles on a murdered man when walking her cat. Her aunt considers herself a detective and pushes her to help solve the murder. No magic.
This story was a bit more dramatic than the other two. The characters are very interesting, the plot is easily followed, and the premise is finding out who killed the guy so close to Emily's new apartment. I do recommend this story.
I really enjoyed this book. It is fun and full of adventure. I love the quirky characters and the cute cat as well. The mystery is interesting and has many twists. This is a fantastic cozy mystery.
