From a young age, I struggled to find the answers to what I think of are life's fundamental questions: Who am I? and Why am I alive? I found those answers for myself after much study and circumspection, culminating in strict fasting and meditation on top of Moak Mountain in South Korea more than 30 years ago.

What I discovered opened up a new life and a new world for me. Since then, I've sought to find ways to help others answer those questions for themselves, and live healthier, happier, and more fulfilling lives as a result. All of my work is focused on developing methods for this and sharing them with as many people as possible. I believe when enough people know their true nature and purpose and are empowered to live by it, the world will become a place of dreams; heaven will be expressed on earth.

This is the purpose and content of all of my books. I hope they enrich your life by reading them.

Ilchi Lee's "The Call of Sedona: Journey of the Heart" paints an endearing and beautiful story one man's spiritual journey, and love for the Sedona area (a well known town in Arizona), as well as a picture for all the senses of what Sedona is like, physically and energetically. This book would make anyone want to travel to Sedona in a heartbeat - if just to experience this unusual place. Each chapter takes you on a new adventure to a different area in Sedona - and it's surrounding domain. The last few chapters even offer some meditation practices to try - both for the experienced meditation practitioner, and those new to meditation and spiritual practices. I highly recommend reading this book, both for the stories and information about the area, but also for inspiration. Inspiration to travel, inspiration to meditate, inspiration to change your daily life exactly where you are.

Loved this book because Ilchi Lee knows how to explain earth energies to the common reader. Everyone knows Sedona is a vortex, a special place that by its very nature helps visitors meditate, heal and grow spiritually. Many authors have tried to explain why is simple terms. Most fail because they depend on cliches expecting their readers to have an understanding of such cliches. Lee, gets it and explains it in an easy to read fashion that moves like a story. It is actually of memoir of his journey to Sedona. I'd highly recommend it to those studying thin places, earth energies and alternate states of consciousness... even if you have no plans to travel to Sedona.

I have long wanted to learn meditation, mainly for its calming benefits and in hopes of it helping with my chronic insomnia. But reading about vortexes, chakras, and chi it just seems silly to me and I can never seem to take it seriously. I can never seem to concentrate on my breathing for any extended period of time.
I'll be taking a trip to Sedona and the Grand Canyon in a couple months so I decided to give this book a try. I really enjoyed Lee's description of the local landmarks and the messages he received from them. But my old skepticism kept raising its head from time to time. I do hope that this book did open my mind and heart enough so that my trip will prove to be a spiritual experience.

My inner cynic definitely laughed a couple times and almost cringed at a few explanations, but my inner mystic pagan hippie was like yeah! So my day-to-day self is using the parts I like and disregarding the cringy bits. Will definitely reference again if/when I ever visit Sedona.

I thought I should share about the Call of Sedona book. It's a New York Times bestseller as of Feb this year. Once I started reading it I couldn't put it down. The way the stories about Ilchi Lee's awakenings were written , I lived through them. I was transformed in time and place. The scenery is described in the way that I smelled the air and tauched the rocks. Most of my life I struggled with my identity and questions I had about life and death. The answer to desperate question "Who am I" was no longer I"'m weird. "The hopeless feeling of emptiness and loneliness regardless of being surrounded by family and so many friends was gone. I don't have to be in denial and numbing myself with lies and pretending that I'm ok. I found my greatness within. I feel alive and joyfull. Knowing that there is more people asking the same and searching for answer made me realize that the dark days are over. Call of Sedona gave me hope. Hope for myself and humanity. Hope for the earth. I open this book at random pages and find answers to everyday problems. I opened my eyes and ears ,and my heart at the end. It is a journey of my heart too.I recommend this book to every human. And the world will be a better place to live. Thank you Ilchi Lee.

I was fairly disappointed in this book. It is really a guide to meditating in Sedona with elaborate descriptions of meditating around rocks. The back 10th of the book contained detailed recommendations about the meditation process and I was hoping for a lot more and looking for a guide to meditation. I was also hoping for writing on the spirituality of meditation, but again, there was very little about that.

A place to find yourself and this book helps you to see the beauty of Sedona that resonates with your soul. I found the way back to my true self and my purpose by reading about the personal history of Ilchi Lee. His story is fascinating and his great insights which he discovered in Sedona are amazingly weaved into his experiences which he so beautifully details in this book. You will be inspired to explore Sedona yourself and find the messages that are there for your own personal journey.

My daughter found this book in a Korean book store in Korean Town Los Angeles and gave it to me to read. Since I recently moved to the Village to Oak Creek (round trip to Safeway in Sedona is 24 miles) and the Mailing address shows Sedona. Have yet to see any magical vortex or any great spirits as I am skeptical.

This was just an okay read. It was meant to be inspirational but really it just chronicles the travels of a South Korean Nation to Sedona Arizona, where he established his healing center.

I've read a number of Ilchi Lee's books and once you've read a few of them, you realize there is a lot of repetition between the books. I get why this is, for those readers who may only read one or two, but it is can be annoying if you've read more than a few. That said, I did really enjoy this book, and read it in preparation for a training at the Mago retreat center that Lee established in Sedona. I had heard some of Lee's story about his quest for enlightenment but it is recounted here in detail. Again, I had read/heard about his training centers he established in South Korea after he attained enlightenment, and his move to the US to bring his teachings here, but never in such detail. I enjoyed the story about how he acquired the Mago property and the struggle to bring it back to life. The part I enjoyed the most, and what I hope to use in a few weeks when I visit, is the guide to the sacred spots in and around Sedona and some meditations for experiencing the energies there.

Great book for finding some good spots in Sedona HOWEVER, I did NOT take into account the difference in time from when this was written in 2011 and when I visited. You cannot make it up some roads on your own. I got stuck going up Schnebly Hill Overlook. The road is so incredibly eroded, I’m actually surprised I made it as far as I did. I had to abandon my Outlander halfway up. Either book a tour or rent a Jeep with big tires. The tours left before sunset though, so I’m actually glad I walked up the rest of the way. Besides that, great book!

Part memoir, part meditation, healing, and manifestation handbook, and part guidebook to Sedona, this little book is difficult to easily categorize. This may be off-putting for some but I personally found it quite engaging. It probably helps that I am familiar with Sedona and with a little of Ilchi Lee's presence there. This would be a great book to take along on a meditative hiking tour of Sedona but Lee's personal journey and his meditation practices are inspiring and accessible wherever you are.

Book Pairings:
Goes well with another Arizona transformation memoir Breathing Blue by Kathleen O'Dwyer. Books by David Spangler, Wayne Dyer, and Anita Moojani would also be good pairings.

This book "Call of Sedona, A Journey of the Heart" is much more than a guide to Sedona, AZ. While Ilchi Lee describes many beautiful sites in an around Sedona, he also weaves into this narrative his personal experiences and his enlightened wisdom in a way that is understandable for anyone seeking personal growth. Mr. Lee captures the spiritual essence that Sedona has to offer, and he even shares his experiences there in meditation. And as a bonus, he shares effective ways to practice meditation at home. I highly recommend this book to anyone seeking personal growth and self-improvement.

Call of Sedona is a beautiful and poignant story of one person's search for meaning and finding it in the beauty and splendor of Mother Earth, Sedona. I love this book. Whenever I have something on my mind, I simply hold the book close to my chest, connect with its energy, open a page at random, and then somehow I always find an answer or insight to what was on my mind. It's be a wonderful companion on my own journey. Thank you to Ilchi Lee for sharing his wonderful journey from within and without.

I loved this book. I read it from start to finish on a flight to AZ from Chicago and WOW did it enhance my trip! I am pleased the audio form is now available because it will make the guided meditation at various Sedona sites easier. I felt such gratitude for Ilchi Lee who took on his mission to heal the Earth and all of us on it. His courage to carry the message from his homeland and deepen it with what he experienced here is very inspiring.

He tells some great stories of his journey here. The description of Sedona made me see it in another light, and I wanted to return right away. I love the meditations in the book. There is one for every vortex in Sedona, and some other great ones to use. I think this was the first book I learned about LifeParticles, and I love using them for meditation.

Book your trip to Sedona and read the book!

I loved the way that the author, Ilchi Lee, really tried to help you to feel and see Sedona. Not only through what you would see as a tourist but also as a person seeking to connect more to our original character/self. I was deeply touched by the use of guided meditation to clear away old memories and burdens.
I highly recommend this book to anyone seeking to sooth their soul or to connect and recharge that inner fire for life.

I was very weary of books that tote places or get aways. How do i know if this would be what I experienced? Well, I went to Sedona like 3 months ago and fell in love with Sedona and this book. It was a tour guide that was a treasure map that was a uplifting moment. I definetly want to visit all the places the book mentions and illustrates. good read

I love Sedona. It has been a source of inspiration to me for more than 20 years. This book shows how a person can turn the inspiration into a reality with the power of conviction and commitment. It is a great book for anyone who has ever been struck by the magnificent beauty of the red rocks and wondered what story they wanted to tell her/him.

This book let me see the city of Sedona in a new light. It opened my heart and allowed me to look beyond the physical beauty of its red rocks and juniper trees into the spiritual significance and healing power that Sedona has. Reading the story of Ilchi Lee awakened my own true essence and I could travel and experience the journey of the heart along with him.

It gave me many awakenings about who I am and what I am supposed to do in my life, especially in Sedona where I am living. Even though you are not in Sedona, reading this book will help you go deeper into your meditation practice and mindful living. I really enjoyed reading and meditating with this book Call of Sedona.

I loved the book. I've visited Sedona many times & reading this book was like taking a trip back. I loved wisdom Ilchi Lee shares along with a guidance through vortexes. Even though I know Sedona is beautiful the book helped me to recognize even deeper beauty it has to offer. I also noticed how peaceful my mind got just by opening the book. It' a great read!
