Kathie shows us clearly that the early Celtic Christians had an awsome relationship with God. Accounts of the supernatural ministries of Patrick, Brigid, Cuthbert, Brendan, Kieran etc. Read how these Celtic christians in the 4th-5th-6th centuries demonstrated the power of God and won the hearts of the people for the Lord. For example, Patrick converted Dublin by raising the kings two children from the dead. Read this and many other wonderful accounts.

For a book that was mainly about brief highlights and overviews of milestones in the lives of these saints, it was a good book. I could have enjoyed reading more about each saint but I suppose that is more what her other books are for.
As a 21st Century modern Christian it is tempting to want to interpret these stories through the lens of how we traditionally look at Celtic history- folklore....yet I don't believe it is. I believe it is true and that they experienced levels of intimacy and power with God that we are lacking today. Why? My God give us understanding so that we may recover the ancient ways.

An easy read with inspiring, short stories of real saints who walked in real power and reality of the spirit realm. Uplifting and encouraging. Refreshing.
