"Hit a drum, and what do you hear? A sound." "Vibrations make sounds. You can see some vibrations." A very basic introduction to the science of sound that my kindergartener found intriguing. The best aspects of the books are the ones that ask readers to experiment to better understand the concepts. A Scholastic read-at-home book for 1st and 2nd graders.
Quarantine reading. These types of educational books don't usually interest my toddler much but this one kept her attention throughout. She loved that it was "talking to her" and responded to every single challenge.
Nonfiction for early readers. This book explores the basic of sounds. It gives readers lots of familiar examples to help them understand the concept, as well as simple experiments to try to further understand.
This is an informational book that talks about sound and different examples of sound all around us. This book would be of great use during a lesson about sound and the different parts including volume, pitch, and vibration. This book would be great to explore pitch and volume in a first grade classroom or for fourth graders to investigate sound and see how it can be changed by varying vibrations.
