Written in first person dual point of view, The Lost Letters includes bonus content such as author forwards, letters by Jesse and Ella, specially curated music playlists, and audio clips by Joseph Cannata, the muse for Jesse.
The Lost Letters includes a prequel story for Jesse and Ella, who found their HEA in The Broken One, as well as alternative perspectives, extended scenes, and a bonus epilogue. For the best reading experience, it is highly recommended that this love story be read after The Broken One.
To Brittney and Joseph Cannats ( her muse for Jesse) for having the idea of writing this beautiful emotional book. Jesse’s letters to Ella will make your heart bleed for him as this is the only way he feels he can tell her what his true feelings are towards her and an outlet for what is happening in his life. Ella’s letters were full of love, frustration and maybe a little bit of anger towards Jesse. This book is not just about the letters it also tells you a story of Jesse and Ella over the years they where writing to each other. I’m also glad we got to learn a bit more about Marcus. I felt that I could finally say good bye to him. Hope you all enjoy this book as much as I did and don’t forget your tissues.
The Lost Letters is a companion novella to The Broken One (Falcon Falls Security) and offers a deeper glimpse into events that happen during Chasing Daylight:Stealth Ops Book 7. If you haven’t read either of those books yet, I strongly suggest you begin there before reading this.
How can I adequately explain my feelings about this book, I’m at a loss for words.
Brittney Sahin created these characters and gave them life. She found the perfect muse in Joseph Cannata. He brings his A game to every project, photo shoot or performance. Together, they gave Ella and Jesse a voice with letters written to capture their emotions in that moment, marking the milestones and important events in their lives. Having them echo & mirror each other was equally brilliant and heartbreaking. Seeing them find their way back to each other and their HEA was worth every minute.
I’ve been a fan of Brittney’s work for several years now. She’s a master at military suspenseful romance stories. Using the pretense of Jesse & Ella as “pen pals” was perfect. Asking Joseph to take a risk and extend his talent & creativity to writing Jesse’s POV was genius. He tapped into the character and became Jesse in every way.
I would give this more than 5 stars if possible. Bravo… Well done!! Another bestseller!!
Holy S**t! The Lost Letters is on FIRE! 🔥 Joseph Cannata and Brittney Sahin wrote such an amazing novella! Jesse and Ella’s book “The Broken One” has been a favorite of mine.. they make just an amazing couple and are so easy to read about. I love that Brittney and Joseph gave us this of them as well! I loooved getting to read it in their POV. Not that we couldn’t grasp their love for one another from “The Broken One”, this just lets us see it even more! Especially when Jesse says things like “But seeing Ella again was like discovering there was still breath in my lungs. Somehow this woman always gave me the will to fight. To do more than simply survive. To try and be more than “just alive.”” Squeeeee!! 🥰 I could NOT put it down! 🔥🖤
P.S. the insert from Savanna’s romance book.. uh.. we need more of that book, k.thanks.. 😊🔥🥵
I was gifted an ARC of The Lost Letters today, and like all new Brittney Sahin releases or ARC copies, I jumped right into the book.
If you’ve not yet read The Broken One by Brittney Sahin, I highly recommend reading it prior to jumping into The Lost Letters novella.
I knew this one was going to be a bit more special because Joseph Cannata joined Brittney Sahin in writing Jesse’s POV.
These two did not disappoint at all.
For a novice writer, Joseph nailed Jesse’s parts and all the angst the character felt in the 15 year love affair Jesse had with Ella (even though she never knew it). Well done, sir!! I hope we see more from you in the future!
Brittney’s writing keeps getting better with every new release and it’s a privilege to be gifted a sneak peek.
Loved this novella and can’t wait to start the re-read.
This book...from the letters, to the audio clips, I can't get enough. The letters from Jesse telling his POV brings this character to life even more. The brilliant writing by Brittney Sahin and Joseph Cannata keeps you turning the pages to learn what was going through their minds throughout the story told in The Broken One. Ella's letters and texts took me back to my younger years when I had many of the same thoughts with my "Jesse". It's not often I read a book more than once..but I am on the third time with this one and it just came out...always good to catch those tidbits you missed the first time. Well done on this one!
This time Brittney Sahin has a partner, Joesph Cannata and he brought it just as big as Brittney always does!! The Lost Letters of Ella and Jesse are amazing and gripping and tearful and heartbreaking and heartwarming all at the same time. This book is a rollercoaster of emotions but isn’t that Jesse and Ella?? This book gives you insight to some of the story you were missing and the mystery behind Jesse. My gosh he loves her so strong and fiercely for so long and has held himself back. These letters show you a side of Jesse you never see. They also let you see into how much Ella was breaking each and every day and every time she had to see Jesse walk away. What a painful story there’s was in the beginning, but of course you know our girl Brittney is going to bring it full circle and close it out with these two lovers being in a happy place and loving unconditionally and always. Don’t pass this up, because it’s a short one anything Sahin writes is amazing.
Jesse McAdams is one of my all-time favorite heroes. He has been on my book boyfriend list since he first appeared on page in Stealth Ops. The Broken One was one of my top reads in 2022, so I was beyond excited when I heard about this novella of lost letters between Jesse and Ella.
Brittney Sahin and Joseph Cannata did a phenomenal job of capturing the unrequited love and longing between Jesse and Ella in a series of letters that were never sent. The dual POV element from the perspective of two authors was something I haven’t read before and I loved it. The curated playlists at the beginning added another emotional element to a book that already had me deep in my feels.
This is a short novella packed full of passion and heart. It was everything I didn't know I needed and made me love these characters more than ever. Joseph fully embodied Jesse and that last letter... My heart.
Congratulations to Brittney and Joseph on the first of your writing endeavors together. I can’t wait to see what else you have in store for us.
Thank you so much to Brittney Sahin for sharing this with me a little early.
Have you ever wondered what your favorite characters were really doing or thinking during unspoken moments in their story? Look no further than The Lost Letters, an amazing collaboration between Brittney Sahin and Joseph Cannata. Taking place In the years before, during and after The Broken One, this novella peels back the curtain from both Jesse's and Ella's perspectives. What sets this book apart from others with dual points of view is that it was actually written by a woman AND a man! You will ride an emotional roller coaster as Brittney (as Ella) and Joseph (as Jesse) make you feel the need, the despair, the desire/heat and the love between these characters. While you will absolutely love The Lost Letters, reading The Broken One first will give you the foundation of the starring and supporting characters. And once will not be enough. You will want to read both again and again❤❤❤
What a phenomenal idea and read, just loved it. After reading their actual story then getting to see this insight into their thoughts and feelings was a wonderful read. It makes you run the whole gauntlet of emotions. Thank you Brittney and Joseph for this unique look into their story!
I was not ready for how much I was going to love this book. Brittney Sahin partnered with Joseph Cannata to write this emotionally charged novella that gives a behind-the-scenes look at one of our favorite Falcon Falls couples, and they did not disappoint. It had me laughing, crying, and falling in love with Jesse and Ella all over again. The letters give a new, and unique depth to these characters, bringing them to life like never before. I highly recommend reading The Broken One before The Lost Letters as this novella offers alternate perspectives, extended scenes, and tons of bonus material.
Bravo to Joseph on his writing debut, and many thanks for everything he's done over the years to bring multiple Brittney characters to life.
Brittney, as always, fantastic job on your latest book! It has been a joy reading your stories and watching you grow as an author over the years, and I can't wait to see what happens next.
Freaking epic!!! Period!! I loved it! It was a Novella you didn't know you needed!!! This was a perfect edition to Falcon Falls. Jesse and Ella are adorable!! and Speaking of Joseph collaborating, he is also one of the narrators (insert girl squeal). He and Ava did an incredible job!!! Duet Style Narration with Joseph Cannata and Ava Lucas!!
I was very excited to learn about the writing collaboration between Brittney Sahin and Joseph Cannata. As a reader, Cannata has been a favorite to see grace other book covers and tease with snippets and readings in Sahin’s book world. And Cannata in essence became the Hero Jesse McAdams for me. He truly breathed life into this very larger than life character. So to say this was a monumental endeavor for me to watch come to life…well, it was more than I could have hoped for. I wholeheartedly say it’s PERFECTION!
Jesse McAdams and Ella Hawkins were the couple we watched dance around the inevitable beginning of their life as a couple. Jesse was a broken man in every way imaginable. Partially due to service to his country and partially due to his home life. He never doubted his feelings for his woman, Ella. He was just too broken to be the man she deserved. And Ella stood by in the wings for years just waiting and biding her time, her chance to be with Jesse.
And it seems that they both found solace and comfort in writing their feelings down on paper. Maybe it was therapeutic, maybe venting, maybe hope. Either way, their journey was absolutely remarkable. I loved how Jesse slowly allowed his feelings and thoughts to evolve. He never doubted his feelings, just his worthiness. I found the way that Jesse ended his letters heartbreaking and hopeful. Something as simple as his closing of the letters allowed me to see inside the man Jesse was struggling to be. And my admiration for Ella grew with each letter. Her focus, her hope, her deep love for Jesse allowed her to keep the faith.
We also got some insight to situations that led us to present day and the course that was taken to get here. My respect to both Sahin and Cannata for how they grew these characters. This simply enhanced the story of THE BROKEN ONE. And while Sahin is a master writer and a wordsmith extraordinaire, Cannata delivered writing that left me eager for more. This should be a beginning to his next story journey.
First things first, I’d like to thank Brittney for the absolute honor of being able to read this before its release. I’d also like to congratulate Joseph on co-writing; he nailed it.
This novella is an extension of "The Broken One" by Brittney Sahin, and I don’t recommend reading it unless you’re all caught up.
Here, we get extra glimpses of the relationship between Jesse and Ella. We get to see their loneliness and the way they crave each other through letters they wrote one another but never sent. We even get some blanks filled in from other stories involving them and get to see past events from their perspective. The angst, the spice, the romance—this little slice of heaven has everything you could ask for.
Getting to know Marcus more was an unexpected treat! I loved seeing his relationship with Savanna through others eyes; it was beautiful.
Brittney outdid herself, and Joseph did an amazing job of channeling Jesse; I think he secretly really is Jesse. Shhh. SIGH- I just don’t have enough good things to say about this.
First let me say I loved this story. At first I wasn’t sure I would like the fact it went back through a book I had already read BOY was I surprised! This story went into the minds and emotions of both Ella and Jesse to the point you could feel all the hurt and anger and yeah love. The letters written by Jesse (Joseph C) were really good and the text between Jesse and Ella were so good and added extra layers into the minds and hearts .
It gave more of AJ and Savanna’s deep love for Marcus. I now understand why it took Jesse so long to finally admit he loved Ella and deserved her. I am going to go back and re read The Broken One knowing how much Jesse and Ella felt and how hard Jesse fought to be the man he thought Ella deserved. Playlists (both) were good the flow of the story was easy to follow and cleared up what was going on in their heads . Well done Brittney and Joseph well done.

I seriously just went through all the emotions while reading this novella. “The Lost Letters” is an emotional, sweet and satisfying novella that brings Jesse and Ella’s story even more to life.
Each chapter goes through a different period of the love story of Jesse and Ella. Each one is so personal and just brings so much light to how they tried to resist each other but the universe had different ideas.
They are beautiful letters that capture the story of Jesse and Ella. The passion and their need for each other just shines through. I loved that the cover model and inspiration for Jesse, Joseph Cannata, has co-written this book as Jesse himself. That added touch makes this book even more personable for Sahin’s readers because we get so attached to the characters. I hope we get more collaboration between Brittney and Joseph in the future.
When Jesse and Ella were first introduced their longing for each other was palpable, so I was thrilled when their book The Broken One was released. Now this new project between Brittney and Joseph gives us a chance to see, feel and experience what Jesse and Ella were each going through all the years they weren’t together. Sigh! Their love story was already a favorite of mine, but now I love it even more with this new insight.
This gives us glimpses into many different moments in their life before The Broken One. Some are especially poignant as we see Marcus alive and interacting with AJ the Hawkins family, and Savannah.
So thankful for the opportunity to read an ARC from the authors! I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.
I devoured this book, from start to finish. I love the Hawkins’s almost as much as love bravo and echo and this was an amazing trip back to Alabama even if it broke my heart just little.
We actually meet Marcus…and I was so excited, I even forgot for just a moment what happens. My heart reading that part…
Brittney and Joseph did an amazing job with this. I was 25% in, when I reminded myself who was writing Jesse’s letters. The flow of the letters matches Brittney’s style, and I didn’t know, I wouldn’t have been able to tell you who wrote what.
Now I think I need to go listen to the broken one….
I typically tend not to read novellas because I hate short stories. This one is so different. It is beautiful, gut-wrenching, exciting, and provides depth to not only one book but also both series, and it is uniquely its own. I have never read something so intricate and intimate. This novella gives the feeling of being in an old home and finding a shoebox filled with love letters that you read. It is intimate, personal, and is a peek into a depth of emotion from Jesse and Ella. It also gives us a brief glimpse into who Marcus was and the relationships between his team and Savannah. Phenomenal Job Brittney and Joseph!
A novella to beat all novellas. This unique take is from the viewpoints of Ella and Jesse told in their words via letters never sent to each other. It will make you laugh and cry and continues the story from The Broken One (read that book first) with such detail, love, frustration (their own with each other) and is such a brilliant collaboration between the author Brittney Sahin and cover model and now author Joseph Cannata. The attention to detail is amazing. 5 stars and another great book to the awesome series.
What a great concept for a book! The Lost letters give her readers the inside private feelings Jesse and Ella had as they wrote letters to each other and never sent. What can you say about Lost Letters other than it was awesome. This showed how both were feeling through the struggles getting to finally being together. The emotions this book takes you on is amazing. The heartbreak and love. And to give her readers the scene of when everyone learns of Marcus’s death. What an unbelievable scene. One we’ve all been waiting for. We finally get to see how this plays out Brittney Sahin enlisted the help of her muse, Joseph Cannata, to write from Jesse’s prospective. Just wow! How do we go back to the regular format? Brittney Sahin will have do sneak these in when she can.
Doesn’t get much better than this!! Brittney Sahin and Joseph Cannata knocked this out of the park. They took the love story of Ella and Jesse from Brittney’s book “The Broken One” and added so much more depth and understanding to it through the letters that they wrote for one another. You will run the gambit of emotions while reading this book, but one thing is for sure, you will never be disappointed! Well done Joseph and Brittney, we’ll done! In love with Jesse and Ella all over again!
You will cry, several times – sometimes happy tears, sometimes sad tears and definitely emotional overload. For me, the letter to Remi was it. Jesse has had my heart since he first appeared and The Broken One is my all time favourite story. After everything Jesse and Ella had endured, this love was so powerfully expressed in these letters, in this bonus novella. This book is definitely worth reading.
I really liked the way this novella kinda fleshed out the The Broken One even though when I read that book o thought it was already complete. I liked that there was more about AJ too. I loved Jesse’s letter to Remi. I definitely recommend this book.
Absolutely Amazing!! Thank you Brittney and Joseph. This is exactly what we needed for Jesse and Ella. They’re undeniably love connection throughout life, the push and pull they’ve gone through with heartache and pain(that AJ barn scene….) I love how we see them grow with each letter as well. As well as the last letter written…..no telling y’all have to get this and devour it soon and fast!!!
There are not enough words for this review of The Lost Letters by Brittney Sahin and Joseph Cannata. You both gave us a complete package of Letters that were written by Jesse and Ella. That captured all of there emotions though out the book. You made us laugh and cry at the same time. Plus some twist and turns we didn't see coming either. I personally can't wait to see where you next guys.
Brittney Sahin and Joseph Cannata did an amazing job weigh this book! Reading Jesse and Ella’s letters to each other had me crying and laughing. What an amazing love story. Definitely a much read if read The Broken by Brittney Sahin!
This is about Jesse and Ella, first and foremost it is excellent, I absolutely loved it! Brittney and Joseph totally did a magnificent job of pulling the heartstrings. The letters from past to current answering so many things that happened in the past books. I won't say anymore because you really need to read this. I also suggest you go back and read The Falcon Falls Security series.
It was amazing! I wasn't sure, going in to it, what I would think about going backwards and already knowing how their story ends........but I loved it! It was painful, sad, beautiful and sexy as sin. A must read!
