I am a retired anthropologist who has lived and studied in Mexico and the Micronesian island of Ponape. I ahve always loved mystery novels, so in retirement I decided to write mysteries and as my first novel, I have used the Mayan world as my focus. I hope you enjoy Human Sacrfice.

An informative longitudinal study by ethnographer Cindy Hull during her repeated visits to the rural town of Yaxbe in Yucatan, Mexico. This text examines the historical context of the region, the development of the henequen industry of the area's main cash crop, and the effect the downfall of this industry had on the local scale and people of Yaxbe. It reveals the culture of the people of Yaxbe, and an insight into the lives of several individuals there, as well as their resilience in the face of hardship and how they actively adapt to a changing, globalizing world.
