Logo komt tijdens zijn vakantie Carla tegen. Nou ja, tegenkomen is een groot woord. Ze kijken elkaar eventjes aan en wisselen een glimlach uit, dat is eigenlijk alles. Maar Logo is helemaal weg van haar.
Niet veel later ontmoeten ze elkaar opnieuw, bij een meer in Duitsland. Bij Carla kan er deze keer geen glimlach af, integendeel: Ze is zo gesloten als een pot en doet pijnlijk afstandelijk. Logo voelt op zijn klompen aan dat er iets niet klopt. Maar welk duister geheim Carla met zich meedraagt, begrijpt hij pas als het bijna te laat is.

About the author

Born in 1962 in Battenberg, Germany, Steinhöfel now works as a translator and reviewer and writes screenplays. First and foremost, though, he is the author of numerous children's and young adult books awarded with various literature prizes. His bestseller "The Center of the World" was nominated for the well-known and prestigious German Youth Literature Prize and has been published in numerous countries worldwide.

Steinhöfel was awarded the Erich Kästner Prize in 2009, after Peter Rühmkorf, Loriot, Robert Gernhardt, and Tomi Ungerer. In the same year, he was also awarded several literary prizes for his work "Rico, Oskar und die Tieferschatten", including the German Youth Literature Prize, the Catholic Children's and Youth Literature Prize as well as the "Lesekünstler 2009" award by the Börsenverein Deutscher Buchhandel.

Protagonist ist viel zu reif für sein Alter. Die Story bricht ziemlich plötzlich ab. Aber was mir gut gefällt ist die (im epochialen Sinn verstanden) Romantik des Buchs.

Liest sich schnell, schöne Beschreibungen, gut nachvollziehbar. Der Protagonist ist etwas schwer zu fassen, da er sehr reif für seine 14 Jahre ist. Die Handlung macht recht viel (schwierigen Stoff) auf und dann nochmal eine unerwartete Wendung, vielleicht ein bisschen too much.

I read this book as the final book that I was required to read for my German class. I really liked the story of the book, the pacing was right and the actions of the characters seemed logical, i.e. they all acted their age.

I especially liked the grandma, since she was able to admit that she ha dmade mistakes and helped Logo when he wanted advice.

The book was easy to read and the words I had to look up were not that difficult to understand the meaning of while reading them.

Auch mit diesem Buch, ein young adult Buch von dem Deutschen Autor Andreas Steinhöfel, hab ich mich gut amusiert. Es war für mich leicht zu lesen in Deutsch und es hat mir gefallen.

Wahnsinnig schönes Buch, nur tolle Charaktere - noch ein ganz toller Steinhöfel! Die Geschichte bewegt und die Kritik an Erziehungsstilen mancher Eltern ist gelungen. Es ist ganz Steinhöfeltypisch düster und eine große Empfehlung!

even though it was a book I had to read for school, it was amazing. The ending was so exciting that I just couldn't stop reading. The major plottwist was also very unexpected. OMG I need more...

Ich mochte die Charaktere, vor allem der Hauptcharakter war super. Allerdings war mir das Ende viel zu plötzlich und offen. Da hätte ich mir noch einen Epilog gewünscht. Sonst war das Buch spannend zu lesen und sehr interessant. Bis jetzt mein 2. Buch von Andreas Steinhöfel und er hat mich noch nicht enttäuscht :)
