What are the bone idle rich folks up to? Being delusional about men, suffering from inviting people over they don’t want to actually talk to but having nothing better to do, and drinking.

Still, I love Mrs Astor and it’s not a terrible book.

My search history reading this book:

Crane Simplex- not a disease as it sounds, but an old timey car
Cunard Line- a British shipping line
Brook Club- fancy secret rich person club in NY? Not sure
Retrousse nose-turned up at the end
Silver salver- fancy plate
Binche lace- some type of lace made in Belgium also called fairy lace
Rouff’s in Paris- the shop of Maggie Rouff, a French fashion designer of Belgian origins
Cache-sexe- very small garment to cover the genitals
Fernet-Branca- bitter grape based alcohol with over 40 herb, described as “an adventurous journey amidst flavors and emotions”
Strega- a bright yellow digestive herbal alcohol
