1997, hardcover edition, Country Books / Reiman Publications, Greendale, WI. 178 pages. Delightful true-life story, a follow-up to an earlier book concerning a family that moved from a small town in Idaho to a 152,000 acre sheep ranch in Alaska's remote Aleutian Islands. Here is the follow-up title of how this interesting woman and her family made a go of it way up north. Lots of fun and excitement. Terrific color photos, along with some black and white, throughout. This title will grab you, make you smile, and make you want to read on.
Enjoyed very much but wish there was a sequel to the second book. What a woman, I'm sure I couldn't handle more than a week in the summer there! I certainly admire Cora and family all the other people around the world who live and work in perilous though beautiful surroundings. I been to Alaska several times but not to the Aleutians, maybe someday.
I didn't read her first book. I think if i had i would have like this book more. But since i didn't her book meant to answer questions left me with questions. LOL.
It was still very interesting to get a view into her live and struggles living away from society. Basically, the book is formatted into a series of questions and her answers for letters she received after writing her first book. The life she has chosen is very interesting.
