To learn from each day, each moment; to live fully without fear but in perfect awareness; to share one's heart and soul and hidden resources with all; to love immensely and try to bring happiness to all Beings; to be able to laugh at oneself and share in the sweetness of intelligent (but not traumatic) humor; to help, cherish and love, starting with those immediately around us and turning love into a circle each time more inclusive; These, for me, are some characteristics of wisdom. Life as close to Nature and natural cycles in another important complement. And always, to let LIFE happen to us...

From ancient Buddhist wisdom to famous spiritual leaders to names I have never heard before, this little book (pun intended) shares some good advice that you can turn to no matter what happens in your life. You should be able to relate your situation to one of the quotes.

My favorite, the one that hit close to home for me was written by Rainer Maria Rilke around 100 years ago, "I want to beg you, as much as I can, to be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and to try to love the questions themselves like locked rooms and like books that are written in a very foreign tongue. Do not seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer."

Until next time, take life one page at a time!
