Christina Crawford (born June 11, 1939) is an American writer and actress, best known as the author of Mommie Dearest, an autobiographical account of alleged child abuse by her adoptive mother, famous Hollywood actress Joan Crawford. She is also known for small roles in various television and film projects, such as Joan Borman Kane in the soap opera The Secret Storm and Monica George in the Elvis Presley vehicle Wild in the Country.
This book was lovely. I loved the whole book. It was a simply interesting book that only went deeper and deeper into explaining the characters. I found it a mixture of a Danielle Steele and Jackie Collins book. Am definitely gonna read more of her books!

I didn't realize that Christina Crawford had written any other books besides "Mommie Dearest", and the ironic part of this book is that a woman famous for writing a book about Joan Crawford followed it up with a novel that is basically a Joan Crawford movie. A beautiful older woman, glamorous on the outside but cold and calculating on the inside, plots to control everyone around her through sex, blackmail, and murder as she schemes her way toward millions with only her determined younger stepdaughter to stop her.
This was interesting because of the author, but on its own there's nothing really new or engaging here.
