FROM MILLION COPY BESTSELLER JASPER T. SCOTT
In a battle over an ancient elven relic, two powerful wizards accidentally abduct an “Elder” from the past.
While fleeing system patrollers in his ship, Aurelius flies through a temporal anomaly and crash lands on Meridia. This planet is nothing like the one he remembers. It’s full of strange, magical creatures, and peppered with the ruins of cities he once knew.

Armed with nothing but his damaged ship, Aurelius joins the wizard Gabrian on a dangerous quest to recover the stolen relic so that he can return to his time. Along the way, he encounters the greatest danger of all, one with the power to consume his mind, body, and soul.

Mrythdom is a standalone high fantasy adventure with a genre-blending dash of sci-fi and a splash of romance. From the Dragonlands of the north to the Misty Sea of the south, this book is chock full of wizards, werewolves, elves, gremlins, trolls, dragons, and mermaids; a unique adventure told in the tradition of Tolkien.

Mrythdom "Game of Time"
4th edition.

Not having read the first edition (2021) I'm unable to compare the two books.

I found this edition of Mrythdom to be a pleasant departure from Scott's general style.

In fact the first chapter had me asking "what's going on?"

It's not until much further in the book, that you realise why the story starts were it does.

I enjoyed the character developments as they journey together.

The story line is somewhat slightly predictable, any yet very entertaining.

The comedy via the character innocent antics is refreshing.

Scott's ability to bring each segment together is as strong as ever.
The blindsiding twists and turns within the twists builds and adds to the journey to the very end.

Mrythdom is a wonderful demonstration of what and were a good Si-Fi story can take you.

In this case a future that had developed into a past.
And a past which becomes the future.

Anything can happen when you mix fantasy with magic wrapped within a Science Fiction bubble.

If this captures your imagination and curiosity
You won't be disappointed with this offering.

While the book finishes well. There is scope for future sequels.

Mermaids huh...

This book started out with a nice base of your typical fantasy genre, then added a pinch of sci-fi to compliment, and finished with a garnish of time travel. Somehow this mishmash of flavors came out tasting pretty good. There was even a nice plot twist that took me longer than it should have to realize.

The first third of the book our press ganged posse chases the bad guy across Mrythdom until their quarry goes swimming with the fishes and hides out in Meria, the city of mermaids, where we spend the remainder of the story. I was kinda bummed we didn’t explore more of Mrythdom cause it seemed like a pretty cool world but on the flip side, mermaids don’t usually show up in books I read so that element was fairly fresh.

The magical rules and abilities didn’t seem consistent and I didn’t always understand certain characters motivations. It was very realistic in the fact that almost everyone who helped assist the quest got screwed for their efforts.

This is a stand alone novel with a clean resolution and no cliffhanger, enjoy.

I honestly thought this story was more in the line of the fantasy genre vice sci-fi, so it was not what I was expecting from Jasper T Scott. Jasper stretched his writing skills with this story and he hit it out of the asteroid field. Aurelius is flying through an asteroid field and suddenly finds himself in another time period, complete with dragons, mages, gryphons, mermen and mermaids, trolls and werewolves. Now doesn't all those characters just make want you to read this book? It did me. Aurelius doesn't understand what is happening at first, but is his travelling companion telling him the truth? And what is the truth? I love the nickname he calls his companion. Sounds like he might believe in this time period after all. Thank you Jasper for another great read.

I love Jasper T. Scott's books. This book has a unique twist. It has magic, time travel, and space technology all intertwined in the story. The premise of the book is wonderful. Although I did not connect with his characters as well as I usually do. If you like something a bit different and like fantasy as well as science fiction, then this is the book for you.

"Myrthdom" by Jasper T. Scott is a fantastic blend of science fiction and fantasy that sparks with vivid imagination and great ideas. Our hero Aurelius needs to find a way home to his world and his own time, that is the main storyline of this book but it is filled with great fantasy episodes and characters to make this a very engaging read.
I am not a huge fan of science fiction or fantasy and only occasionally read works of those genres but I am very impressed with Myrthdom and its use of popular themes of fantasy and turning them into a new and original mix, some kind of Stardust meets Twilight and Lord of the Rings. An ambitious undertaking that works very well for me.
Scott has created an entire world of elves, leviathans, gryphons, werewolves, trolls, dragons, gremlins and meremaids, but with such love for detail and his work that the book easily stands out from the often repetitive and mediocre helpings of an overcrowded genre. Scott seems naturally at home in his style, confident in his writing and has created memorable characters.
I must confess I was surprised how easily the space ship and time portal part of the plot fitted into the fantasy world but the main focus is on Mrythdom, the new world that Aurelius encounters, where he and his companions have to brave the challenges a world full of fantasy creatures creates.

All The Right Ingredients:

There are certain elements that ensure a smooth and entertaining read in the fantasy genre: innovative characters, a plot that moves along, plenty of twists and turns. Jasper Scott manages it all in effortless fashion.

I have started a number of fantasy books recently and not been able to stay with them. I need to feel invested in the characters and the task before them. Scott's characters stayed with me between readings - wondering how they were doing. None of them are perfect which is why you feel for them. I didn't think I would stay with a book that fuses SF and F, but Scott skillfully made it work.

His world-building is excellent, particularly Meria. His Meria society offers sexual tension that was enjoyable and tasteful. I had spent the best part of the first half wondering whether this might be another series to share with my teen son. The erotic tension was just right for it to be edgy without precluding a YA audience.

Scott has set this up as a series. I look forward to the sequel and how Aurelius is going to succeed - if he is going to, that is. Either way, I'm enjoying the journey with him.

Jasper Scott - I'm a fan!

Mrythdom is a different direction for the talented wordsmith, Jasper T. Scott, and the most important thing to know is that he has been hiding some of his gifts. But, Scott has decided to share this particular gem with his readers, for which I am very grateful and happy. This fantasy/time travel novel will bring many twists into your life as you turn the pages as quickly as possible to see what will befall the main characters next. Those characters are interesting, as well as entertaining and a tad manipulative. The universe it is set in leaves a lot of room for future stories (I hope) but, is currently a standalone novel. I highly recommend it to any fantasy lovers. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Disclaimer: I received this ARC from the author and this is my honest and freely given opinion.

Received as an ARC, this is is an honest review. Mrythdom is an absolute gorgeous fantasy adventure that begins with a bang with an epic battle Malgore and Gabrian, each determined to wield the control a prominent relic that will be everything. Aurelius is in his own desperate challenge, racing through the stars; trying to escape ISS interceptors... the next minute he discovers he's crashed into Gabrian's world and absolutely confused by the magic and monsters that roam. Forced to trust each other's skills to survive a deadly world where trust could get you killed and lies hide important secrets; Mrythdom transport you to the past, future with time as like a board game... winner take all. Amd consequences echo.

Highly recommended.

I’m still here

I’ll be honest, my first thought was this is a Lord of The Rings type book which is not the norm for Jasper and I’m not going to like it. I’ve read all of Japser’s work, so I figured I’d stick with it. Aurelius is traveling through space with cargo that he shouldn’t be hauling when patrol catches up with him and he tries to get away. Gabrian and Malgore are fighting over the relic when all of sudden Malgore disappears and Aurelius with his ship suddenly appears in his ship. No longer in space Aurelius is thrust into a new world where wizards, giant trolls, mermaids and werewolves live. He must help Gabrian find Malgore so he can get home and Gabrian can save both his world and Aurelious’ world. Fantasy mixed with a little SciFi!

I found this book hard to read to start with, but it became a book I did not want to put down.

I loved the story.

Aurelius is fleeing system controllers in his spaceship. He flies through a portal crash landing on Meridia. The planet is full of strange, magical creatures.

Two powerful wizards have accidentally brought him from the past. They call him an “Elder”.

He joins one of them to recover a stolen relic to enable him to return to his time. But everything is not as it seems.

I received this book as an ARC and thoroughly enjoyed it.

A mix of Sci-Fi and fantasy that barrels along with minimal characterization but is great fun regardless.
The author usurps some old myths and legends into his story and, at times, I wish we had been able to more fully explore some of the societies we came across.
At the end, I hovered over the rating because the middle section felt like a teenage boys wet dream, but because I did enjoy it I gave it 4 stars.
To give it less would have felt churlish.

A mix of Buck Rodgers meets Lord of the Rings with the legend of Atlantis. There's Trolls werewolves and even what could be dinosaurs in this great epic fantasy. Aurelius is drawn through a vortex to a distant future where magic prevails. He must help one wizard retrieve a relic from a evil wizard so he can return to his own time. What follows is an amazing adventure with great action and plenty of twists and turns. Plus and very good ending definitely recommend

This is an interesting blend of genres. It definitely brought Homer's Odyssey to mind, even some of the events that take place are closely related. But it also blends classic Sci-Fi with Tolkien like fantasy. I enjoyed the book very much, but at times thought the protagonist was a bit dense and slow to grasp his situation. Scott is a good story teller with a creative imagination.
